Beegee's Green Day Diary

I've put my details into a pro-points calculator and it came back saying I should be on 29 points. I'm going to go with that for now as I think that's more accurate and better for me psychologically.

I've had an ok week this week, have had visitors for the weekend so a bit dodgy today but I've finished week 99 on 92 syns.

I think I'm going to have a WW day tomorrow, but might do the Filling and Healthy plan which is similar to SW but without the hex's (which makes me wonder why I'm doing it really tbh ...)
I've done some thinking over the weekend and tried to work out some meal plans and I just don't like it at the moment! I'm seriously fretting about starving. I think I'm a SW girl through and through. Still, I want to give it a whirl so watch this space!

Portion control - I don't think I can do it on my own!! (insert weak as water / greedy icon!)

I haven't really 'changed' though, I've just bought access to their info and am raiding their database at the moment. Curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see if it might work for me and give me a kick up the bum to lose another stone. It's only cost about £15 for 3 months so not a bank breaker.

At the moment my meal plans are basically my SW menus but with measured amounts of everything rather than a tin here, a handful there and without being bigger than I need.

So, how is your WW day going Beegee ?

I cant believe I'm saying this but I'm thinking of WW myself  Not sure I could handle points though. I used to do No count, Core plan and was even around when simply filling came out too, so I can handle those. Is the pro-points plan similar in any way to these older plans ? £15 for 3 months is fab :)

Through my tidying on the weekend I found my ww books so I thought I'd give them another look

Hope your day is going well!

So, how is your WW day going Beegee ?

I'm doing it now - I've just had a sandwich for lunch!

So far I've had:

B: Branflakes, yogurt, berries and banana (just like SW!)

L: 4x WW bread, 3 laughing cow blue, salad & grapes. Think I'll need something else too though, that bread makes tissue paper look thick.

Gobolino, I think WW may work for you as you could chose how many hex type foods to have! I quite like the look of the healthy and filling plan but it doesn't really help me with my portion control issues. Info is here : http://www.minimins.com/weight-watchers-simply-filling/240775-simply-filling-food-list.html

I've done WW through the years too, I started when it was all portions of protein, carbs, dairy etc to build up your day, then did the original points. It's probably better now that fruit is all free. As I recall, a banana used to have the same points as a bag of crisps which didn't teach you any good habits. I'd like to think that because I've been on SW so long that I will keep the same principles and make sensible choices. I'm terrified that I'll get really into WW and undo all my hard work as I really do think I can be on SW for life.

You also get weekly points to have as a one off or to use through the week which is good - especially as an indian takeaway seems to be ludicrously high in points! I think eating out will be harder on WW actually as veggie choices tend to revolve round pasta, veg, rice which are all quite point heavy.

If you're interested in joining I did it through top cashback which should mean that I get about £15 off the £32 joining price. I haven't used it before though so am hoping that the cash comes through as promised!

If you've got any questions or you want me to look up some point values for you just ask - happy to help!

Going to get something else to eat now as I already know my sandwich will not see me through to dinner time (unlike my usual savoury rice or pasta and sauce )

Hey I've done top cash back for lots of things and it works :) Just have to be sure you go straight from the top cash back site to the site you're buying from and bobs your uncle!

Thanks for the info. So, the healthy food list +49 weekly points ??? Or is it like a previous plan where you have 21 weekly points and 2 tsp oil ?

Interested to hear how you found the rest of your day, hope all went ok and you managed to stretch your points :)

Well, I didn't stretch them particularly. I didn't have anything else at lunchtime but while the kids were having tea I had a banana as was hungry but didn't know what to have and then had a slice of WW toast and peanut butter which was about the nicest thing I've had all day.

I made stirfry for tea and - this bit is a choker - one layer of noodles (90g) is 10 points!! That's more than a third of my daily allowance. I put a load of veg, some quorn and black bean sauce in too which brought it up to 13 points and now I've only got 1 sad point left that I can't do anything with. I'm missing my highlights and cereal bar!! I'm not 'satisfied'!!

On the plus side, I have had a very successful portion control day and must have had a good few hundred less calories than usual.

I bought some Shredded Wheat today in Tesco as it was on bogof and on the Healthy & Filling list. I think I'll probably do points again tomorrow though - just to try and work up some enthusiasm! I'm going to bed now (hungry-ish )

Hi gobolino u have 49 weekly pp and 2 tsp healthy oil each day, im trying it again this week ...
Beegee have u tried the ww thick bread xx

Yes I've had it before and I agree it was much better! I just saw the normal one reduced in tesco and bought it without thinking about how pitiful it was.

So, today I'm still not a very happy bunny and it's my own fault because I counted wrong. I made a packet of Ainsley couscous with salad for lunch thinking it was 5 PP, it's actually 10 PP as I had the whole packet . Oh big boo - that's far too many points to use for lunch and it's not worth 10 points . I had half a box of strawberries to make me feel better.

I'm now thinking that the pasta bake I'd planned later for 13 points will only leave me with 1 point and it's not enough (stamps foot angrily!!) I was thinking of going back to a SW day, but had 2 Shredded Wheat for breakfast which means I'm over on my hex's - I'm having a right quandry!

I've saved myself! I didn't have anything else apart from some melon, knocked a point off my pasta bake and now have 2 points left for one of my new WW cake bars and a coffee. Hooray! (I still hate it though!)

Oh no, sorry to hear that you're hating it!!! But, great stuff that you managed to stick with it, despite the hating :) Do you think it might grow on you ? I guess it takes a bit of getting used to. I think you're doing really great sticking with it ;)

Thanks love!! I am quite proud that I've now done 2 days and stuck to points. I think I'm going to have a filling and healthy day tomorrow though as I miss SW and it's fairly similar.

I'm planning on:

- Porridge, yogurt and fruit

- Beans on toast

- Chilli and rice

That sounds more like it!

I really don't like WW at the moment, I hate having to think about everything but you're right, it may just be because I'm new and a bit clueless. However, I do want to give it a fair go and lose a bit more and I think this is the way to do it. I've definitely eaten significantly less over the last 2 days which is great news.

Unfortunately I do feel a bit deprived and I can see how this could lead to a binge because earlier on I was thinking 'I'm never going to be able to stick to my points I may has well have a cake bar now'. I didn't thank goodness as I thought 'I wouldn't do it on SW, I'm not doing it now and I'm not getting into bad habits'. Instead I looked forward to saving it for later and feel I've achieved so it's all good.

(they are a bit on the small side though those cake bars, I was a bit crushed when I actually saw it!)

OK, so today started ok with the porridge as planned. It's now lunchtime though and the prospect of beans on thin toast or my alternative of a cottage cheese salad sandwich and nothing else cos I don't have enough points made me depressed so I've aborted and I'm having a SW day. Already. I've cracked! However, I'm so happy to be back that I could cry. Will see how I feel about WW tomorrow again I think.

Maybe just take it as it comes and like you say go with how you feel. I'm very impressed that you switched to a SW day, so many would have been so p'd off that they'd have said sod it for the whole day ;)

How about trying the simply filling, just for a change ?

I was planning on doing the filling thing, but then I fancied some cheese and cheese isn't allowed, then I thought ok I'll have some cheese and switch to points, then I thought blimey, that's 9 points just for a cheese sandwich which won't see me through til tea so I'll need stuff like a yogurt too, then I started panicking that I wouldn't have enough points left for dinner and a little treat, got depressed and threw in the towel! Pathetic isn't it!!

I have however had a very good SW day and have been very mindful of calories / portions / what the points would be etc. I made chilli for tea and would usually cram it full of beans which seem quite high in points so I kept it mostly quorny which is lower and also didn't have my cheese sprinkle. So, I've still eaten less just without the tears and tantrums!
