Bop's Road to Holiday!

Omnomnom

Katie, your stirfry looks amazing!! You're obviously quite a talented cook - well done you :)

Well done on another 100% day yesterday - I'm sure the scales will be good to you at WI tomorrow xxxx

Thank you lovely :D the stir fry was super tasty!
I worked for nearly four years before uni and during a levels as a trainee chef so picked up a few tricks along the way! Has definitely helped in creating SW friendly dishes!!!

Well done on your loss too you must be so so pleased! I just hope the scales are kind to me tomorrow morning will be gutted if not!
xxxxx

The omelette was so tasty! A quick 'throw everything in and hope for the best but it worked really well :D

I absolutely adore cooking, possibly my biggest hobby after forensic science and bone stuff!

How has your day been? xxx

It really does come across in your pictures how much you like cooking.

How's your day going? Extra good luck for weigh in tomorrow, you've been so good all week you really deserve a decent loss

Today has been really good so far, I feel so much better than yesterday :D

My day is going quite well, was in uni this morning for a meeting about my dissertation. I essentially got maggots drunk for it, and am writing it up at the mo but needed some help. lol.

glad you are having a good day hun read about your nightmare evening last night, bet you're shattered! xxx

You got maggots drunk? How did you do that? How much more do you have left to do?

Oh yeah it was an awful night last night, hopefully tonight is better :D

drunk maggots? i have to hear the explanation on this one LOL :D x

Ah I remember that final year and doing my diss - nightmare!! Mine was on those pesky tourists in Weston-super-Mare though so not nearly as fun as drunken maggots! To take on a whole new diet and stuff and actually cook proper food while at Uni too takes some doing - well done you.

Going back to a post pages ago you asked about my hols - it's a cruise round the Med, various stops in Spain, Greece, Gibraltar, Italy, Croatia. They have the bakery and stuff on board so it's all fresh rolls, doughnuts, buffets and really good food but far too much of it. I did eat a lot more fruit at breakfast and salads at lunch as it was all laid out Harvester salad cart style so it was easy. I can never be bothered at home.

I really need to try and make that diet coke chicken though as your pic made it look so nice :)

Hi all followers of Katie's thread! I'm Phil AKA Nightmare, her boyfriend and recent SW convert. I can testify that all my wonderful lady has cooked so far has been outstanding quality and I'm loving the satisfaction of eating loads and knowing its healthy! I'm really proud of what she's achieved so far and know she can get to her goal before we go to Kefalonia (super excited for that, btw!).

I was trying to figure out how to multi quote thias message to answer all the confused questions about drunken maggots but I can't figure it out so ill answer them all in one.

I promise there is a point to my experiment :p
Basically, in forensic science, insects can be removed from a body and analysed chemically, they will pick up any drugs that a person has ingested prior to death. However, it can only tell what kind of drug, not the amounts. My experiement was an attempt to devise a quantitative method for the analysis of how much alcohol was in a persons system at the time of death using gas chromatography, which involved feeding maggots on alcohol treated liver samples to see if it is ingested. It turns out that maggots can't handle their drink, and those at a 10/20% alcohol solution died, however I have some 0% and 5% samples to compare and I am then discussing methodology issues and how to improve it were the experiment to be repeated. (the 5% ones only had a tiny amount left so it shows that if the experimetn was repeated to analyse them quicker and you might see a significant alcohol peak).

Sounds interesting... actually was incredibly boring and am now wishing i'd chosen a pathology or genetics dissertation, wouldn't the power of foresight be a blessing? :D

How has everyones day been? all fabby and 100% I hope ...... WI day tomorrow EEK. Nervous as been 100% all week!

Well done on the loss, it's another step in the right direction :D

Your dinner sounds so yummy tonight, how do you make you burgers? Chris makes me ones that are literally just mince and a bit of spice lol

Most definitely. Onwards and downwards!

I make them with extra lean mince, finely diced onion and some mixed herbs. Yum Yum I can't wait for dinner Haha

Aww have you been buying a lot of bikinis then? :p. When is the big day hun? Xxxx

I now have 8 ready to take away with me :8855: So I am stopping at that as I have some gorgeous ones which I'm really happy with

The big day is 20th July next year, so plenty of time for planning, but what's proving difficult is the flower girl dresses, one is 8 months old now and the other about 19 months so there's plenty of time for them to grow, I found the ideal dress for them all last night, but need to wait until early next year before ordering lol

Keep at the hard work hun, you're doing fab. I wa looking at your picture thread yesterday and the difference is amazing. You look great :D

Nothing wrong with that - I went to Benidorm for a week in September and took 7 bikinis with me..one for each day! :rotflmao:
