where is gem? it seems really rather quiet in here without her :D when is she due back? sunday?

well i'm tucking into another bowl of special k. i have the munchies again today. my tummy is rumbling. i think it may be because i've started having brekkie at 7am when i get to work and my body is waking up a bit earlier... still. not great, ha.

Thanks for the welcomes!

This forum is sooo addictive!! I am never going to get any work done ever since I can check it here! ohhh well

I am munching grapes and blueberries! I am proud as I am actually enjoying them too, they are really fresh and tasty! and a punnet of blueberries was the same price as a snickers! so I am chuffed :)

Abi you are going to have Special K and apples coming out of your ears since it's all you've eaten yesterday and today!! ha, that would be painful :(

would smart a bit wouldn't it...

another addict :D there's plenty of us here, ha.

i am so jealous of your market fruit :( i miss the farmers market all the time and we don't have a convenient fruit and veg shop. looks like i'm going to have to find an inconvenient one...

We have a fairly decent fruit and veggie market in town, I pop in there sometimes.

Where I work in the centre of Newcastle there is an indoor market down the road, it is soooo good for anything! there are about 5 fruit and veg stalls, some self service and some you ask for your stuff, then there are about 5 butchers (not that i use them as I'm a veggie) and then there is a bread shop, an Asian food shop that's great for noodles, and a cheese counter :D and a cheap chemist for shampoo and things, and a few cheap card shops... ohhh and there is a Doc Martin shop! but I try not to look at that one too often as I always want some!

So yeah it's great in there! you really can get anything! there are florists and optitians and sweet shops, oh and a great second hand book shop.. and a comic shop... erm... loooads! ha. I spend most of my lunch times in there!

i finally got to see the DM shop only to have to run away when i actually found the boots of my dreams. and i don't even particularly like shoes. they were all red and lovely... and £100... never mind :)

can't really go anywhere other than an office complex that has a starbucks, an expensive luxury sandwich shop and a tescos in it. it does also have a panini place and a jacket potato/sandwich place, but those are both rather pricey and cunningly not that healthy unless you get the yucky items...

we are close to the city centre but not close enough to really spend any time there. once you get there you have to turn around and go back...

if you guys could go anywhere in the world. nothing holding you back, not money or time or effort, where would you go?

Ohhh good question!!

I would definatly go back in time!

Oh i know to Woodstock in the 60s! that would be ace!!

Or to a day in court in Henry 8th times... or Victorian London.. ok those are a bit dangerous and in the UK!

Humm to that place in Peru... what's it called... Machu Picchu built by the Incas, that looks like an interesting place... although i'd probably end up a slave or something.

Or to time before man, seeing what the world looked like with dinosaurs, or before that at the start of life!

Ohhh the end of the world, that would be AMAZING to see, whether the sun swallows the Earth or whatever else happens...

Oh i am liking this! although all mine seem to be really dangerous.. can i just watch these events please :D

looks like you're a bit of a thrill seeker!! ha. i was thinking holiday desinations :p

i honestly don't know where i'd go. i'd love to go to egypt at some point. i really want to go to malaysia and stay in a 5-star tree house :D

not sure i'd want to see the sun swallowing the earth personally...

would have loved to have gone to a proper masquerade ball back in the day though. of course we'd have to be ladies with means :D

Hi Charlotte! Ah yeah the Grainger market it is :) nice to speak to someone who knows Newcastle :D I live by the river in Gateshead now, I do like it here, not sure about staying forever but now I like it :)

Abi - :( awwww as if it wasnt one of those "if you could go anywhere in any time" questions :( boo!

Ok holiday destinations... Tokyo :D ok cheaper... what about Italy? Rome or Venice is amazing! New Zealand would be great but expensive again... You like beachy holidays dont you? well somewhere hot... erm... the Greek islands, Thailand... I dont much about Malaysia... Egypt would be really interesting though i think, i'd love to go there one day...

Is this for a honeymoon or in general?

Hello all who I know and all who I don't know yet but probably will by this evening!

I'm working from home today - which is a bit of a nightmare, as my mum's here and she's moaning at me to do some housework. Ahhhh if only I had my own place... One can only dream.

Smiley i'd probably join you in the past, though I reckon regency era as oppose to what you said. Either way, we'd probably want to leave by the end of it. The way they spoke, the way life was, and the stuff they used to eat! We'd probably be ill and severely unwashed by the time we got back here.

Abz Thailand looks amazing - we're looking to work with a number of Hotels in that area and it just looks incredible. Malaysia too, of course. My uncle went to Malaysia for his honeymoon, he looks positively minute next to the Petronas Towers.

Abz, I probably wouldn't go back to Malaya, but I'd live in Hong Kong or Singapore again in a flash. Then again Cyprus is fantastic as well. :)

Ooh, people from Newcastle. I'm looking to stay for 2 nights in Newcastle in August to head up to the Ed fringe fest for a day. Me and my mates have found an expensive travelodge right next to the train station, and another much cheaper one in Gateshead. Will it cost much for us to get from Gateshead to the train station?

Awww no I'm watching a sad programme about the rspca and there's a woman putting a cute bird to sleep cos it's broken it's wing!! Nooooooooo. These kinds of things really make me sad. Poor little birdie... :(

*ahem* sorry. I'm working, that should say.
