Evenin' Gem :D

Things are going well at the hospice. It's very quiet compared to the hospital and at the moment I'm mainly following other staff around.

Food wise have been ok. I get 2 short breaks, so have had a banana or some crackerbread with philidelphia and a ham wrap which has kept me going until dinner time. No chocolate or cakes yet but someone did bring in cakes for their birthday and I didn't have one :D

Still need to sort exercise out. I do enjoy doing it but find it hard to get going - I'm liking Clarri's vigour though so am trying to be inspired ;)

Glad all is going well and well done for resisting the cake x

I've only been there 2 days so far Clarri and most of the people are 70/80/90 apart from 1 guy who's 54. The relatives that I've met so far have all been older aswell and quite accepting of the patients prognosis so it hasn't really been emotional.

I'm sure before long there'll be younger patients/more distraught relatives which'll make it more difficult to deal with. A friend of mine was there for 4 weeks and cried most days, bless her

I'm with Clarri on this one - I admire your strength x

Well I am now officially the heaviest I've EVER been. I've put on all of the weight that I lost and an extra couple of pounds now :(

The funny thing is I'm not full of self loathing, which can only be a good thing. I just don't know how to get the rocket up my ar$e that I need to start shifting it again.

(((Hugs))) I'll send you some good vibes to get you going x

Cheers Gem x

I suppose believing that you're a 'nice' person on the whole is a good thing so how I think of myself has changed - but I do like the way that I look when I'm slimmer because the way I put my weight on is all around the front and back middle (if you get me) so I'm very round !!

Anyway, went shopping yesterday and bought lots of salad and fruit and no biscuits etc so that should help - I'm just such a snack fiend :)

Hey hun,
Perhaps the trick is to embrace that snack monster. some people are grazers, some are main meal eaters, and some are a bit of both (like me!!). Its one of the reasons Ive gone back to ww. Its easier for me to have a few snacks, and count them in.
I have the same body shape as you I think, rounded!!!

How is your placement going?

Ha, it's making the right choices though Clarri - I bought grapes, peaches, nectarines and pineapple to try and overcome the sugar cravings for cakes, biscuits and chocolate. If I can keep off them for 3 or 4 days the cravings go away. I'm going to make a fruit salad, put it in the fridge and every time I sneak into the kitchen looking for something to have I can have some of that and be guilt free :D

I'm loving my placement Clarri, it's a different type of nursing which I think I prefer to the acute hospital setting. I completely understand that it's not not for some people who want the adrenaline rush and hurleyburley of A&E, acute trauma etc but it's very peaceful an dmuch less hectic most of the time.

Well the weekend, on the whole, has been ok. Had a twix yesterday and a kitkat chunky this afternoon but no other 'bad' things at all (and only had one of each when really I could have eaten another 1 or 2 !!).

Made a big salad yesterday which'll last for tomorrow aswell, so that'll be 3 days - plus the girls have been having it aswell (minus the radishes and tomatoes)

Bought some cherries today so will take some salad and couscous and a fruit salad to work tomorrow.

Yep, still doing ok. I don't ban things but still think of things as 'naughty', the twix was 148 cals but the kitkat (I think) was about 240 - the twix is so much better value ;) Had a handful of sugared almonds yesterday - boy they nearly broke my teeth !!

I think last week must have been my 'heavy' week because I've lost a couple of pounds already. Will wait to Friday for official weigh in though.

Going to a nursing exhibition tomorrow, and getting a free lunch. Not sure what'll be there.

So far today I've had a ham salad sandwich and some fruit salad (peach, nectarine, grapes and cherries) I'm not drinking enough though and have only had 1 cup of water.

Sounds like you're doing really well, keep up the good work :)
Best wishes.

Ok, so yesterday wasn't such a good day but hey ho !!

I thought the free lunch would be a buffet but it was hot food so I had some chilli and rice, completely forgetting that that's what I had in the fridge for dinner. Good job I like it.

Got some free guylian chocolate which didn't last long :( and Abbie had a bag of pretzels, she ate half and gave the rest to me. Was just going to have a handful but ended up scoffing the lot :(

Am on a night shift tonight and am waiting for a passport to be delivered atm. Knowing my luck I'll go for a sleep this afternoon and they'll come and wake me. It's so annoying just waiting in
