Cai's atkins attack!!

MFP says I have had 17.9 gs of carbs today that's good!! ;-)
 
:-( gained a pound! :-(

If anyone reads this and has suggestions as to why I would be grateful!

Today is day 7 only! I thought u was doing too good lol.

I have thought maybe I ate too much, maybe didn't drink enough?!
Could it be not enough meat?! I will def eat more of the meat and eggs today lol
Maybe too much cheese?! Maybe was as I didn't have any eggs at all lol well I will be having them today lol

Anyway going to keep at it today and see what happens tomorrow when official week one WI results will be due! ;-)

Going to have scrambled eggs and maybe bacon for breakfast :) yummy!!
I'm not a big fan of bacon, gotta be really in the mood for it but I think I could force myself some lol

The body has natural fluctuations and loss on this diet slows right down after the first week - weighing daily isn't the best idea if your weight will affect your mood as it will go up and down a little.

Yeah good plan!!
I will tomorrow but then will leave it till fri or sat (the day of the wedding) so that I know what the effect of the wedding day has on me lol.

People stall for all sorts of reasons Cai - maybe try reducing things like cheese or cream and see how you get on?

Yeah that's what I thought - I had quite a lot over the last couple of days! Still going to have some tho lol
 
I have got some home made burgers in the oven for my lunch, just made hubby bacon sandwhches and I must say the bread looked amazing!!

I am going to have some cheese with them as not had any today!! Lol. It'll be weird if I start getting cheese withdrawals too lol

Well I had some lamb steaks at about 6pm then went to the pub with hubby and his mates.

I have left him there as he was drinking ( I had one diet coke and pint of water) but I did get a chicken tikka and small salad - see pic.

I must admit tonight has been very difficult. Really wanted a 'normal' curry or naan bread!
Once I had eaten my chicken I really craved some crisps (well velvet crunch!)
However I didn't cave, just came to bed to watch a DVD!!

Cai this is not a regular "diet" - it's a completely different way of eating.

I understand that you're worried about portions and calories - but you really should read the book and get the principles - eat fat to burn fat - and then I'm sure it will all work a lot easier for you :)

Thanks. And without trying to sound negative yr post has made me wonder if I can really fully embrace this way of eating as my full time way of eating :-/

No1 else in my house is eating like this and I'm not sure my body/mind can cope with the constant temptations etc.

Maybe when I move into the next stage it would be easier?!?!

Have been trying to find food diaries on here and can find good diaries, but not so much about food which I could do with!

Def going to keep going for now but I wonder if red days on SW would just be better for me if I was more strict about my 'treats' and use my syns for the items missing (mayo, cheese and cream?!)

it's a lot (if not too much) to think about and decide on quickly - will no doubt moan about it for a few days before my decisions are made! Lol

So day 8 of induction.

I did stand on the scales today and it had shifted slightly down.

Not going to weigh myself again now until Friday or saturday mornin before the wedding!

B - scrambled eggs, cheese and 2 mushrooms.

Totally forgot to take a pic today :-/ no idea why apart from I was hungry lol
 
It's weird really,
I miss fruit and yogurts mainly as I ate them quite regularly.
And since starting Atkins have been having weird cravings for special k! Lol. Of all the things right?!

But then in my head (and maybe cos I have been following SW successfully for 18 months) I don't understand (or can't get it in my heard correctly) how and apple can really hurt me?! Lol. Not physical pain but u know what I mean!
I do understand about sugars etc but it's fruit?! Lol.

And then the more I over analyse it, the less likely i think I am ever going to understand it!! Lol.

I don't want to say that today is my last day on Atkins as would really like to follow it on the induction stage until Saturday, but tomorrow hubby and I are going out for the day together which will prob include 2 meals out.
On SW this would be a piece of cake! (without the cake I stress!!) but now I am totally stressing and panicked about what the hell I am going to do tomorrow - ican take some bits with me but it's not easy to think 8-10 hours in advance....



Aaaarrrrfgggghhhh


I am totally screaming on the inside and have idea what to do for the best!!!
 
Oh and I do agree to up myself on the greens!!! But the ones which are allowed are not always easy to use with food lol.
 
Evening Cai... It must be so hard swapping from a really successful woe - SW - to Atkins! But try and persevere through the induction phase and then assess ... Good luck! Xx
 
Sorry to disappoint any of you but I am going back to sW :-/ going to keep low carving an will use MFP to monitor it is u have learnt some things!! :)
