It's aching a bit, and quite swollen on the outside of my knee but my sis said from where the stitches are he's gone in at the outside and over the top of the knee cap, and entered at the inside and gone in there too,
It wasn't too bad I took it off in the shower so the immediate dressings stuck over the wounds came off easier, and sis re dressed it ,

Oh that's good that its healing hun. How will you manage to do your dressing without your sis going forward ? xx

I have to press my knee back into the bed, hold for 5 sec 6times an hour,
Then I have to straighten my leg stiff and lift leg of bed bout 10cm 2times holding 5secs, an hour
Then I've to slide my foot up the bed so my knee bends slightly off the bed, 6 reps every hour , then the one I had to introduce today was put a sm cushion under knee , keep knee and leg stuff and raise heel off the bed,

It's hurting my thigh muscles more than my knee lol, don't get me wrong it causes some discomfort but I was expecting much worse ,

She told me to shower and pat the dressing to stand with my back to the shower so it's not directly running over the dressings , as I can't re dress it every day as she said it's introducing possible infection , so she said re dress it on tues night /wed morning ,

They will send me an appointment for 6 weeks,
Il have to go to a medical centre here to have my stitches removed in 14 days, I inquired before my op as I've got phone numbers sorted to arrange that,

I've got a compression stocking on my other leg to reduce thrombosis risks, and been told to leave on till I'm mobile a bit more,
And sis said if I have any burning or swelling in my calfs I've to ring ASAP

Oh no hope you don't get any swelling hun. Hope it heals well. Its good your going back in 14 days. Will be easier to see when to go back to work then too. Have u missed work ? xx

Yea the stitches coming out coincides with when I start to bend it more , it's not easy remembering not to bend your knee ,
Yea I'm missing work , but I'm having mixed feelings I think because we've moved it's going to feel really strange ,
But it will be good to get back to normal , it possibly will be in about a month

I need to be able to crouch and kneel on it , and can't even attempt that for two weeks

Von do u feel retail work is right for your knee going forward, I know as managers we stand for long hours all day, won't that put strain on it ? Sorry just thinking of you lovely :) xx

I know , what your saying , I really don't know to be honest,
I'm going to have to see how I find it , i know there's not even a chair in the office so even when I'm doing bankings or cashing the tills etc I will be standing,
It's my supervisor that told me this , they saying this office is smaller and a chair will not fit very well,

Vonnie, one of the stores I worked for was like that, I went to a poundshop down the road (company would not spend so I had to :rolleyes:) and they did these fold up chairs that can be stored flat, then when u want to sit u can open them, even if your half out the door at least your sitting, cashing up can take time sometimes, I'd hate to think of you standing for long hours with your knee hun. xx

Yea that's what I was thinking of doing , the surgeon said if I need a letter from him with recommendations on it for my return to work to let him know , so I could go down that route
