Charleybarley tries again - Jan 2013

3 Stone???? That is amazing! Literally amazing, I bow down to her greatness!!!
And I promise the "friend" wasn't me - I didn't have a honeymoon per se as we were married in Turkey and there's no way my family would have let me be that greedy! Honestly she looked so awful unrecognisable from her wedding pics and has battled with her weight ever since!

I wasn't convinced about the curry, but trust me it is really nice, well I thought so anyway, I guess it's all about taste isn't it. It is really tasty though - I am having some for lunch today with pitta breads I will post a pic, although it's nothing to look at, in fact it does look pretty unappetising!!!
OK - I will tentatively add to my shopping list!

Sorry to disappoint I am ashamed to say since you typed your lovely reply, I added to my saintly post of yesterday to say "my name is Charlotte Smith and I eat chicken skin" i am sorry I couldn't help it. I have added it up (although I would have a clue how to syn it, I didn't exactly weigh the skin!) and I will not have Manu syns today - I promise. I am on a green day and I have my food all planned today.

Xx

RIGHT MISS CHARLOTTE SMITH - I didn't read this before I promise but I have been preparing some Honey & Mustard chicken (just popped in oven) and I took this for you - talk about timing:

Here's your lunch and dinner:

Hey Charley, hope you don't mind me being nosy, was just looking through your diary, your food looks fab, I read that you gained 11lb on holiday last year, I just gained 11 1/2lb when I got weighed last week and am absolutely gutted, my losses are so slow that at the rate I've been going it will take me 6 months to lose that!

Good luck for getting the weight off for your next holiday, do you mind me asking what weight you are as I can't check my stats from my phone, I've gone back up to 15st 3lb having got down to 14st 6 1/2lb x

Hey Saucy, thanks for stopping by! Do you have a food diary of your own at all? I will take a look if you have.

I know, holidays are a nightmare for weight, but do you know what? We should concentrate of having a good time, not how many calories we are putting back into our bodies. We only get one life love, we might as well enjoy it - as long as you pick things up where you left off at home. I am going back on a Caribbean Cruise next February and I am hoping to be 4 stone lighter by then, but I am under no illusions that I wont eat like an animal when I am on that ship!

I removed my stats for various reasons, one of them being that no one I know, knows my weight - I am ashamed of the actual number and I just felt so exposed with it being on the site and uncomfortable that I removed it hoping that no one would notice or care and instead put what I had lost (and gained!) weekly under my siggy. I hope you understand lovey if I dont say?

Good luck on the plan, you will lose that 11.5lb in no time at all.

Send us a link to your diary!

Of course I understand you not putting your stats down, I don't tell people my weight either but as its going down more people know, in fact I tell people on minis more stuff than other "real" people!

I'm back on track 100% to try and get this gain off.. We'll see come Thursday how much I've shifted, what day do you weigh in?

I don't know how to do a link to my diary but it's called "Helen's quest for good health"

Take care and have a good day x

8th May

Ok well today has been mighty successful. I am just on the train home from London having been out with work friends to see a colleague play her cello at a really cool organic cafe in Camden. I was so concerned about going because I wanted to be really good but I also knew that I would be hungry by about 7! I resisted temptation, I was so strong, although being an organic cafe of course they didn't sell diet drinks, not with all them chemicals in! So I had an organic coke! £1.20 for the sweetest can of crap I have ever tasted! Why didn't it occur to me to buy a bottle of water?!? Anyhow, it was 40 cals so I figured 2 syns there - but oh the foodie smells were so delicious - If anyone out there is veggie or vegan you would love it! My friend played her cello amazingly. It's totes not my type of thing, but she is a fantastic musician, I am in awe of her. So todays food;

B - salmon and soft cheese on half a wholemeal bagel (part HEA and tweak HEB!)

L - Chicken and rice with salad (2) for salad cream.

Snacks - apple, melon, banana

D - 2 fried eggs and 2 min Mexican rice (2.5)

Syns 6.5

All in all a good day!

Hey Sug - good to see you back love. How are you feeling? I checked in on your diary a couple of days ago and saw that you hadn't been around.

I am well thanks, still fighting the fat fight!!

Come and join Donnajt and I on our quest to lose 21lbs in 10 weeks! We are both going away in July and Donna set the figure - as you can imagine I failed to hit my 2lbs target this week - oops! Oh well a girls gotta eat right?! It's just a bit of fun, but when you have a challenge with someone where we both want ourselves and the other to do as well then you feel responsible to hold up your end of the bargain if you know what I mean? I am prob talking **** but I know what I mean, it has made me think twice about cheating.

Come back to us Sug and fight the fat fight with us - we need warriors like you on our side!!

Well 1lb off, not bad but no cigar! I have no plans this week so I am fully expecting a better result next Thursday! I an upbeat today as I am now in the next stone zone, only just, but I defo do not want to see that bigger number on my scales again!

Today I have half day as I have a hospital appointment to attend with Mick, on days that don't go the way my days usually go ie not according to my regular schedule I somehow feel the need nor to stick to plan as my day is not regimented. But I am going to try to stick to the plan:

B - edit: I am a naughty bunny - bacon roll from work trolley (I will call it 15 syns to cover the White roll, 2 rashers with rind and ketchup, poss marge I am not sure if there was any on)

L - skipped lunch, the roll filled me

D - Spag Bol and tomato and onion salad with cheese (HEA)

Snack - a banana and 3 apples

Happy Thursday one and all! X

Friday 11th May

Happy Friday everyone! I have had an unplanned day food wise which, in days of yore (by yore I mean last week!!) would have put my feeding-frenzied-saboteured-self into a play and i would have eaten what the bloody hell I wanted - I think I need a name for my sabotaging alter ego, The Kraken - so anyway, ordinarily on an unplanned day The Kraken would have shown her ugly face but today, with my new found power called Will I managed not to release The Kraken and I went to m&s this morning and bought some veg sushi and had that for breakfast! I really enjoyed it, it totally set me up for my busy morning at work. I also bought edamame bean salad and a wheatberry salad thing which I stupidly thought would be low in syns (i needed to keep today low for reasons below) but when I calculated the wheatberry thing was 5.5 syns, now the Kraken would have thought "**** it" but I was running the show today, so I gave it to my friend instead and I had summit else - yay me and up yours Kraken

So today:

B - Veg sushi (1) - it did give me a touch of asparagus wee tho

L - Edamame bean salad (free!) and medium jacket potato and beans

Snacks - 2 apples and a yog, fridge raiders (2.5) - i stupidly thought these were lower than that, but I was so hungry waiting for my train and the only thing is Superdrug was this or velvet crisps. They were ok, nothing spesh but they filled a hunger gap.

D - Nandos! Half a chicken (skin on!) and spicy rice with tomato and onion salad!

Oh yeah!!!!!

Another great day at beating your Demons - Kraken lol!!!

Saturday 12th May

Well saturday was another unplanned food day. Mick and I took my niece to Barleylands farmers Market which they hold there twice a month - oh lord the food!! There was a cheese stall and sausage stall (giggly pig) she told me her sausages were SW certified but are now no longer and I believed her! Hey I mean when have you known a born and bred Essex sausage vendor who even owns the god damn pigs, to lie! I have never known one, have you?!

She sells like 60 different flavoured sausages, I bought jalepeno ones, caribbean ones and Italian ones - all for a tenner - of course i sampled for tea and froze the rest in individual portions.

So the bread stall was irresistible, Mick bought loads of sexy breads and rolls. I bought a load of olives and sd tomatoes from the olive man. And eggs from the egg lady.

All in all a good booty shop but all I could think about is how much I would have bought if I werent on my diet - I would have gone to town!

After that we went to Tropical Wings - Donna if you are reading this and haven't taken Meg and Noah there, take them, its a wonderful place to go.

So as with unplanned days as I mentioned yesterday The Kraken generally shows itself and I fall off the wagon - but, although I defo went over my limit, nor did I eat very much, j managed to not go very mad.

The only meal I actually had yesterday was dinner - but throughout the day I ate:

o Probably a sausage worth of samples at the sausage stall

o a variety of snacks at a pub after the zoo. I had a diet coke and we were going to eat there but we had spent so much money at the market and the zoo we decided to wait til we got home to eat - so we got cheese & onion, quavers, bacon fries and some nuts to share between the three which I picked at admittedly but Mick and Nell ate most of them.

o two boiled eggs when we got in, the nicest freshest eggs ever! Apple and satsuma.

D - 2 Caribbean sausages (they were alright, I am not sure what was Caribbean about them!) and 2 jalepeno sausages (these were phenomenal) and I had these in two wholemeal rolls with a whole fried onion and mushroom and grated cheese with a rasher of rindless bacon - small blob of ketchup and mustard in each. Fooking handsome!

So I don't know how to syn it and I know I went over, but I am actually proud of not going overboard.

On track from now on.

Xxx

Sunday 13th May

B - 2 more fresh boiled eggs, half tin of beans, 2 hot dogs (2). A satsuma.

image-1158766622.jpg

Not a very interesting pic but I was hungry and thought it looked pretty!

D - Starters: Thai fish and prawn cakes with salad (.5)

Mains: lamb "doner" kebab with pitta (HEB) and chips (potato and sweet potato) and salad and chilli sauce (10)

Well my mini feast was delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had it at about 4:30pm though, I usually eat later on in the evening. It's 8pm now and I am wondering about finishing off the extra chips I had leftover! I need to use my HEA which I may use for a glass of milk!

Happy Sunday! Xx

Monday 14th May

Back at work - boooo! My Will is being tested today - a few of us are staying late to do storage (which we all hate doing) - we have been promised overtime and WINE and NIBBLES - knowing that PA's generally can't resist the urge to drink wine and eat nibbles, we have all agreed to it. I am going to try to abstain. ... I will let you know how I do...

B - Banana and Apple (not a good start - I was starving by 12!)

L - Leftover Thai Fish Cakes (.5) and small amount of leftover chippies and salad (2) for salad cream

Snacks - Yogs x2

5pm - Mug Shot (1)

D - Leftover Lamb "doner" kebab with pitta (5) (HEB) and salad and grated cheese (HEA). Chilli Sauce (1)

SYNS - 9.5

EPIC FAIL. I released the Kraken! I sunk a bottle of Becks and I have eaten untold amounts of nibbles - why god why?! It's like I get possessed, I feel sick. This is my problem, if it's there I will eat it, and not just a little bit, I go, well I am the Kraken, a beast! This basically means I shouldn't put myself in harms way until I lose the 4 stone I want to lose, which means not going out and putting temptation in front of me, because I become something else, something not of this world - a monster!
