Daily chat...

unfortunately the smallest stuff I have is the stuff I'm in :).... aside from a few size 12 t-shirts...that are a little on the short side 'til I get down a few pounds....

Saying that for the first time ever I am getting into items that I have bought years ago and never worn - you can spot me a mile off - the desperately unfashionable one :)

(I know for sure that a jumper I have been wearing, I bought way before my DD was born and she is nearly 17!!)
ooooohhhh ditto i had a 13 yr old sweatshirt on yesterday so uncool but i could get into it lol

Don't do it Sarah - they will never be right!!

Yes, definitely agree with this, especially if you're forking out a lot of money. You can never tell quite how your body shape is going to change and what your measurements will eventually be.

Jean brands all tend to fit differently, so I'd recommend making a promise to yourself that you'll buy that expensive pair WHEN you reach your goal. That way, you're more likely to end up with some that fit perfectly and don't gape or pull at the waist, hips or thighs.

Make them a really great incentive for the future.

On the old clothes front M&S are doing the bring in old m&s clothes for us to give to oxfam and we'll give you a voucher thing this weekend.
Might be good for getting rid of too big things if you have any of theirs.

I'm actually braving the induction for the gym in my building this weekend (someone else organised and I'm tagging along) so there might be some exercise in my future.

jaqys thanks for the tip but where can I find out more? Can't find any info anywhere to check if my local M&S is participating and haven't got time to check in person. I might actually have a few choice items this time round! Or does it last longer than just a weekend?

THANKS!! yes it is. For those who care here are the T&Cs: vouchers are time-limited and for a minimum spend. however if you were going to have a clear-out anyway it's probably worth it!

Hello there Vickki... I really do understand how difficult it must be for you being so far from your Mum at this critical time. Your family needs you at home as well, so it's only natural for you to feel low at times. She knows that you are there for her though...

Jeans are a nightmare. I have four pairs I wear regularly now at this weight, yet each is a totally different size! At the weekend, I discovered a Hilfiger size 6 in the back of my wardrobe (from my friend in the U.S. of course) which fits - yet I've still some 10s from her which don't! Go figure! Definitely something to try on before buying... (and even hang onto for an hour, wandering around the shop, to see how they "grow"!!)

Thinking of you, Vickki and hope the biopsy op goes as well as possible.

I have newish jeans - 4 new pairs - and have no intention of buying more for at least 10 years. Hate shopping!

Thanks guys xxx
I just spoke to my mammie, She didnt have to go ICU this time!! She sounded so cute!! So glad it all went well, Shes just starving and they are not feeding her yet :) , Now just have to wait ten days for these results..... then maybe deal with the kidney. She is busting to get down here for a holiday so has something to look forward to :)
Just wanted to share my good news with you guys , Hope your day and Dukans going well xxxxx

I'm just up to london mon-thurs next week to see some new shows and friends for drinks. Mostly I'm excited for no work.

"just"? sounds great to me... let us know what you're seeing, where you're eating etc etc. I used to live in London many moons ago and still get excited when the train pulls in... (had the best pizza EVER last time in London! Zizzi's... will never forget the name of that restaurant... easy to stick in the mind of a French speaker ;) hey Robin?!)
