Beegee's Green Day Diary

You too are funny :) Looking good with you too Beegee!

Wednesday:

B: FF Yogurt, banana, strawberries, grapes, plums, kiwi

L: Quorn deli slice and salad sandwich (hexb), grapes, plums, Ainsley couscous (1.5), quavers (1). I was picnic-ing this lunchtime again, I seem to be spending half my life in a playground now it's school holidays and I'm never great at knowing what to take for me.

D: Bean and quorn chilli with brown rice and cheese (hexa). Dipper (3)

Toast (hexb) and marmite. If only I could have had lashings of butter on the toast I would have been a happy bunny!

Another week of sts. My body needs to realise I still need to get rid of 2/3 stone and that I should not be maintaining. Have I got some sort of medical issue???!! I'm not really bothered this week though tbh as I'm not going to fall off the wagon so I'm a bit 'whatever' about it.

Today has been:

B: Ryvita (hexb), cottage cheese, strawberries. Trying to be a bit different, it wasn't very nice - wouldn't bother again!

L: Another day another picnic. Savoury rice and salad. Plums, banana, grapes. Hula hoops (2). Quarter of a peanut butter sandwich (half hexb +1)

Snack: Activia yogurt

D: Ainsley Lentil dahl with extra veg and rice. Bottle Stella (5).
Milk (hexa), 1 alpen (half hexb)

I'm now off to make a Highlights (2 syns) and try one of the new toffee Weetabix Oaty Bars which I picked up in Tesco this afternoon. Hope they're nice as I've got 2 boxes of them!
ooooh these sound nice i will have to look out for them, don't get disheartened just stick with it the plan works xx

I think you're doing fab sticking with it Beegee! Its so hard when things dont shift, but you will get there..... I bet it'll surprise you when you least expect it and there'll be a big loss in one go! Thats what I'm hoping for anyway- he he :)

Thanks ladies, I'm looking forward to reporting that big loss believe me! Got a bit of catching up to do as I've been quite busy over the last few days.

Friday:

B: Yogurt, banana, plums, satsuma, melon

L: Out - not another picnic thank god, but a proper restaurant. Had penne arabiata (and ignored all the nice looking pizzas) and one small bit of garlic pizza bread. Never know how to count it but will say 4 for the bit of bread, 6 for oil in the penne (could use a hexb for this if I was tweaking...) so I think 10 is more than generous.

Had an Options when I got back (2), felt like something sweet.

D: Jacket potato, scooped and stuffed with mushroom, onion, sweetcorn, fromage frais and topped with cheese (hexa). Yummy. Activia yogurt.

Fibre Plus (hexb)

Saturday:

B: Yogurt, banana, plums, apricots, kiwi, melon, strawberries

L: Out at lunch time again as we were visiting Buckingham Palace so went to sit in the park first and watch the world go by. Quorn steak sandwich (hexb), strawberries and grapes.

Snack: Pringles (oh goodness) and Stella (20)

D: Chinese takeaway (25)

Sunday:

B: Yogurt, banana, strawberries, melon, plums

L: Hooray - lunch at home for the first time in 6 days! Pasta and Sauce with extra veg and cheese (hexa), Activia yogurt

D: BBQ time: Quorn steaks, corn on cob, salad, potatoes, roll (hexb), couscous (0.5), bbq ketchup (3).
Mikados (1)

Fibre Plus (hexb). Options (2)

Total of 92 syns this week. This coming week is going to be just as ad-hoc as I'm out for most of the days again but I've been to Asda and bought loads of fruit so should be fine. Fingers crossed!

Beegee, just out of interest (feel free to ignore if I'm being too personal!) but what made you decide to become a vegetarian? I've cut back on how much red meat I eat and have played with the idea of being a veggie for a while now but haven't quite gotten the courage to just go for it! During a routine test I discovered that I had high cholesterol  I only just turned 30! Soooo sad :( could be because of all the butter and double cream I was eating after I first had my baby but I was thinking I better cut back on red meat as well. Not sure what my status is now, will retest in Dec when DH and I go back to Australia but I'd love to eventually just eat fish and a bit of chicken now and then... I dunno... I hate restrictions though lol. I'm rambling now LOL!

Hi Honey,

Not personal at all! I turned veggie overnight when I was 15. My mum was defrosting some sort of casserole beef and it was just sitting there in a big dish of blood as it thawed and looked hideous. I stopped eating meat there and then as the idea of eating 'a body' and something that was once living just repelled me.

I don't think I'm a particularly typical vegetarian as I'm no animal lover but I can't abide cruelty so whenever I see those horrible programmes on telly about abatoirs or thousands of chickens living in a tiny shed I'm very glad not to feel responsible in any way! I'm also very strict and don't have any gelatine or animal products in things (as far as I know!) but plenty of veggies don't bother with taking things so far.

How interesting that you've had high cholesterol. I've never had a test but always assume mine would be high-ish too - maybe I should find out. You're such an inventive cook I'm sure you'd cope just fine with any changes you want to make. You don't have to stick a label on yourself though if it makes you feel restricted just do what you're comfortable with. Every little helps and all!

Are you moving to Aus permenantly or just holidaying? Sounds exciting!

You're so right, labelling myself will definitely make me bang against the bars! It's one of the reasons SW works so well for me! Thanks so much for the words of wisdom. I'll jsut base my diet around fish, grains, veggies and if I feel like a big juicy steak I'll have one!

Australia is our second home, my husband is Australian so we go twice a year for around a month at a time. We have an apartment there, and with the super healthy lifestyle and DH's super healthy family  cooking and eating healthy is actually easier there. I always come back slimmer which makes a nice change from my usual holiday weight gain lol!

It's worth getting your cholesterol checked, apparently a lot more people than you think have high levels.

Thanks again for the advice!

You're welcome! How fab to have a 2nd home in Australia. I guess the flights will get interesting now you've got your daughter with you. I've never even taken mine on a short haul. The prospect of packing everything I'd need for them in a 20kg case turns me right off!!

LOL!! We get a generous baggage allowance because we fly business with Singapore air (the BEST!) and because Rosie's still so little, she doesn't really need much... I think! Last time we went she was only 4 weeks old so I didn't need to pack anything really (I'm breastfeeding) just her clothes and nappies. She'll be 10 months when we go again and I'm sure it'll be a bit more challenging!

Aw thanks Sausage, let's hope it's a good one for all of us!

Week 68, monday:

B: Toast (hexb) flora (1), Activia yogurt

L: Picnic-ing again - Had a left over quorn steak from yesterday, savoury rice and salad. Yogurt.

Snack: Strawberries & Grapes, mini brownie bite (2), Skittles (1)

D: Bean and veg chilli and rice, cheese (hexa).
2x alpens (hexb)

Mmmmm chilli, I havent made a chilli for a while. Thanks Beegee, thats on my cooking list soon :)

I make chilli LOADS (have you noticed?!) I do such a quick cheats version most of the time though. One of those tins of mixed beans in tomato sauce, chuck in some quorn mince and some chopped up veg, bit of extra pasatta and a dollop of chilli, heat it up and ready. It's so quick - I'm sure that's why I like it so much!

Tuesday was like this:

B: Banana, kiwi, melon, pineapple, strawberries, ff yogurt

L: Jacket potato with beans, cheese (hexb) and extra veg and salad. Activia yogurt. Mikado (1)

Snack: 1 slice toast and marmite (half hexb)

D: Quorn in a tomato-ey sauce, new potatoes, brocolli, runner beans, carrots.
Milk (hexa), 1 Alpen (half hexb)

Today looks like a good day, I've been working on being calorie conscious and don't think I have gone over my recommended amount today.

Wednesday:

B: Banana, melon, pineapple, strawberry, fromage frais

L: A bit of a move-able feast today as I was out and about again, but basically over a few hours I had: Quorn deli slice and salad sandwich (hexb), mugshot, cherries, activia yogurt, 1 mini brownie bite (2.5), hula hoops (1)

D: Roast vegetable pasta with tomato sauce and cheese (hexa).
Fibre Plus (hexb)

Thursday:

B: Yogurt, banana, kiwi, strawberries, pineapple, melon

L: Sat nursing a diet coke in McDonalds while everyone else chowed down on happy meals and the like so had lunch when I got home - jacket potato, beans, salad, pickled onions, cheese (hexa). Activia yogurt.

Snack: 1 slice toast (half hexb), peanut butter (1)

D: Chickpea dahl, extra veg and rice. Skinny Dipper (3)
Fibre Plus (hexb)

I hope you're all sitting down as this week I can report A LOSS!! Yes, a whole kilo has gone (2.2lbs) which means I've now lost over 40kg. It's amazing when you think how heavy that is, I can't believe I used to carry all that weight around every day without keeling over.

My good work is going to be very rapidly undone today though as I have a day where it's going to be virtually impossible to be good so I probably won't bother trying! I think it's pizza express at lunchtime then beer and curry this evening. Not my finest hour looming here but it doesn't happen every day so I think I'll probably just draw the line and hop right back on plan tomorrow morning. Will confess my (many) syns later!
