Why Be Normal?
Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all the Thanksgiving good wishes. My DH and I went to out to dinner at the club on post, where we saw a few families we knew (that was nice because I didn't feel so bad about not cooking and having people over per tradition). I was pretty good about what I put on my plate and limited myself to one plate, incl. the salad on it.
I did eat a small piece of pie (left most of crust) and met up with one of my son's friends serving it (that was nice kind of a substitute son visit). Later, I spoke with my sister-in-law, niece and son back in the States... and both families (New York and Florida) were doing the family dinner get together -- and I was glad to hear it.
Then, not wanting to waste my "bonus" day off, I went and got my hair done (full head highlights, etc.) -- this is big splurge for me. My hair grows fast so I can't justify getting it coloured professionally on regular basis. I am very pleased with the result, and hope that this will compensate for being heavier this year at the company Christmas party than I was last (next Friday night).
Re: regaining wight lost. Unfortunately, it is very easy to gain weight back. Due to being on a VLCD your body becomes very efficient: so, for every 3,500 extra calories you consume you'll gain a pound. I only needed 1400 calories a day to maintain. when I was at my lowest weight of about 9 stone 3 lbs. That means I was consuming about an extra 235 calories day (still less than 1800 per day!), as I added back about 2 pounds a month. Then I went on holiday and gained about 2 per week!
So, unless I am doing a lot of exercise (for me) I can very easily consume too many calories. Once I realized that I was approaching having put nearly 2 stone back on: I decided to try LLL. It didn't work for me. I moved on to CD. I have taken off about 1/2 a stone and still want to lose at least 1 1/2 stone. I have not taken up exercising regularly again but wil have to, with the understanding that it HAS to become a part of life for all time.
I have had a CS shake and some coffee so far today. I am going to try very hard to stick to the plan, I know I can lose weight if I do this -- I did before. And, hopefully, this time I will stay committed once I am maintaining.
I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday. I am going to go post on the "Atta Girl" thread, as I have already accomplished few things today instead of eating!
