Beelishy's VLCD Weight Loss Adventure!!

Morning :) Its Sunday WI and the PROPER start of my October Challenge. On the first of October I was 247 ( I think. I will double check) and I want to get to 240 by Halloween. This morning the scales were kind and Im back down to my lowest weight yet - 246. So I have 6lbs to lose in 17 days. I should be able to do that. MUST have a day JUST like yesterday. Stuck to packs. No problem. The exception to that is Wednesday Im meant to be going out to lunch with a friend but Im going to have chicken and salad and drop a pack for the day. And then draw a line. So yes. Focus!

I feel even MORE motivated now that I havent lost any of my progress. Whew. Im so close to being out of the 240s! Imagine if I actually am UNDER 240 by the 31st! That would amazing.

ONWARD!

Tabby was ok through the night. Im really hoping she was just exhausted and the sleep has done her some good. She's still in, asleep with her daddy. Zoe, my youngest, woke up around 7 so I whisked her away into the sitting room so Tabs could sleep more.

Today is a day for grocery shopping. Boo. Yay. LOL. I hate going, but I love having a nice full fridge and cupboards.

Just updated my MFP and it really hit me when it said ive now lost 52lbs. Thats since Zoe was born in May last year...but still..considering all the time in there that I was NOT dieting or even watching what I was eating, or not sticking to plan...thats fantastic progress!!

Im getting there!!!! I CAN do this.

I went to tesco this morning to do my food shop. I decided not to eat before i went because i was running later than i wanted to be anyway...and i just wanted to go and get back. it was horrible. there were snacky things and all the lovely halloween and christmas treats out. oh man. but. i got through it and was fine. i rang for my taxi at 11:45 and i waited an HOUR in the rain and cold and wind. :( I was miserable and starving and freezing. So as soon as i got in i started to put things away while telling myself over and over that a binge or a snack or a treat was NO GOOD and would ruin my progress. i got everything put away and then got lunch ready for the hubby and my girls. i was washing grapes and had 8 :/ but. Its fruit. I cant get mad at myself for having a couple of bites of fruit. ive added it to MFP and its 13 cals and 3 carbs. not the end of the world. I finally got to myself and i made a coffee with 3 spoons of milk ( i like it better than black adn for the sake of 2 extra carbs a day - no biggie. ice drastically cut back on the milk. so thats good), grabbed a bar and made pancakes. I had most of my bar and my pancakes and my coffee and then i was stuffed. lol. i will save the rest of the bar for tonight after dinner. I can have it with some coffee. Im a bit behind on water...only had 2L so far. But I will get the rest in after we have a nap. Im shattered. All in all...not a bad day...diet-wise, so far. I bought a swede (a portion) to try. Im going to try mashing it to have with some chilli on top. I miss potatoes LOL.

ooh. I never posted this. wrote it a few hours ago!! lol
 
I had swede mash last night. Really boil it! It takes a bit longer than you'd expect!! I had mine with veggie sausages! Yum xx

a 2lb drop overnight... 244lbs. Im ecstatic. :D!

Oooh. swede mash is happening tonight!! for sure! how did you season it? since we cant use butter or milk/cream....did you just salt the water sammy? mmm mash wish a chili pack on top. i cant wait!! :D

Having my coffee now. Will have my water and then a porridge pack later.

Its a TERRRRIBLE day out. We are in the middle of a ridiculous downpour. Winter is definitely upon us. Boooo!

How is everyone getting on?
 
I actually forgot to salt the water! But after it was boiled I used some pepper and mashed away!! Enjoy.
We've got deceiving sunshine today where it looks nice but is actually freezing!! Xx

Im in a great mood!

I cant believe Ive made it to 244. 4lbs to go to 240 AND THEN I WILL BE IN THE 230s! Im half a stone under my lowest weight of the past 9 years (since gaining all the weight after i moved here). *happy happy dance* Also, Im 17st 6lbs. Which means....less than half a stone to go until im in the 16s. Haha. I know. Im being obnoxious, obvious and just blabby. But I AM SO EXCITED. Im pleased with my progress. Very. Im excited to keep going. Must. Not. Have. another. Day. Off. Plan. EVER. hahaha :p
 
Happy Happy Tuesday morning everyone!

My baby will be 4 in less than 4 weeks. I am FREAKING OUT. LOL. Not really freaking out. But AAAAACK! lol. I have to order some food colour gels for her cake. She wants another rainbow cake. This seems to be a tradition now. lol. All three of her cakes have been rainbow (the cake inside is rainbow) so when i asked her what she wanted this year she said "ariel of a rainbow". hahaha ok. So its going to be a princess ariel (ive already bought the ariel doll to go inside and the cake part will be the dress) (and i mean ariel as a girl, not a mermaid) and the inside with be rainbow. My child clearly doesnt know the sad limits to my baking/cake decorating. I will have a go though! lol.

Anyway. Scales this mornng were being nice to me again.

Been absolutely fine on plan again. THANK GOODNESS Im back in my groove. Im going to lunch tomorrow BUT....I will have my chicken and salad and draw a line. We are going to Chiquitos so Im going to have the fajita chicken salad but ask for the dressing to be on the side. Shouldnt be too bad. And I will drop a pack tomorrow. I may fluctuate up a bit but its ok. Im not going to stress. :) We're actually going to the Metro Centre with my friend (the girls are coming with me) so there will be quite a lot of walking done too. Hopefully that will balance everything out. lol. I just MUST remember to drink my water. :)

So that means Im 1lb off losing 4 stone since Zoe was born in May of last year. And considering a LOT of that time I wasnt trying. Like...I didnt start actively trying to lose weight until Feb of this year when I started S&S the first time. Then that lasted all of 3 weeks. Then i was off plan but trying to watch what I ate....and then I went on holiday back home and ate a bunch of crap but managed to lose like 5lbs?! Haha. And then I got back and did a bit of this and a bit of that...until finally starting Exante on Sept 1st. And ive probably had about 1.5-2 weeks of being off plan and struggling in that time....So im pretty happy. I have quite a way to go yet, but its not nearly as daunting as it was. For now, Ive got my eyes firmly fixed on 240 and Im going for it. :D

And on other news...

Swede is VERY NICE! I made a 150g portion yesterday. It wasnt much, lemme tell ya. Its much more dense than say, cauliflower (you get loads for 150g! lol) but I decided to maka half as chips and half as mash. I prefer the chips. I did half the chips with just salt (and fry light) and the other half with smoked paprika, salt and garlic powder. OMG. Tasted like smoky bbq. YUM. I have some more which I will probably have later in the week. I dont know if I will get it very often as I love cauliflower and its easier to prepare and you get more of it (haha!) but when i want chip type things.....DEFINITELY swede.

I cant believe how well you have done kelly, im so happy for you. 1 pound away from 4 stone is fantastic, you are such an inspiration. So after my first week on slim and save i jumped on the scales yesterday morning and i have lost 8lb!!! Im so pleased wth myself. I was struggling at the start a little because i was unsure of what plan to go on but i have found that the simplicity works for me. I feel like i should go and give myself a treat, maybe a trip down town to the shops! hehe (I think i just love spending the money i havent got! lol ) Well maybe window shopping then! So im going to work m hardest and see if i can get another good loss this week.
Unfortunately im not a big fan of swede mash, but you have just motivated me to try and make swede chips. Here it goes tonight then, wish me luck! (darn i hate cutting up swede!) xoxox :happy036:

Swede mash isnt amazing, is it? Its NOTHING like mashed taters. LOL. Theres NO creaminess to it at all. It didnt taste bad. It just sorta had the texture like...it had been chewed. haha ew. It was fine though. I just wont bother. HOWEVER...in future when I make "normal" mash, I may try to add in half swede and half potatoes and see if the hubs notices. It wouldnt do him any harm to cut his carb intake. Ahem. lol. Swede chips were nice but Im wondering if there is anyway to get them a bit...crispy. Mine werent. But they tasted lovely! It was a lot of work though. LOL. ugh.

Im quite pleased with my progress so far. I would love to see 240 or less by THIS weigh in on Sunday...but i think thats expecting a bit much, especially as Im going to lunch tomorrow and Ive already lost 3lbs this week...since Sunday. So we shall see.

Arghhhhhhhh. LOL Yesterday I saw 243.8 and today - randomly - 245.6 - its obviously IMPOSSIBLE that its actual weight. But Man. SOOO annoying. I was hungry yesterday so i had a babybel in the afternoon and then last night I had an egg and an egg white, scrambled. So I know thats what it was. But Its so frustrating.

Im not entirely sure how to go about food today. Im going to Chiquito and having the Chicken Fajita salad. This is the description -

Fajita chicken -chargrilled chicken breast and roasted fajita vegetables topped with guacamole, sour cream and salsa

I can get the sauces on the side (or have them leave them off, in fact) but I have no idea what the carb/cals content is and I cant find nutritional info on it. Ive looked on their site and on MFP. Im going to poke around a bit more. But if i dont find it...what should I do about packs? I had planned on having a pack for breakfast....the salad for lunch and a pack for dinner tonight. But maybe I should just have a scrambled egg or two for breakfast and again for dinner. Higher cals but no carbs?! And just get back on packs tomorrow?

Or a pack for dinner and egg for breakfast? Or should I just do my 2 packs as planned and the salad for lunch and then be back on packs fully tomorrow? lol. Ugh. I dunno.

I dont even really want to go now that my weight has creeped up FOR NO REASON. lol. bleh.

Morning! Scales can be mean! I swear they have their own personality and mood swings and take it out on us! Ha ha!
As for your chicken fajitas, try to estimate the weight and pop it into MFP as grilled chicken and peppers and onions. Try to log it as best you can. See what cals/carbs come up and then decide on a low carb day or packs. You can put chicken fajitas in and then put the wraps in to see what the value is on them, delete the wraps off and delete the carbs/cals off of the fajitas in your head to have the carb/cals of the chicken and veg?! If that makes sense?!! It's early! Xx
