Baby Charlie has arrived so lets get on with shedding the rest of this wobble!!!

Good Morning Wenchie

I really do like the shred DVD - and after todays workout Im SURE it must be good for the old "jelly belly" -there are crunches, reverse crunches, bicycle crunches and I can feel it in my sides and that bit between boobs n belly :p

That book sounds good *really really shouldn't buy any more cook books :nono:* :D -I still use a fair bit of olive oil amongst others as I won't use the spray stuff :sign0137: -BUT as of the 12 April I will have been "bread free" for 1 whole year :woohoo: ... although I still make it for hubby.
Good luck for weigh in tomorrow :cross: -isn't it odd when you struggle to use syns  -Im the same , but I will try a little harder this week (famous last words)

Anyway -I have vaccumed through and got the dough rising for its 2nd time so I reckon I will catch up on here before I get my lunch nomnomnom
Have a lovely day everyone..and keep at it -we are getting there :banana dancer:

Oh my goodness!

Firstly – WOW! Well done, another 2.5lbs off! Looks like all that body magic is paying off brilliantly! Whoo hoo :bunnydance: So proud of you hun.
Secondly – WOW! Day 6?! Way to go! You are flying – gonna be a skinny Minnie soon! Can’t believe you’re in the 14’s! Really pleased for you poppet.
Unfortunately for me it looks like I am back up in to the 17’s.

Good afternoon all

Im baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack :sign0151:

Well lunch had been done n dusted and so I thought I would have a look-see at 1 of my DVDs -so I have just done a 10 min body blast -It seems quite good (if a little fast) so tomorrow I will have a look at another 10 min section, I figure that there are 5 sections on this one so if I squish one in each afternoon mon-fri it will all help -then I can move onto the other 10 min ones -cor I think I might be getting the exercise bug :faint2: hmmmmm actually I think its more that I can see the finish post with my weight loss (if you can call at least 4st the finishing line :giggle: )so I want to get some toning done :p

Ela ine -you aren't back into the 17s -you haven't had your proper weigh in -so it doesn't count until then ;)

Ten minute body blast eh? Coming home for the 2012 Games are we :p x

:rotflmao: not unless they have added a "wibble n wobble" event :p

Well Whilst Im here I may as well add a 45min session of mowing the lawn to my body magic for today :whacky068: -it was really starting to annoy me so its now done -its the first one of the year so Im all :D -I do love the smell of fresh mown grass....
So Im hoping with all the pushing n pulling -ooh and sweeping up I will have burnt a few cals extra :cross:

Hubby should be home soon -so he can lug the kit back down into the basement -I can't be ars*ed :p . ohh and then he can bring up some spuddlies and I can get the oven chips underway. Whilst I was out there I had both sets of neighbours ask what I had been cooking as apparently I have been torturing them all day with lovely smells :giggle: - it is the braising steak and onions and the fresh baked bread :p

Anyway -enough waffle I will get off AGAIN
have a good evening all!!

I have to say Capricorn - you are definitely turning into an exercise addict!! One thing's for sure, if you carry on like this you'll probably be the fittest one on that trek!!

My aversion to red meat seems to be easing now after I had a taste of hubby's roast beef yesterday... before just the thought of beef or lamb made me feel sick, but it was actually quite nice! So I might try out your braising steak recipe in a couple of weeks- it's a good way for me to eat beef as the only way I like steak cooked is very rare which is a big no no now :(, so slow cooked has to be the answer!!

I'm going to have to work hard to keep up with you up those Himalayas, that's for sure!

(Fortunately all of this swimming seems to be doing me a lot of good, though, so maybe I will cope, after all.)

Capricorn, you are an excercising machine at the moment - it's very impressive & inspiring :).

Urm. Ooops? I promise to share the makings of anything I cook out of the book (I'm still at the note taking stage, although I'm going shopping tommorrow - get it in before class, less temptation to buy rubbish! - and I think I'll get the bits for an auberginey thing she does. I'm unconvinced by aubergines but they're quite cheap right now and variety's useful!).

Oh bread - I've been off it since I started on plan and I do feel much better for it; I wasn't a huge bread fiend or anything, but I'm pretty sure the yeast&wheat combo wasn't doing me the slightest bit of good. I've been pondering getting the ww malted loaf and maybe trying to make some kind of bruchetta-type delios with my HExB from that when the tomatoes are better. Hrm. Might be worth an experiment, and it's such a lovely way to eat tomatoes (and white beans, and tuna...). I figure I've got about a month before the farmer's market's got the nice poly-tunnel tomatoes coming to decide anyway!

Your lovely food smells must be torture to your neighbours, lovely fresh, well cooked, healthy food... mmmmmh

Good evening all

Lots of lovely visitors :wavey:

Sarah - Im glad your getting your taste for things back :D - I can't eat a lot of beef in one sitting now as I find it really heavy -but I must admit I enjoyed dinner tonight
I don't know about being the fittest on the trek  -Im just hoping to be fit enough to get through it without needing air rescue to save me :giggle: -I have about 17 months to shift the rest of this wobble and get fit :cross:

Jim -trust me -you are much fitter than me *you had better be cos I will be hanging onto your backpack when I get to steep bits* :rotflmao:
How is the swimming going?

Hi Jess -thanks :D, -just had a nosey on your diary, congratulations on the upcoming marriage :party0011:

woohoo wenchie -I find aubergines hit n miss, they just don't seem to have much flavour,
Im nearly 1 whole year without bread and to be honest I don't miss it :woohoo:... I used to eat loads, always home made with organic butter mmmmmmmmm . I know that I have issues with bread -when I have it I crave more and more -so going cold turkey was easiest...
I sometimes had the WW danish at mums when I was ww-ing I liked it for sandwiches but when it was toasted it just explodes when you bite it :giggle:.
I usually grow my own veggies -tomatoes being my speciality, but I won't be doing them again this year as we aren't sure how late in the year we will be moving  -but as soon as I get home I will start up again...

Well I have another confession.... I have just been and ordered 2 sets of weighted gloves :-
2 x 0.5kg and 2 x 0.75kg and 2 sets of ankle/wrist weights 2 x 0.5kg ans 2 x 1kg  - now, in my defence and gawd knows I need one -I am sick of keep hitting myself on the head with my hand weight :p, I go to brush my hair out of my eyes and forget Im holding them *pillock* - Plus I figure with the weighted gloves I can wear them through the whole routine ...Right -as of now I am NOT allowed to buy any more kit -shout at me if I do  ....... Im not buying anything else until my backside is of a size that Im willing to wrap in a swimsuit -AND THEN I will buy one- until then *no more* :nono:

Hi, I've just started out on sw after having done various other diets in the past- it's great to see how well you've done xx:) Can't wait to read about you achieving your goal.

Good morning all

day 8 "shredded" :character00115:

Well as you can see from the list below -Im well down on my syn usage so far this week :slap: -I swear the more I try and use them the less I need . I didn't even eat my activia yesterday so just 2 syns used .....
Today I WILL use more as Im making wraps :bliss: nomnom nommy nom :p

So Im planning a red day today that should look like this:-
  • 250ml semi (A)
  • apple
    [*]activia (2.5)
    [*]orange
  • lemon n black pepper salmon
    [*]tickled cabbage
    [*]tickled beetroot
    [*]lettuce
    [*]cucumber
    [*]tomatoes
  • frozen cherries
  • frozen raspberries
  • BIG hm tortilla wrap (8)
  • roast chicken
    [*]lettuce
    [*]cucumber
    [*]tomatoes
    [*]onions
    [*]peppers
    [*]mustard dressing
    (1)
  • pineapple
  • apple
  • 250ml semi (A)
  • fibre plus (B)

SO I make that 2A+1B and 11.5 syns ,
We need to nip out this evening and pick up more water, cottage cheese and a few other bits so I will get the wrap dough made and rolled out so I can cook them fresh when we get back, everything else will be ready so its nice n quick....

when I strip the chicken off later I will turn the carcass into chicken n sweetcorn soup for the freezer (makes nice quick lunches for the weekend ;))

Hi Patches -hope you find minimins useful, everyone is really friendly and helpful...

Right I had better get off and get brekkie and then do my shopping list..
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning Capricorn -

Exploding toast sounds a wee bit dangerous! :D Hrm. I'll need to ponder that a bit more... I'm very lucky with our farmer's market - it's a really big one that comes twice a month and it's fab, which is just as well as I've nowhere I can grow anything and have black thumbs!

I thought it was just me who tended to smack myself in the face! Good luck with the gloves, I hope they do the needful! (I've had the WiiMote clattering off my glasses more times than I can count!)

I'm very unsold on them, but I was talking to my dad on the phone and he's obsessed and we share a lot of tastes so... there's a really nice looking tomatoey dish I think I'm going to do (it specifically says that it doesn't use a lot of oil because aubergines absorb like a sponge, so it gives it a nice tomatoey sauce to absorb).

I had a lower syn day yesterday as well (WI tonight and I'd run out of peanuts :D) and I am ravenous this morning as a result, so I hope I get a decent result tonight and can keep up the synning!

Have a lovely day :)

Well I have been an ickle bit busy this morning, I now have :-

* 6 portions chicken n sweetcorn soup x 1syn on EE/G to go in the freezer (gawd knows where :p)
* 6 portions of feta frittata in the fridge X 0.5 heA on EE or 0.5 heA OR B on green
*tub of mustard mayo chicken to put in the tortillas later (1 syn each)
*tub of roast chicken -to use up
* chopped a whole pineapple up
*prepared the salad for later and for my lunch

and my salmon for lunch is in the remoska for when I have finished this :happy036:

So later I just need to make the dough for the tortillas and slice the bread I baked yesterday and try and find room in the freezer for it :giggle:
I love it when I have used up loads of odds n sods and made something nimmy :D

Good luck with weigh in later Wenchie :vibes::cross: -Im sure you will be fine :party0011:.
Its really odd when you struggle to use syns isn't it!!! I don't "try" to NOT eat them, but I think because I eat meals I really really enjoy I just don't need many *extras* -although I am trying this week to up them again ..... hopefuly helped by my tortilla tonight and avocado for a couple of lunches :sign0151:
I tend to use aubergine when I make pasta sauces -I roast them down with onions, tomatoes, chilli n garlic and then blitz it all -then use it instead of passata in chillies etc too. They are right -they soak up oil like sponges,,, somewhere I have a recipe for a roasted aubergine dip (never tried the recipe) but I know I love the one I tried in a restaurant (I will have to dig it out)
Anyhoo -I had better get off and get my lunch -have a lovely day and good luck for later!!

good grief you have been busy, want to come round mine and make me some yummy food? :D Am i reading right, you make tortillas? food heaven! x
Hi Nicki

Go on then -where do you live??:p
Yup I make flour tortillas, I make as much of my own stuff as I can -thing is that since I started making them I won't eat shop ones -home made are much nicer and MUCH cheaper ;) - plus I can alter the size depending on how many syns I want to use :D
My recipe is on here if you want me to re-post it for you...
How are things going so far?

Thank you for your kind words the other day...I am back on track as of yesterday and really enjoying it actually. I am hoping little miss will fall asleep shortly so I can get a workout done whilst both littlies are napping, although i am tired (missy still wakes up throughout the night!) so might just sleep instead ;)

I would love it if you could re-post the tortilla recipe:)

Hi Mel
Glad you are feeling brighter . Hope the littlie has a long nap and gives you some time to yourself :cross:
Here is the recipe -once you have made them a couple of times they get better -the thing is to get them as thin as possible ...

I now just make half a batch and make 3 BIG bruisers -1 for me n 2 for hubby ... so I pay 8 syns -but they are worth it..well I think so :p

CHEWY SOFT FLOUR TORTILLA
makes 9 @ 5.5 syns each
250g PLAIN FLOUR 45syns
1 ½ TSP BAKING POWDER
1TSP SALT
2TSP VEG OIL 4syns
180ml MILK -from allowance 0r 3 syns

put the milk in a large jug and warm in the micro to warm and then throw everything else in and mix -saves faffing about with the proper recipe
Once mixed -turned out onto a lightly floured worktop and knead for 2 mins
Cover and leave for 15 mins -it won’t rise but needs to relax
Cut into 9 balls (approx 50g each)
Cover and leave to relax for 10 mins
Roll each one out into a round -approx 8” -they should be really thin you will need a little flour, but not too much as
A)they slide about instead of rolling
B) -we have to "pay" for the flour with our precious syns
what I do is roll one, place a food bag over it and put the next one on top and layer them up so I can cook them all at once
Heat a heavy non-stick frying pan (preferably cast iron)
Drop in one tortilla and turn after about 2 mins -the surface should bubble -press down with a teatowel (watch you don't steam your fingers ) -guess how I learnt that
Place inside a dry tea towel (just fold a couple of teatowels in 4 to make individual pockets) to keep warm whilst you cook the rest

You can freeze the balls of dough too... when they are defrosted they will be a bit stickier so you will need more flour when rolling out-but they roll out bigger after freezing too
I hope that makes sense (if not -just shout me)- they get easier the more you make them oooohh and as a final thought DON'T be tempted to use self raising flour in place of the plain and baking poweder -I thought it seemed a good idea -but they came out as tough as a witches doodaa when I tried it once

Firstly - woah Day 8 shredded! GET YOUU! Skinny minnie :bannana dancer:

I WISH I had done 8 days of Jillians wrath! I'll get there... I'll get there.

As you've probably been able to tell - I've been pretty down recently - but have picked myself up (again) and started again (again!) seriously - it feels like every week is a new start :(

Just wanted to say hat you really, really, really inspire me!!!
Thank you for always being so bright and cheery and of course for posting your georgous recipes :p

Talking of which, could I please have the chicken and sweetcorn soup one?
I don't know if I asked for it before  but can't get to page 62 using my phone it's a nightmare!!!

I did attempt to make chicken soup last week, well, it was (supposed to be) chicken and vegetable.. I made a usual veg soup (nom nom) and then added a chicken breast before blending... absolute nightmare! Ick is all I can use to describe it.. the texture was awful and it had a horrible bittey taste :(

Need to think of more red day soups anyway (I love taking soup to work for lunch)

Eee, see - as I type to you I instantly become more motivated :D ha ha ha.

Okay - there was something else I was about to mention, but it's completly gone .. don't think it was important though :p

Catch you later xxx

GOOD LUCK WENCHIE xx

Wow your wirghtloss is fantastic. Despite being here ages i'm not sure I have even read your diary I don't know how I missed it.

I saw your recipe for the tortillas and they sound just what i'm looking for can I substitue the veg oil for sunflower does it make a differnce.

I started Jillian today I so hope it gets easier

Thanks

Thanks Capricorn, I will definitely be giving them a try soon xx
