Bev - Round 2

I love reading about ur badminton Bev - I really wish I could find an activity that I enjoy!

Glad 2 hear ur mum and dad are ok x

That's the problem though isn't it! Finding a healthy activity that we really enjoy cos if we don't, we just wont keep it up. I wish I could play badminton about 3 times a week, I definitely would if I could.

I've yet to find something I look forward to doing ... doubt if i will now
Happy for you though Bev :D - could you not play another day a week as well?? xx

There is another club I could go to at our leisure centre but apparently there's a bit of monster running it. Very stuck up and not very friendly. Wont be going there!

My snacking isn't too bad this week. Really trying to cut back. This really is my problem area. Once I get into the frame of mind that I want it, I'll have it, things can really get out of hand. I will keep trying though.

Have my match tonight. We're playing the same team as last week, a university team, so you can imagine they are all about 19! We are all old enough to be their parents, some of us even old enough to be their grandparents!! We think that's funny, especially as we beat them last week. Here's to a good match tonight and hopefully another win.

Hubby working this saturday morning so not planning on doing much over the weekend, just the usual taking it easy!

Hope everyone has a good weekend. See you next week!

Bev, snacking or plain pigging out come evening time has been my downfall In the past and could be again if I allow it!. It's the toughest habit to break so don't despair.
I now keep a pack of sugar free gum handy, just for something to chew! I also think I just need to keep my hands occupied so I keep a puzzle book by the settee or I often just get up and go and do something if a strong urge comes. For me it's just old deep seated conditioning:
Tv watching= must have food
Enjoyment= must have food
Being with friends= must have
Fri night= must have food
Any excuse= must have food!!!!
I think back to when I did TFR and how I had to resist snacking. Maintaining has to be no different for me.
Dig deep hon for the strength to resist temptation 80% of the time.
Have a good weekend.

Hope u can curve the snacking bev. If not then snack on healthy things? Tis hard to break a habit tho isn't it.

Hope match went well this evening :) have a great weekend xxx

Hope the match went well. Have a great weekend :) xx

The match was really good, we won 7-2! They're a young team but with some good players so we were really pleased with the result. Have another match on Friday but not sure if I'm needed to play in that one yet. Afterall, I am only a sub this year. Because I'm enjoying playing again so much, next year I will put myself forward to play in teams that I am needed in, not just a sub.

Had a lovely stew made in the slow cooker for tea yesterday and my snacking was cut down a lot this weekend. Feel as though I did pretty well.

Not feeling great today though, haven't had any brekkie yet cos I'm feeling a little bit sickie today. Keep getting waves of sickness. Not sure why though.

I have some quite dry biscuits with me if I feel peckish later but don't really feel like eating anything.

My daughter came to see us last night and it looks like the wedding is likely to be the beginning of June next year. They will be booking everything after Christmas so will know for definite then. Not long really!!

Oh wow Bev, Christmas will just be over and you will be full on wedding planning!!

Well done on curbing the snack monster!!!

Well done on your win and also winning the snacking war ;)

Exciting about the wedding :D

Hope you're feeling better  xx

Hope you feel better now Bev, must be horrible to not want to eat ;) Only joking, I just wish it would happen to me sometimes... :)

Good job on the snacking front, keep it up till Xmas celebrations, then plan, plan, plan and plan some more for that June Wedding.

Well done on the game Bev :) Hope you felt better at some point today xx

Still not feeling brilliant today but will get on with things. Went into town with my youngest last night to help her buy something for hubby's birthday on saturday. She's got him a game for his PSP so he should be happy with that. He really appreciates anything they get him anyway. Got my wrapping paper too, must do that later.

We're off out for a meal on saturday night followed by a karaoke. Hubby loves it so no better way for him to celebrate his birthday than a little bit of singing (helps that he's really good to, wish I was!).

I am a brilliant singer, but unfortunately only when I am pi$$ed lol. Otherwise, not very good at all.

I am sure he will love his new game, and I hope he had a fantastic night. Whats his best song Bev?

One of his best songs Mary is Baby I Love You by the Ramones and any Elvis too. He's really good, very annoying!! I'm not brave enough to go up and sing, I did once on holiday but that's it.

Got the phone call last night, I am playing in another match on Friday night. This one will be much tougher and we aren't expected to win so if we play really well, who knows! We've got quite a strong team out too so you never know. Really looking forward to it already. I quite like being the underdog too, not so much pressure and it's a real buzz if you win any! Fingers crossed!

Wrapped hubby's birthday pressies last night while he was out visiting his mum. I have so much xmas wrapping to do but I'm putting it off. Might do it next Tuesday as I am off work. Off shopping with my daughter on Monday for some bits and bobs, should be fun.

Oh go him, maybe we will see him on Britains got Talent next year :)

I am cheating with the wrapping this year, I have just bought some bigs bags, and I will wrap most of the stuff in tissue paper, just leaving the larger items to be wrapped - I hate wrapping presents.

Singing is a great talent. Just not one I was blessed with but I do admire anyone who can!

Had a half day at work yesterday, went home at 12pm. Nice to finish early for a change. Walked to mum and dad's, then walked into town and had a bit of a mooch around and then home. Anything's better than working!

No badminton club for me tonight cos I have a match tomorrow night and I found last week doing 2 nights in a row was a bit too much for me. My knee has been a bit stiff since Friday so want to be OK for the match tomorrow night.

Only today and tomorrow in work and then I have loooong weekend, back to work on Wednesday. Then I have the following Monday off too. This is all time off in lieu of overtime, rather than the money, like most of you I prefer the extra time off too!!
