Bop's Road to Holiday!

i did Information and Communication Studies at Northumbria in Newcastle and then went on to do my PGCE in ICT. I'm a teacher now :) learning more than I ever did at uni LOL!

i just miss the social aspect more than anything - im not in touch with hardly any of my uni friends (bar 1) but we had a tiny course of only 9 people, so that might be why..

Ahh awesome :D I did ICT A level and loved it! I'm having a serious 'i've got 5 months to decide what I need to do with my life' scare at the moment it's gone far too fast!!!

Theres about 25 people on my course, hoping to stay in touch with some but it never works out that way in reality :(

How has your day been so far? :) xxx

pretty average - had to go pay for damage i did in the wind last week to this poor lady's car, then i popped to grab a few bits at sainsburys for my meals this week, then i headed to bank to cash a couple of cheques. i've come home, put some washing on and made moussaka for tea tonight and made a chilli (i use beef mince as lamb not free) for later in the week with the rest :) sound like a right boring sod haha!

anything exciting happening at uni? btw, are you going on holiday in July this year - is that why you want to wear a bikini? x

What happened to the car? Thats not good!. To be fair i'm the most boring student ever, been out once since starting year 3... that was back in September haha.

Food sounds super tasty!

I am indeed off for my first ever proper abroad holiday. First time on a plane! Off to Kefalonia which is a small greek island for 2 weeks. Cannot wait. Got a fair amount to shift before I will don my bikini happily though! :p

So the recipe for the korma was; :)

Korma - Serves 4, 2.5 syns per serving on EE.

2 onions
2.5cm ginger.
3 garlic cloves
248ml chicken stock
tbsp ground coriander
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp turmeric
5 cardomom pods, crushed
tsp salt
1/2 lemon juice
142g FF natural yoghurt
28g creamed coconut block

method;

Blend onion, garlic and ginger into a paste and add to a pan with the chicken stock. Bring to boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Stir in the spices, salt and lemon juice, add the coconut and cook for 10 minutes.

Gradually add the yoghurt, spoonful at a time, simmer gently for 20 minutes then discard the cinnamon and serve.

I made a few tweaks to it, I reduced the amount of lemon juice in it to about a quarter of a lemon for 4 people. I also added a bit more turmeric as I love korma colour and left out the coriander, but chucked in a generic indian spices thing i have (think its coriander, fennel, ginger, cinnamon etc).

Hope you like it if you get a chance to make it :D xxx

thats fab thanks hun! where do you get a coconut block from??

kefalonia is beautiful - i flew to there then plane hopped to the tiny island skiathos around 6 years ago now.. im sure its still as beautiful though :)

im same as you, didnt go out much - but i miss the coffee breaks (or diet coke breaks for me!) and the social lunches - im not a massive drinker so dont really miss going out too much - i get really badly with even a couple of drinks so i very rarely drink now at all unless its a special occasion :)

as for the car, wind wrenched car door from my hand in car park and it slammed into the car next to me.. £60 to fix, which is better than i thought, but would have much preferred the money to spend on something else LOL :)

youll have to start shopping for bikini ideas soon :D first season of bikinis comes out around february / march usually :D xxx

I couldn't find coconut block this time (usually just ask in the supermarket and they direct me) so I used reduced fat cococut milk and worked out the syns for it, tasted fine with it and almost made it more creamy.

Ooh its exciting that you've heard of Kefalonia! No one ever has, my boyfriend has been there before and says its awesome. Very excited :D

I don't drink a huge amount either, occasionally a glass of wine with dinner, used to drink a lot but I find if I have one I want more so I just don't have any and use my syns on something yummy which I appreciate more!!

That sucks, the wind has been awful these last couple weeks! Sorry to hear that! Definitely think of better things for it to be spent on!

I wanna find the perfect bikini, but I don't know what size to get, i'm hoping to be a size 12 however I lost 3.5 stone before christmas and my bra size only went from a 38F to a 36F so i'm unsure what size top to get (is this too much information? apologies if so I love to share! lol)

no no i totally get you - now im bigger than you weight wise.. and yet im only a 38B.. LOL. Its a right pain buying underwear sets - cant get the cheap dual sets anywhere cause you can only be a 38B if you're a 12, and probs similar for you?? Bikinis arent so bad though because you can buy seperates usually :)

i would maybe just shop for ideas on what to get - normally you can go up a back size and down a cup size and vice versa if things dont fit - so maybe test the 2 sizes - what you are and what the next size down is.. so you can figure out how much difference there is and whether you will lose enough to go down to that by holiday?

Not too much info at all hun :) What about looking on the la senza sale? They do bra size tops. I got a few and going to wear plain black bikini shorts with them :D

Bra sizes work in strange ways! Hoping they go down a little as I do!!!Yes buying underwear for me is a nightmare especially now i'm getting down towards fiiting into size 16/loose 14's!

Definitely going to have a look for bikini's though i'm sure my dream one will slap me in the face one day soon :D

Think i'll give it a go working it out :) I'm doing some statistics coursework at the moment and it actualy made my head hurt trying to work out the maths to do it! Haha. Too much learning!

Thank you for the advice though :D xxxx
