Have a great holiday Claira :)

I've been trying to catch up with this thread all evening between one thing and another. It moves fast!!

Reading what has happened in the past to some of you was really heart rending. You are all strong wonderful women to get out of situations that were dangerous to yourself and your children.

I can't blame a difficult past on my weight gain. Like Louie I've had an idyllic childhood. I grew up on a farm surrounding by animals. I had a pony and a dog. Was always very active. I loved joining things, like the hockey team, choir and orchestra - I used to play the violin.

When I went to university I shared with a girl who was a size 8, who was able to eat what she wanted and never put on weight - I put on 2 stone by the end of 4 years!

From there I never really got it down again, and slowly but surely it crept up. I was 12st 10 when my daughter was born last year (I only put on 10lb while pregnant as I had gestational diabetes), and initially I did loose weight - breast feeding was great for that. Once I stopped feeding her myself I wasn't as careful about what I ate and ended up putting on more than a stone over the winter to end up at 14st 4 before starting CD. Enough is enough.

I am going to be a size 10 / 9st by October - I am totally single minded about it, and I will get there!

I've got a pair of size 10 jeans that I bought just after starting the diet. I'm determined that they will fit me by October.

I can't wait for the Monsoon sale to start - going to stock up on little skirts and tops for next summer :)

Good evening ladies!!!

I have just been to church - had communion, and couldn't work out why I was enjoying the bread for a change!! Oppppsss. I am really hoping that a piece or bread isn't going to throw me out of ketosis. What do you think??
I had geared myself up to ignore the cakes after the service, but I totally forgot about the small piece of bread bummer! I took the smallest sip of wine........

Going to catch up on posts

hahahaha bethan you crack me up about communion xxx

I don't know that I eat to mask anything in all honesty. I think I just eat cos I love food. Maybe there is more to it than that but I don't sit and eat sweets etc at night. I just eat Jabba the Hut size meals - Jason says I could eat any man under the table! Not any more though, when I am finished with this I am going to eat like a bird - not a turkey though, a wee sparrow!

Broxi - I love the sparrow eating habits!! ha ha!! I used to eat like a fat goose!! ha ha.

I this is a journey for all of us, and we will hopefully discover more along the way..... you have already come so far in your life and this is just the icing on the c**e......

i used to eat because it tasted good, as a kid i always wanted the biggest portion, my sister had all the attention so i wanted all the food, she can eat loads more than me though and stays a 10-12,
when i was 16 and size 10 i had apot belly, my mum and step dad used to take the mick so i started hiding in the loo to eat choc, upto 10 bars a time if i felt bad, then went to look after a friends house and began binging and purging, this went on for a few years, then got my head sorted but still loved food, lived on my own from 16/17 so always ate what i wanted because i could!
the better it teasted the more i ate, and all wrong foods, mainly takeaway, i now know that after i get there and do maintainence i will be living of small amounts, i would like to still go out for food, but maybe have starters, i always like them best anyway, and if i have takeaway i must share, or have a side plate only, hopefully this will work, i still want to enjoy food, but learn less is more. xxx

thanks hun, xxxx
hope you have a good week, and i'll have lots of posts to catch up on xxx

Thanks for sharing that Claira.

Gosh - you moved out of home early!! I am also sorry that your Mum and StepDad made fun at you, and I guess it really hurt so you kept eating for comfort.

I too loved takeaways (note the past tense 'loved') and I will also have to be careful when I have finished this diet! I might try and eat them over two nights...... the side plate idea is a great one!!
