And they went right back up again this morning!!!

Chels, as Gail has said your daily weight varies a lot. I managed to gain almost 3 lb over night once!! And lost it again the next day. Don't take too much notice.

You're doing well - finally adjusting to SW after the vlcd diet and it will start to go soon.

Just back from the techno-desert that is my mother-in-laws in Cornwall (no signal at all for my dongle!) so only now got a chance to comment.

My advice - move house and chuck out all the ones you don't use! We did this 5 years ago when we came to Spain and now I use all my gadgets that we kept.

EXCEPT . . . . my bread maker! We used this all the time in the UK and very successful it was too. But bread flour is SOOOOOOO expensive in Spain, and bocadillos so cheap that it now lurks in the utility room cupboard. Totally unloved!

I weigh every day and my weight varies a lot (I can post a selection of my daily weights if you want ???). I use them only as a guide - it is only my Sunday weight that counts. So don't worry, just stick with it :)

Hiya, good to hear from you. I know what that part of the country is like for getting a signal for mobile phones etc., so glad to hear that your dongle is now in service!!!

I'm not a huuuuuuuge lover of gadgets in the kitchen but have been known to buy the odd 'genius' contraption that lies dormant after a couple of uses. I have no qualms about getting rid of such useless objects. I have moved house so many times over the last few years and every single time I have a radical clear-out. I shall be completely possession-less soon. :D

Thank you, by the way, for bringing the lovely Spanish sunshine to these shores. It has been fab over the last couple of weeks, bet you'll be glad to get back to Spain to cool down lol xxx
 
Hello Chels... have been awol due to floundering about under mountains of work, have now got an extension till after the weekend so light at the end of the tunnel. Had 2 hours sleep last night so brain is fried (with fry-lite, natch) so awarding myself some internet time before I fall into a coma.

I have tried to put in 'significant' food events - assume that most/all other days are just normal days where I have control over what I ate and stuck to plan. Some of the gains have absolutely no reason behind them. I do not have any 'treats' on WI day that are different to any other day or eat any differently (although sometimes I weigh in a little bit later than other days). As you can see, there are some days when I have suddenly lost 1 or 2 lbs for no obvious reason. Other days, gained 1 or 2 lb for no obvious reason.

Wow, Gail, thanks so much for this. It is incredible how it fluctuates on a daily basis and I think you are fantastic to be able to carry on regardless, when the scales go up. All I tend to be doing is going through the "why bother" train of thought...........hence me backing off from here. I don't get paid until next week and have been having to just make do with food this week and the scales are going up and I am getting so despondent. I will take great heart from this and will try and emulate your determination and will to succeed and TRY not to take too much notice of the number on the blooming scales!!!

Morning Mel and Bess,

I am floundering somewhat but still haven't given up completely............had a lovely Easter, no chocolate but plenty of other naughty stuff...alcohol, cream teas etc., weight went up by 4lbs over the weekend but back down 3lbs this morning.

Hope you are ok and that you had a fab time over the holiday. What fantastic weather we had? I was sooo hot on Friday, my flat was unbearable in the evening. What is it going to be like in July/August? Probably pi$$ing down with rain, that's what hahahaha.

I had a fab weekend. Lots to do and even managed to fit in some laundry and housework yesterday. It suddenly occurred to me that it was back to work today and I had done absolutely NOTHING of a domestic nature. Not that I need to prepare a load of work clothes this week as I am working today, finish early tomorrow and then have Thursday, Friday and Monday off :D:D Luvly jubbly.
