Hi Charley,

Well went to the class last night and actually stayed for once as i need the inspiration!!! Today going fine so far buts its friday and the weekends are killers!!!

You seem quite the cook, do you make sure u eat a third of superfree foods along with each meal? Today im having savory rice but going to eat fruit after i finish but im not sure if i am doing this right.

Hope your having a good day

Angie x

Good for you Ang, I hope it inspires you. I found classes difficult for one reason or another and I didn't feel supported..I do get a lot out of this forum though.

The last two days for me have been write offs, I need to pull my socks up as I know I can do it, I have done it so many times before!

Thanks I do love cooking and I like trying new things and yes I get my third in my meals, that curry for example had a red pepper and an onion in it before the sauce was blended, with that and the veg that went with it, was my third. I always have a balanced plate. I love hiding veg in sauces. Personally j would prefer it chunky but it's soul destroying watching Mick pick apart the meal and moving the tiniest piece of onion to the side of the plate! Have you started up a food diary yet? X

L - My take on DonnaJT's Stroppy fellow pasta - except I had no chicken or creme fraiche - so I skinned a Morrys (bleurgh!) Sausage (.5 syn) and balled it into tiny balls, rolled them round in a dusting of smoky paprika, and fried with 2 rashers of bacon (rind off - get me!) then I mixed 1.5 tbsps of red pesto (3 syns) with tom puree (1 syn) and quark - added a chilli and parsley and ran the whole lot through 200g of cooked brown pasta. So actually other than the pesto pasta and parsley, it really wasn't anything like the Stroppy Pesto Pasta!!!. It looked nice straight from cooking, but I am thinking its going to be a bit of a challenge to reheat, I will water it down a smidge I think as it looks a little claggy today (think its the quark).

Now this was really quite nice, I added some hot water and two l. Cows from my HEA and it was really nice. Change of plan for tonight, no Holy Harvester, my friend isn't feeling great so I am going to hers and we are getting a takeaway!!!!!! Oh ****! There is a kebab shop near her so I will go for a lamb shish and NO chips and burger sauce - no no no! Xx

Your version of stroppy fellow sounds good - was it nice? to stop it going claggy you need the creme fraiche, yog, etc and don't drain all the water off your pasta as this makes the pesto go even further

Look at what my company have just given us all for US Staff Appreciation Day - I work for a US firm in London:

now on the one hand we have a get out of jail 2 hours early voucher but look at the amazing choccies! On the bright side there are only 8 chocs, but how am I going to syn them? There is no nutritional info on the back, which is never a good sign. It springs to mind the saying "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford them!!". I could give them away, but if I gave them to Mick they would be hanging around the flat whispering my name. So what do you think ladies, should I have one every now and then and syn them high? How sinful would you calculate these little beauties?

Last night was a semi fail, semi success. We went for kebabs and I had the mixed kebab, kofta, shish and the dreaded doner which I halved with my friend (the doner bit). The shish was depressingly fatty and I spat most of it back out but the kofta and doner was amazeballs. So with that I would say I probably went over my syns but I never had my heb and only half of my HEA so I am going to call that a big fat tweak with the pitta bread and call it a 15 syn day!

So today:

B - 2 morrys sausages (no likey)

L - stroppy pasta and salad

D - spag carbonara and salad

Snacks : berries and muller, apple

Pics to follow

Ok re. the truffles - I have looked on Hotel Chocolat's webby and it states that the small truffles are between 58 and 61 calories, so that would be 3 syns each, which are much better than I was expecting. I will make it 4 syns each and just have one when I have enough syns left at the end of the day. I may (if I can bear it) try and just have one a week on weigh in day - how strong is my will? Answer: not very!

My din dins - Four meat carbonara (HEA) (2.5 syns. Salad:

This was amazing!

Oh and and and... guess what I did? I gave my chocolates away!
RECIPE PLEASE that looks gorgeous!
Well done on giving chocs away x

It was good of your company to give you all a little treat, I work for the NHS and we never get any perks, we don't even get priority for appointment's lol. I would have the (lovely) choc's when I needed a hit and just syn them, I have small amounts of chocolate on the plan if I need it.
Tinkerbelle6, I work for my local Council so I know exactly where you are coming from!

Oh I am having a bad food day!! All my planned food has gone out of the window. Why? Well for starters I STS - which I am p!ssed off about - I wasn't great at the weekend, but I have been good this week. I guess I need to aim for 7 good days don't I?! Also, I am ok if my day is planned, like I get up at the same time and get on the train at the same time and start work at the same time.... but this morning I had to drive Mick to the hospital (not serious) and we were both late for work, which put my plan out of kilter - so I got into work late and had a bacon roll from the trolley. Ok bad, but I could have dealt with the rest of the day by being bad.... noooo, I then went to M&S at 1pm and bought a triple sandwich thing with ham & mustard, prawn and mayo and a BLT sandwich in there AND I brought two bags of crisps - C&O McCoys (man I love these) and Brannigans Roast Beef and Mustard. Why? I feel sick now. Do I feel guilty? No not especially, but I should. All I want to do is carry on eating.

I want today to be over so I can start afresh tomorrow.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

Line drawn under today so far. I have a curry in the slow cooker which is a healthy one so I can start being good from now on.

x
Charley - get some bits and pieces for your drawer at work - snackajacks, tins of spaghetti, hifi or cereal bars, fruit, that way you can something other than the bacon butty trolley! (So glad I dislike bacon)

Hi Charley

I read this post and loved it. I feel the exactly the same and i showed my friend and she laughed as we were on a plane recently and panicked about the seat beats lol

I am starting back to slimming world tonight this will be my third attempt! so wish me luck.

I havent started a food diary as i eat the same old boring stuff over and over again maybe thats why i never stick to it lol

I hope your doing well as your menu looks fab

Angie x
Lol! agree, charley is really funny!

Hey Angie, thanks for reading, I often think I am talking to myself. It's a fabulous confession box this forum, I find myself very forgiving!

I imagine there are so many everyday things a that people find a bit more taxing than 'normal' people, funny things that people can relate to and say 'yeah, that's me'. The other day I put some snug underwear on and I was feeling particularly energetic and powerful that morning so I donned my iPod and headed off the long way to the train station... I say the long way but really it's just a few minutes longer walk and up and down a mountain (aka a hill...aka a bridge with a slight incline!) anyhow, as I am powering up that bridge with Beyonce in my ears belting out how bootilicious my body wad, my knickers started rolling down my belly and then bum and then just kept going until the only thing that was holding them up was the crotch of my trousers (thank god i wasn't wearing a skirt or they would have been round my ankles!) I couldn't rearrange myself as there were people behind me, not to mention the cars driving past me. It was so uncomfortable and I had to stay that way until I got into london and ran to the stations loos. The same thing happened one time with the hold up stockings I borrowed from my mum (who is smaller than me!) for an interview for the job I now have - I got to the station and whipped those bad boys off - thankfully I got the job without looking like Nora batty! Ah the confessions of a fat bird!!!!

Well thanks for dropping by, I have had a terrible day foodwise but I an going to start afresh tomorrow - tonight is Jamaican Beef Curry courtesy of mias mamma - check her food out its so delish.

Good luck on your third attempt, it's my 5th or 6th, I really hope you start better than me, my results must be an all time low record! Believe it or not I do feel positive about losing weight this time - I know I joke and lark around but I do find it a constant battle with my head and my desire to eat what I want. Today my desire won, tomorrow it loses.

Take care Angie and try and start a food diary, and keep reading the others and try utilising some of their ideas, esp in the recipe section - variety is the spice of life!

X
Oh Charley you are funny - but I can completely relate to your stories...but I can beat them - at least hold up stockings look sexy if even they do roll down the amount of times I have sat on the C2C trains with my pop socks rolled down my ankles like Nora Batty is untrue!

You do need to have more of a brekkie - if I had just fruit I would faint I reckon lol. x
I agree Charley - I think that is what makes you go mad at lunchtime - I don't do breakfast as a whole but I do quite like shreddies without milk and have a couple of tupperware boxes in my draw of dry shreddies that I can munch on

RECIPE PLEASE!

Yours dinners are gorgeous!!!

Hey Donna, you are back! I hope will pop on to your diary to see how you have been getting on. Sadly I have been so so off plan since Thursday, I stayed the same at weigh in and just fell well and truly off the wagon, in fact I am sitting here now writing with a second glass of red wine! Tomorrow is a new day and a new week, I am going to get to work with my exercising tomorrow too. Right now I am off it. I can't explain this head f**k I get into when i just sabotage myself. Anyhow, the recipes you asked for:

Spag Carbonara - that's a portion of spaghetti, one dasher or bacon, one slice of proscuttio both with fat/rind removed. A slice of ham and 28g of chorizo all sliced up and fried whilst the spag is cooking. Put 71g of Phili light and one egg in a bowl and whisk. Once spag is cooked drain but reserve some of the pasta water and add it slowly to the egg mix. Add the meats to the spag pan and add the egg mix and put it on a really low heat so the the mix cooks slowly but the egg doesn't scramble. It is absolutely fooking smashing. Its just 2.5 syns for the chorizo.

The Jamaican beef curry was an adaptation of Mias mumma recipe, in the recipe section, I have cooked this 3 times now with chicken, pork and beef. Lush. She has a great southern frie chicken recipe too. Let me know if you can't fund it and I will give it to you. Take care Donna!

X

Thanks Charley - I went completely off rails yesterday - back on track today and absolutely stuffed!

Well done for staying the same - make sure you jump back on track tomorrow - figure in a couple of treats for the evening to keep you there

thanks foe carbonara recipe it sounds lovely - will have a look for the curry recipe and shout if I can't find it x

Hey

How has ur weekend been. I havent been too well this weekend so food wise ive been good. I better c some results on the scales on thursday lol

Hope ur keeping well

Angie x

Good morning, well I have had a weekend full of food debauchery! I have been so naughty since weigh in last Thursday. I sneaked on the scales this morning and so far still the same which is a relief, I plan on being a food Angel this week, or at least until Thursday, my sister and I are taking my mum to the Oxo Tower for her 65th birthday, I will try and make good food choices, but I can't promise! We are also going to Frankie and Bennys on Friday night with the family - ooh I love their mushroom Alfredo! So from today until thursday it's damage limitation for the naughty four days I have had and then from Thursday til Saturday it's going to be torment as to what food to choose.

Hey Angie sorry to hear you have been poorly this week. I hope whatever it was had gone and you are feeling better! The one good thing to come out of being poorly is that you no doubt lose weight, as my mums says "it's an ill wind"

So foods today:

B - weetabix bitesize and milk with chopped banana

L - big salad (2 for salad cream) and mugshot

Snacks - melon, berries with yoghurt. A small chunk of Stilton. 3 apples.

D - butternut, spinach and chickpea curry and rice (2.5). Pitta bread with one laughing cow light triangle with garlic powder an coriander on top and toasted.

This was yummy.

I have been really good today, but I confess I am hungry still, I don't want to use my syns because I feel like I was so bad these last few days and I want to make up for it.

When is your weigh in day ang? You know that sneaky weigh ins don't mean a thing, just like me staying the same on the scales this morning doesn't necessarily mean I got away with four days of naughtiness! Wait and see for weigh in day, I bet you will be pleasantly surprised - fingers crossed for you x

Charley - I found this pic of you on Naughty Step - as warned on my Diary!!!
<img src="http://www.minimins.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=47834"/>

Hope you are having a good Monday...Oxo Tower sounds fab can we all come along? I'm sure your Mum won't mind

Angie - sorry to hear you are poorly, scales are not good midweek, have you got a diary? I love a nose.

Ahh that made me laugh Donna - thank you for that, I will indeed think about my actions!

I can't wait for the Oxo, I have been there once when my boss took me for my birthday last year. Me and my sister are treating mum so I reckon my credit card is going to take a bit of a bashing!

I hope you are having a good day. I am so far but I am really hungry - probably withdrawal symptoms of the thick white bread with butter and pate I had on Saturday (and sunday)! I can't help myself - oh the shame, where's that naughty step again? X

Hey donna, sorry no diary im still getting used to this thing.

Hows slimming world treating u?

Charley hope today is going as planned

Angie xx

1st May

Well I had a good 100% day yesterday, although I was hungry in between meals, which, after the amount I ate over my 'four day faux pas' I am not surprised! I need to embrace those genuine feelings of hunger before my next meal.

So today - green day 2

B - 2 boiled eggs and melon

L - Ermintrude's Egyptian Lentil Curry with pitta bread (HEB) - this was amazing thanks Erm!

L2 - Two cheese salad (HEA 2) and salad cream (2 syns)

Snacks - apple; activia yog (1 syn)

D - Spicy Chicken Rice (1 syn for 1 tbsp chilli sauce) (HEB for chicken)

image-685576903.jpg

image-3178789812.jpg

This was ok, nothing special, it pretty much did what it said on the tin. It was a bit too dry for my liking.

hi charley. the rice looks fab is it the chicken fried rice recipe from recipe board?

well done on being saintly today. u may polish your halo x

Hey hun

Consider my halo well and truly polished, I have polished yours too as you are doing well and putting me on the naughty step helped me stay on track for two days - quite a feat for me!

No its not, but I might try that one, it's from SW mag, twas a bit bland so I added a tbsp of chilli sauce, but that didn't go ver far. I just like trying to do fun things with leftover Sunday dinner! The rest of it is going in my spag carbonara tonight!

I will pop over to your diary for a sneaky peak in a mo.

Ps Thai paste is on my shopping list! I an thinking of going for a Thai fish curry as I have some bass fillets in the freezer. Have a good day! X

The rice looks lovely i like dry food lol easy to make?

Oh it's really simples Ang:

Cooked chicken - I used leftovers from Sunday.
Cooked rice.
Chopped garlic and chilli and ginger (I only had powder but fresh is best) and Chinese five spice, all of this was to my taste, I rarely measured herbs and spices.
A bag of stir fry
Soy sauce
1/2 eggs (I only used one as I had two for brekkie and thought 4 eggs in one day would be too much for the old tum tum to take!

Fry off the cooked rice, ginger garlic chilli and five spice for a few mins until the aromas hit and are well abs truly mixed, add the chicken which I chopped into little pieces (71g) doesnt go very far does it?!? Defo do this on EE day as you can add more chicken. Then add the stir fry mix, a mix that up then shake as much soy sauce in as you wish - then one this is all cooked and ready make a hole in the centre of the pan or wok and break an egg or two. Let it settle for 10/20 seconds and then scramble it around the rest of the dish - et voila - at this point I added some chilli sauce but 1 tbsp didn't go far and I couldn't really taste it. It was nice and it was a massive portion which took ages to eat (I lurve meals like that!) but it felt so saintly because of all the veg. Try it Ang, it really is easy. I have a thread going on the recipe section called foods of the world .. Where we are trying out different foods of a specific country, May is France and I am cooking up a real treat on Friday to post. Come and join, there arent many of us, come and support us. Xx

Thats sounds lovely im going to have to try it, im so lazy when it comes to cooking lol

Hope u have a good day xx

I love being in the kitchen and cooking up a storm!

Have yourself a good day too my love. X
