Beegee's Green Day Diary

Thanks Valerie, that's really kind of you!

Yesterday wasn't quite the disaster I feared as I managed to avoid Pizza Express at lunchtime so was totally pure til the evening. I had loads of superspeed berries and some of those lovely doughnut peaches during the day then went out and drank 3 pints of lager and went for a curry. It was good though and I'll still be within my syns for the week so not an utter nightmare.

Today I'm straight back to it and my day will be like this:

B: yogurt, banana, strawberries, raspberries, peach

L: Savoury rice with extra veg and cheese (hexa). Yogurt. Cherries & grapes.

D: Quorn and veg spag bol. My daughter is making this for us (with some assistance - she's only 5!) and usually does a very good job so I'm looking forward to it.

Will use hexb's for something as a snack or later on this evening.

I've been to Asda this morning and stocked up on loads of fruit for the week and am feeling very positive about things. We're out at friends for lunch tomorrow which might scupper me a bit, but they know I'm on the diet so may have given that some consideration (fingers crossed!).

You're right SS, imagine getting under 30 bmi!! It's these little milestones that keep me going tbh. I'm close to getting to 6.5 stone too so there are a couple of them looming. It helps you hang in there if you keep achieving along the way doesn't it.

Today has been a bit tricky as we've been at friends. I just ate miniscule amounts to stay on track but can only really guestimate syns.

B: Yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, banana, kiwi, peach

L: 1 small spoon couscous salad, 1 small spoon bean salad, salad leaves. 1 small slice of quiche but I left all the pastry. Couple of bites of white bread. Couple of bites of danish pastry. Am guessing 10-12 syns for this, could write some off against hexa for cheese in the quiche or hexb for the bread if I was tweaking (as if!). It's difficult going to people's houses as I can't be rude and not eat anything but also don't want to spend loads of syns on stuff I'm not fussed about eating. Think I did ok here but was a bit starving when I got home so had a wholemeal roll (hexb) and some cherries.

D: Bean and meat free mince chilli, cheese (hexa). Activia yogurt.

This brings me to a total of 99 syns for the week so fairly close to the maximum but just within limits. Next week is going to be just as tricky with 3 or 4 social events planned when I'm at somebody elses mercy so can only hope for the best.

What a fruity, vegetably day I had yesterday to launch week 69!

B: Yogurt, banana, blueberries, strawberries, nectarine, kiwi

L: Superspeed soup. Aubergine dip (thanks Honeyoc, it was good!) with roll (hexb). Activia yogurt.

Snack: Strawberries, peaches, grapes. Cheese (hexa) and pineapple

D: Quorn and veg stirfry with rice and homemade sweet and sour sauce.

Highlights (2), Oaty bar (hexb)

I'm feeling mighty virtuous after that lot!

Tuesday:

B: Yogurt, banana, strawberries, nectarines, pineapple

L: Pasta and Sauce, extra veg, cheese (hexa). Activia yogurt. Mikado (1)

Snack: Krisprolls (hexb), cottage cheese, pineapple, nectarine

D: Quorn peppered steak, new potatoes, brocolli, carrots, cauliflower, gravy (1). Skinny Dipper (3)

Fibre Plus (hexb)

Not much interesting to report at the moment. I'm currently tracking a 1lb gain so am hoping that will disappear by tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath for a good result!

B: Ruby Grapefruit, nectarine, strawberries, melon, ff yogurt. I really fancied something different for breakfast today but because I've got so much fruit I have to use it up. Watch this space tomorrow incase I can be more adventurous!

L: Out again so had the following over a couple of hours: Roll (hexb) with quorn deli slices, banana, mugshot, activia yogurt.

D: Tomato & veg pasta bake, cheese (hexa)

Choc weetabix (hexb +2), milk (hexa) - not really sure why I had these except I was still a bit peckish and haven't had them for ages and quite fancied them. I suppose that's a good a reason as any?!

So, I sts this week. Normal service has been resumed!

B: Toast (hexb), flora (1) and marmite. Activia yogurt.

L: Flipping starving by lunchtime. Little diddy slices of bread just don't do it for me. So had - peppered quorn steak, jacket potato, beans. Mikado (0.5)

Snack: Melon, nectarine, pineapple, cottage cheese. Activia yogurt.

D: Bean chilli, brown rice, cheese (hexa). Cherry Garcia (7.5) - don't usually have this much, but the tub was nearly empty and it seemed silly to leave it. Any excuse hey?!

Catch up time!

I was out on Friday and went to Prezzo with my sister for a big natter and catch up. I chose the Penne Arrabiata, spent some syns on some of that nice garic bread with caramelised onions and mozarella (hexa) and a cappucino (hexa). I'd been good all day so am guessing around 15 syns for the lot.

Saturday we were at a friends, she did a bbq and I did my usual trick when visiting people of just putting enough on my plate not to look rude in an attempt to stay good. I had a couple of veggie burgers (the half syn each ones) a couple of potatoes and a big handful of salad. Spent some syns on ketchup and literally a spoonful of her pudding (cheesecakey type thing which was gorgeous). By the time I got home I was feeling quite deprived and had 2 malted milk bics (4.5) and a cup of tea. Oh goodness, they were so lovely I could easily have done half the packet (minimum). Biscuits are one of those things I can just hoover up so I've barely had them since I started. These were a timely reminder that I'm better off staying away!

Today I've been good again. I'm feeling a bit peeved about not having a blow out this weekend but its kept my syns down to 58 for the week which is good. Shame that it's bloating week and I won't see the benefits of it!

Monday, Week 70:

B: Banana, melon, pineapple, yogurt

L: Pasta, veg and tomato sauce, 42g cheese (hexa). Yogurt, grapes.

Snack: Weetabix (hexb), milk (half hexa)

D: Quorn steak, carrots, cauli, brocolli, mash, gravy (2)

Fibre Plus. Skinny Cow ice cream (4.5)

Tuesday:

B: Beans & mushrooms on toast (hexb)

L: Savoury rice with extra veg, grapes, melon, nectarine, yogurt. Mikado (1)

Snack: Sliver of pizza I made with the kids for their tea this afternoon (2)

D: Pasta bake (hexa x1.5). Skinny Cow (4.5)

Forgot to mention that I went shopping over the weekend for clothes and was able to buy things in H&M in a 16. I took a handful of stuff into the changing room and it all fitted nicely and it all looked good.

I was very pleased about that (obviously!), but my mind has still not caught up with my body. I can't quite grasp that I can now pick stuff of the shelf in most stores and haven't even been in shops like Dorothy Perkins, Top Shop, Next etc as it's literally years since I've been able to buy stuff in them. I think at some point I'll just have to have a mooch round the shops and see which ones sells things I like, rather than just pick up stuff in Tesco or Asda. It's a very unfamiliar state of affairs, but I like it!

hi :wavey: beegee i thought i would pop by and see how ur doing, i also sts this week was a bit peeved but then realised i hadn't drunk any water this week (i usually try to aim for 2 ltrs a day) so operation drink loads of water is on for this week plus loads of superspeed to try and get a decent loss for next week  good luck for ur next weigh in x

Hey Beegee - well done on your shopping spree :) Its such a nice feeling to get into the smaller sizes isnt it ! I must admit I do buy alot from the supermarket as its much quicker than going into town. The other week when I bought my wedding outfit I did remind myself that I should go proper clothes shopping a bit more often and now you've reminded me again! Hows your week going ?

Hi everyone,

Sausage - funny you should ask, it's my birthday tomorrow :). I'm enjoying my last night in my thirties - yikes!! I do feel as though I've achieved up to a point. It wasn't my original aim to reach target by now, but it seemed like a good idea when I was losing fairly steadily. Now I'm not losing at the same pace so that's been scuppered, but generally I'm pleased to have come this far. Maybe by the time I'm 41 I will have got to target!

I've been away for a long weekend as a pre-birthday treat - I didn't get time to mention it before we went as things got a bit hectic. We went to Bournemouth for the Air Festival which was great, lovely weather great stuff to watch but obviously marred somewhat by the awful Red Arrows crash. They did such incredible flying it's hard to believe it all went so wrong so close to landing :(.

Anyway, all that said ... I'd made a very conscious decision to have a weekend off plan. I've not done that in the entire time I've been on SW, I had a day off at Christmas, but that's been it. So, knowing I was going to be at the mercy of an all you can eat buffet breakfast and living in a hotel with no fridge or cooking facilities etc there wasn't much chance of sticking to plan. I didn't go mad, but just ate like a 'normal' person - lots of toast and cereal at breakfast, the occasional chocolate biscuit during the afternoon, a few beers, dinner at Pizza Hut (not my fault honestly - the kids fancied it!) all stuff which has been absolutely not allowed for the last 16 months!

I've been back on plan today and have found it easy to get to it, but I will be off again tomorrow for my birthday. I'll then be back on it, but we're going on holiday for a week on saturday so it's not going to be a very successful end to the month! I will however be sticking to it as much as possible on holiday as we're self catering and what I've done previously is to be extra good during the day and then make sensible choices in the evenings. That's the plan anyway.

I'm off to catch up with everybody now, it was weird not being here for a few days and I want to find out how you're all doing!

Thanks ladies - how sweet of you. Cool cake SS - it must at the very least have a free food allowance with all that veg on the top!

Thanks Valerie. I did have a good day, nothing too exciting just a nice time with my family and I'm thankfully totally un-traumatised by now being so ancient! (Just noticed how close to target you are btw - will be checking out your diary to see how you do it!)

So, tuesday was off plan but I have got straight back to it on weds and thurs without any issues. I'm taking this as a big positive that I can have a day off and not have it ruin my entire week/month/year! etc.

Wednesday:

B: Banana, yogurt, strawberries, melon, pineapple, mandarin

L: Pasta and sauce, extra veg, 42g cheese (hexa). Activia yogurt.

Snack: Toast (hexb) and honey (1.5)

D: Quorn and veg stir fry with rice.
Fibre Plus (hexb)

Thursday:

B: Yogurt, banana, strawberries, melon, Fruit & Fibre (hexb)

L: Savoury Rice, Activia yogurt.

Snack: Banana, corn on the cob

D: Quorn bolognese with cheese (hexa)

Alpens (hexb), Highlights (2)

We were out all day today at Chessington World of Adventures which was great (albeit wet!). This is another milestone for me as since I got too big I have avoided fairground rides like the plague for fear of not fitting in them. Today I felt fairly confident that I'd be ok and didn't have to come up with a load of excuses about why I didn't want to go on. How liberating! Also though, how necessary - most of the rides needed the kids to be accompanied and if I hadn't fitted on I would have embarrassed myself and ruined everybodies day. Yet another timely reminder of why starting SW was one of the best decisions I ever made!!
