Bye Bye Fatty .... starting today!

Quark cheese is pretty good. It taste awful on its own but you can mix it grated cheese to make cheese spread or with a sachet of highlights or options hot chocolate for a naughty chocolate treat. Quark is syn free so you only need to add the syns from whatever you choose to mix it with. If I get anymore tips or important info I will share it with you.

Oooh mug shots are nice. I like to mix the tomato one with tuna and season it with Schwartz spicy seasoning. It tastes delicious. x

That's good to know - I have never really used quark, never really known what to do with it so thats really helpful.. I never thought of mixing it with options for a sweet treat instead! I have seen quite a few people posting about mug shots so I will have to give them a go too :)

I'm really new to Slimming world (last time I did it was about 15 years ago) so any ideas welcomed!

Just remembered that I am supposed to be posting my food diary on here too - haha so busy chatting instead :) SO here goes today and yesterday ..

Tuesday:

Breakfast
Blueberries, total 0% yoghurt, tesco granola (7 syns - grr!!)

Lunch:
Cabbage, broccoli, carrots, spinach and gravy (5 syns for gravy made with meat juices)

Dinner:

salmon fillet, noodles, pak choi, spring onions, chilli, sweet chilli sauce (2 syns)

Snacks:

2 x slices wholemeal bread (HexB), 1 Banana

numerous cups of coffee with milk (HexA)

Total syns: 14

Wednesday
Had meetings most of today so not much chance to eat and I wasnt as prepared as I hoped I would be ...

Breakfast / Lunch
2 x babybel light cheese (HexA)
melon, pineapple

Dinner:
Steak, cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, SW chips, mushroom sauce (only had a little sauce so guessing at 5 syns)

Strawberries and Total 0% yoghurt

snack
1 x bag snack a jacks curls (4.5 syns)
1 x babybel light (HexA)
1 x Alpen Light bar (Hex B)

Total Syns: 9.5

Still feeling very easy so far .. but it has kept me away from the biscuits and made me think so I suppose it's working!

If you changed your granola to a cereal you can have in your hexB list you could save the 7 syns. Try 35 grams of porridge.

Thanks, I was trying to use what I already had in the house - but after realising how many syns were involved I bought All Bran and Weetabix instead today = It felt like a massive waste of syns!

It is and I bet it was a tiny portion too lol. Just make sure that you always measure your healthy extras.

it was :( ...

Good point - I will make sure I do measure them - I am sure its easy to go way off track on things you think are healthy extras ..

I'm at my happiest glass in hand lol. That and the munchies that follow is what's got me into this mess
I doubt I'll get much walking done this weekend which is a shame as my Mum is disabled, and if I even suggest wine she'll be signing me up at AA... it's going to be fun...
Great menu, keep up the good work x

Yes it is very easy to go off track with healthy extras. Healthy extras are the only things that you really need to measure but so far so good. Keep up the good work and I will check on you tomorrow to see how you are doing x

Oh no Mandy - no wine, no walks and hopefully no whinging? hehe I am sure you will have a fab weekend, do come and tell us all about it!

Thanks for the tips and encouragement guys - you definitely have made the first few days of slimming world fun - it feels so much easier not going it alone..

Lou - how did you get on at weigh in?

Missa / Mandy - what days do you weigh? (or do you not have a set day?)

Hello, how are you today? I weigh-in on a Thursday morning. I lost 3lbs today.

Here to say hi and keep up the good work x

Hi Missa that is a great loss for week 7! Do you have a food diary on here? I am so nosey but there again it does help seeing what other people do to loose weight. Beck x

Hello Beck70 to be honest I have never thought of doing a food diary on here. All I can say is I do green days 5 days a week 1 being success express and the other two (at the weekend) being extra easy. It seems to have boosted my weight loss. Hope this helps x

Thanks hun, I think sometimes it is good to mix it up a little x

I went to group this morning and we are now doing something different. The consultant has a board with holiday destinations on it and we have to choose one each week. Behind the holiday destinations is a challenge that we can do (optional). This week we chose Barbados and the challenge is to keep a food diary for the whole week and follow the plan 100% as some people have been disappointed with their losses. I think this is a really good idea as it is something we can all do together.

Definitely. For some strange reason my weight loss slowed down at week 4 & 5 so I decided to go green. To be honest I prefer it as I don't like to eat too much chicken and meat so I keep them as a treat at the weekend.

Well done Missa - 3lbs is a great loss! I've not thought about mixing up green / read / extra easy etc but its definitely something to consider in the coming weeks. - so far so good though - I know it's only been a few days but I have successfully avoided the biscuit tin and I feel a whole lot better about what I am eating :)
