I'm fed up today! I feel like I'm having to push myself to the extreme to lose any weight. I have ups on saturday, sunday & wednesday - the rest are always downs. Last sunday I had about 800 calories (mostly wine lol) and wednesday maybe about 600 calories :/ yesterday I did a fast all day and today I'm about to chew my arm off! I've had a small avacado so far and I'll have 300 calories later. I feel like I have to do this before Paris, because (other than last week) I'd stayed the same for ages. Once I'm back from Paris (maybe even while I'm there) I'll start doing alternate days because this is just crazy! I may as well be doing a VLCD.

Weigh-in tomorrow! Better be good :/

Also, I know I'm getting smaller even though I'm hardly losing anything. My measurements are going down & my clothes are falling off me. I'm in a comfortable 14 (started in tight 18's) and I'm getting a lot of "you've lost loads" comments. I actually feel much smaller - why aren't the scales showing it too!? Grr. I read an article about how once the fat leaves cells, sometimes they'll fill back with water for weeks, then you get a sudden drop. I'm waiting.. lol
 
It does sound like you're not getting enough calories and I think the whole JUDDD thing is to do with the big swing between ups and downs. I need to not take that so far though with my crazy ups lol.

Aww that is great! It feels good when others notice and comment about losing weight - you know you're going in the right direction then.

I read an article about how once the fat leaves cells, sometimes they'll fill back with water for weeks, then you get a sudden drop. I'm waiting.. lol

I also read something about this recently on another site. It certainly made me think about small losses or even STS's. If only losing weight was as simple as we'd like... Seems for us ladies it's more complex with our hormones etc xx
 
I think you're not eating enough calories on UD and having too many DD's. Your body is probably storing fat thinking there's a famine. I'd do alternate DD UD with two UD on a weekend and make sure that on UD you eat at least 1,500 calories. I made the same mistake myself the first week and actually gained.

Thanks! I was chuffed because one person saw me only the week before and said the same thing. Definitely an ego boost lol.

Yeah it makes a lot of sense, also makes me want to drink more water! I've started drinking hot water and lemon every morning, apparently that helps. x

I know eating so little is probably pointless, but from September until 2 weeks ago, trust me, my ups were pretty huge! lol. The reason I'm trying this is to hopefully kick start things again. I looked into how to break a plateau, tried extra exercise and various stuff but nothing seemed to work. What I'm doing worked last week, finally lost 2lbs after hardly losing anything in ages. If I don't lose anything tomorrow I'll make sure I have at least 2-3 decent ups until Paris, then start again properly. Btw my Saturday ups are always high :p. Thanks for the advice girls x
 
Lost another 2lbs! Yay =D so I'm 12 stone 11 lbs now. The first two readings said 12 stone 8 1/2 but I always take the highest. Fingers crossed I'll get a big loss next week.

Just updated my stats and realised I'm finally back in the 170's! I've not been this weight since 2010, 1 more lb to go to reach my summer 2010 weight =D
 
Well done on the loss, you are doing great. Enjoy the wine & take away. Caution on the alcohol though...if most of your cals come from alcohol rather than food its stored straight away as fat on the stomach rather than used for energy as it has no nutritional value. Your body then uses lean body mass (muscle0 for its fuel instead, which explains why alcoholics consume masses of calories but have thin bodies and pot bellies!!! Not saying you have too much alcohol, but you did say on one day you had low calories but most from alcohol which rather defeated having a low day1

I'm not sure thats true Jilly, alcohol is actually digested first as it uses the same enzymes that are used to digest carbs, which means that alcohol calories (about 7cals per gram) are burned and then your food calories, which is often what leads to weight gain.

For juddd no alcohol should be consumed on a DD regardless of whether it fits into your cals or not, because simply put when you are burning alcohol for fuel you're not burning fat and that is what defeats the purpose.
