Berry's diary

Thanks t2g , pleased to report I am actually feeling a lot better today I think having two lie ins and some rest has helped,

Yesterday's food...

B
Nestlé purple bar (I know! But all the Xmas chocs were on sale in waitrose! 16p!)
Cuppa 30
Strawberries 28

L
Covent garden Souter greens soup 180
Skinny cow lolly 95

D
Turkey bolognese made with:
Turkey mince 263
Courgette 9
Red onion 16
Red pepper 16
Mushrooms 13
Tinned tomatoes 44
Quinoa 91

S
Homemade popcorn made in butter with tsp sugar & salt 280
Mint aero Christmas tree 146

TOTAL 1419 but maybe a bit more as I had some chilli sauce with my dinner and a tsp of Parmesan . That recipe is delish with all the veg and so filling , with quinoa instead of rice/pasta it's really low carb too.

Didn't clock up hardly any steps yesterday on my fitbit but went to meet some girlfriends in angel today for coffee so am nearer 10,000 today!

Not looking forward to work tomorrow but hopefully won't be too bad especially now I am feeling better. Need to get back into the gym!

What is Quinoa? I've heard of it a few times but don't actually know what it is.

Glad you are feeling better and enjoy the gym x

Um it's like a grain sort of? Usually in the health food but next to bulgar wheat etc its consistency is a bit like cous cous. It's mega high protein - would recommend. I cook it in stock which makes it really tasty and its nice hot or cold :)

dont think mhy husband would go for that lol x

I also got over 10,000 steps done.

I didn't like any of the classes at the gym this evening so I am going to get at least 10,000 steps (walk 1/2 way home) and then do the Shred once I get back. I must do the Shred, I was supposed to have done it every weekday in Jan and still haven't started!!! Can't wait til its light again in the evenings so I can run outside properly.

You are doing so well with all those steps

Thanks DD :) I love walking around London. My brother works for John Lewis though so is on his feet all day - he clocks up sooooooo many steps its unreal. I wonder if I tap my feet under the desk it will register as steps?

Yesterdays fooooood.......

B
Cup of tea 30

L
Cucumber 30
Strawberries 28

D
200g waitrose roast chicken (rotissere) 366
Fine green beans 41
Mushrooms 13
Courgette 9
250g baby new potatoes 168
Mint aero xmas tree 146

S
Wafer thin ham 78
Dried prunes 149

FOOD TOTAL 1,058 actually a bit more because I never count the olive oil I use in cooking and I used it for sauteeing the veg and baking the potatoes last night.

STEPS TOTAL 8,630

I managed to force myself to start Shred, so Level 1 Day 1 done and now I must continue otherwise I won't feel the benefit and will just have to keep restarting over and over.

I am soooooooo rubbish at press-ups!

This evening if I finish work at a reasonable time, I'll walk to Kings Cross and then do the Shred before I cook dinner.

Well done in the shred x

Dinner sounds really nice might have to try that, it's amazing how many steps we can do really with A few changes

I know, I totally agree and how once that pedometer is clipped on it does make me walk up escalators etc just to tot up my total!!

You should def try the dinner it was really yum. I made the baby potatoes into hedgehog potatoes like my mum used to! Basically you slice them about 1/2 way or 3/4 way through so they stay intact but have stripes if you get me? Then sprinkle salt and loads of black pepper, drizzle olive oil or spray with frylight and bake till they go crispy on the outside. I will take a photo next time I do them, but they are the best!!:D
The veg was a really nice combination all mixed together too.

However I am craving something saucy/spicy/carby so going to have tomato tuna spaghetti this eve I think. Hungry just thinking about it!

We are having our kitchen renovated next week so it will be out of action the whole time... hope this doesn't tip me off the wagon on the diet!Won't be able to have packlunches either as we won't have a fridge! eeek! Considering staying at bfs parents the whole week but I hate planning my work outfits/gym kit etc so I'd rather sleep at the flat I think. We will be having the whole place decorated in the coming months and that will be a massive job so will definitely have to move to theirs for a while then.

Had a really busy morning at work but now looking forward to day end as I just want to get Day 2 of Shred done and dusted!

Hedgehog potatoes sound awesome!!! They are going on the shopping list!!! X

I do them with a baked potato with a slice of galirc in every second slice or so. Really delicious. I'm going that again! X

Brill idea we love garlic nice with a chicken breast and salad mmmmm guess what we having for tea tommz night!

Ooh good idea with the garlic- bet that it tasty!

Managed to get Day 2 of the Shred done, have to admit I do cheat about 3 times throughout it at the mo- hopefully will be completing it all 100% properly soon. Usually have to skip a couple of the squat and press and a few press ups! Muscles are really sore today, I should stretch for a lot longer afterward as the cool down is really perfunctory.

I am aching today after day 1!! And I didn't know I had abs! They are hurting too!!

SM hope you are well!!

I am starving, just had to have some shapers crisps (73 cals) bit pointless as they don't even touch the sides but I need salt/crunch so there we go. Nothing else to eat at work now except a few bits of my fruit left, so will have a cup of tea at three and power on through this afternoon without chewing my own arm off! I had a meeting 11-12.30 and they put little packs of biscuits out... ninja mind control... a choc chip shortbread would have gone down a treat!

So glad you have started Shred too LJ ! I think I am crap at abs as never really feel pain there which suggests I am not doing the exercises properly. I am feeling it in my arms mainly and also my thighs. Looking forward to Day 3 this eve
