Bev - Round 2

Delighted for you Bev! Hopefully the losses will continue to be as good as last time!! Here's to another great week and hopefully a stone down!

Well done hun thats fab!

Wow Bev that's brilliant well done :) xxx

Fantastic Bev, what a brilliant start!

On day 10 of exante now and all going fine. So glad I enjoy all the flavours (just not vanilla much) as it makes it so much easier. I've got loads of energy and can still do my workouts as before without any trouble. After the first week, I think the hard work starts now but it's got to be done!

My boss' birthday yesterday and he came in after lunch with a huge box of milk tray (my favourite of course) and a big cadbury flake cake offering everybody some. Found it very easy to say no though. Workmates can't believe my willpower. But like I said to them, how come I can do it now but when I'm eating I can't resist anything? Got to work on that for maintaining this time.

Did realise something though, my problem with eating, one of the things I do is seem to sneak food. I like to eat without anybody else seeing me do it. Any ideas why I do that? I'm not thinking if nobody sees me it doesn't count so what else could it be? Any ideas very welcome. Really want to sort out my problems before maintaining if possible. Sorry to ramble on so much.

Maybe it could be that if someone sees you eating treats, you may think they are thinking things like that's what causes her to have to diet etc. I dont sneak food, but I sometimes too think that people are looking at me when I eat things and thinking - she'll be back on the diet again soon etc.

That's really interesting about the sneaking food thing!!

I'm kinda the opposite - and if I do have something baaaad when on my own (not deliberately on my own, just if I happen to be on my own), I tell all and sundry about it - not really questioned why before, but probly as a confessional thing and to make it more real and therefore hopefully limit damage there. I suspect if I didn't do that, it may leave door open to 'sneaking' and cheating myself - and quite easily descending into thinking along lines of "I've had 3 biscuits, might as well finish packet'

I think a food diary is a MUST for you!!! and/or always make urself tell some1 what u ate on your own, whether good or bad, normal meals or not!!

Well done on all so far aswell ... Ur doing soooperb!

Just treats Bev? Or do you prefer to eat meals on your own too?

Ooooh yes, im completly the same. Couple people in work have passed comments too about oh you shouldnt be eating that. It really gets on my nerves. I also tell Stevie everything I eat. Not sure why and im sure he must be fed up of it but I always tell him oh i had such and such for lunch today and if i do have something like crisps, or chocolate i will always say ooooh i had this today too.

Face it up front Bev, I think a diary would defo be beneficial for you once your back to refeeding and maintaining aslong as you do write absolutly everything down.

Were all in the same boat on here so were not going to judge you one bit if you have a piece of chocolate but we will be there to help you if you feel like your getting a little out of control :) xxx

Keeping a food diary on mfp, and on here most of the time (when I've got time!) is working for me.......I don't think that I'm going to give up mfp for a long, long time! I don't go out of my way to stick to my 'allowance' rather I put in what I've eaten at the end of the day and see how it comes out.....so far so good:D

Thanks for all the advice.

It's only snacks that I seem to eat by myself. Meals I'm fine eating with people or in restaurants. The extra snacks that I KNOW I shouldn't be eating are what I will eat without anyone seeing. I think a food diary is the way forward too. Will do that once finished with exante this time.

Trying to get this problem sorted in my head whilst on exante and talking it over with hubby. He's being as supportive as ever, so I'm lucky there. He suggested (as somebody on here did) about changing our routine in the evening to stop me doing it. Another great thought!

Glad you are thinking about everything and considering changing things Bev, you can only try them and see if they work.

Remember though, there is nothing we shouldnt be eating - we can have what we want but in moderation :) xxx

That's lovely that your Husband is being very supportive to you Bev, and just think, summer is coming up, you could be going for long romantic walks after work, and that will stop your snacking.

You are doing brilliant as always Bev, and I think you will do great when re-feeding/maintaining if you list absolutely everything here on what you eat. It definitely does make you think twice about eating it. Not saying it stops you, but you do consciously do more thinking.

As the saying goes "write before you bite!" :D xxx

I really take my hat off to you Bev. Just tried to start tfr again and it isn't happening! When is your next weight in?

My week 2 weigh in is on Tuesday and I can't wait. I've not been on the scales since last Tuesday and am desperate to know what's happening. Can't believe I've weaned myself off weighing everyday but really glad I have.

Thanks for all the above advice ladies. It always makes sense to me but doing it is another matter. I really am trying to sort my head out about things while I'm on TFR. We already plan to go for walks in the summer evenings across our prom to get us out the house and a little extra exercise is always good.

Lovely weather down here today, really warm. Give it another month and we'll be in the garden sunbathing! Got to get a pre-tan for holiday at end of June! Can't wait for holiday now. Not long to go.

I shall be joining you!!! not in your garden of course!! :giggle:

Had a nice weekend, lovely weather down here. Dried loads of clothes outside and had a nice walk across our prom. Sat down halfway through looking out over the bay. Lovely!! Extra exercise all welcome.

Weigh day tomorrow and getting anxious. Not sure why. I've been 100% again this week, just want to see the results I suppose.
