Daniis diary to success!

Hi all,

It's my first day and first attempt at Cambridge after doing every diet under the sun. Mainly weight watchers but after they went to pro points I couldn't get my head round it anymore! Anyway need to lose around 3 stone to get to goal of safely under 10 stone ish. Needed to get some weight off quickly for an event I have at end of June so thought Cambridge would help!

Anyway I'm doing step 2, as I have a fairly active job and also i like to exercise. Plus I eat my main meal with my team and didn't relish the idea of having to explain why I was drinking a shake! (am I the only one that likes to keep dieting a secret- I think it's because I'm afraid of having to explain if I fail) anyway first pack - maple pecan porridge! Nearly heaved but after a while tasted ok. Got a slight cold do think it may make this a bit extra hard!

Planning on 2 strawberry shakes during the day and seared tuna steak with stir fried broccoli and cabbage for dinner.
Please stop by and off any advice you can. If anyone has any 200cal meal ideas I'd love to hear them! Otherwise I can see me eating a combo of chicken and broccoli and tuna and brocollli! Lol

Hi
We're in the same boat I think. I want to lose 4 stone if possible. I was on slimming world before this but it took too long!
I too don't want to tell people, don't want to be judged have to explain if I fail. I've bought a shake cup that has a small whisk in it so I can secretly have by lunch without an audience.
Good luck!

Thanks! I know it's so silly to feel this way but I hate being judged on my dieting - anyway at least its not just me then. Anyway if people notice any losses I'll tell them what I'm up to! I'll make sure I subscribe to your diary! Good luck getting through the 1st few days!

Welcome and good luck with cd - I have only told hubby & kids as don't want to have to justify it and deal with the "you'll just put it straight back on" & how dangerous type comments!! So quite understand where you coming from.

First week is tough so stick with it & it gets easier.

Thank you! I need all the support I can get. At least we can share on here as well and not be judged! Day one has been tough. Thinking about food even though not overly hungry! - bit strange!
But day nearly over and plan to go to bed ASAP so I can sleep away the hunger!!!

Right day one went like this :-
Maple Pecan Porridge around 11am - nearly heaved!
Strawberry shake 3pm. Ok I guess
Tuna and cabbage 6:30pm. Surprisingly tasty!
Strawberry shake 10pm! Bit late I know but just got back from work.
3 litres of water, 3 cups of tea with skimmed milk.

Finding it hard not to snack, really wanted chewing gum or a sweet! Went to the toilet about ten million times! Felt slightly light headed at times but otherwise ok! Roll on ketosis!

My day 1: Fingers crossed the worst is over!

10ish - Choc shake. Surprisingly nice
2pm - chicken and mushroom soup , ok I guess
8pm - original porridge. Disgusting beyond belief. I had to take mouthfuls and literally swig water to make it go down. Vile.

I too have been going to the loo frequently. I've drank more than 4 pints just to stop feeling so hungry. No headaches or tiredness today thank goodness.

Good luck with day 2!!!

Day 2.
Having Apple and cinnamon porridge. - slightly better than maple pecan but still not 100% sure!
Woke up feeling like the Sahara dessert was in my throat! Surely I shouldn't feel like that after all that water???
Think today will be harder as I'm not working so have less distractions! Off to the gym now for spin class and possibly boxing. But if I don't feel I have enough energy I'll just do spinning!

Thanks Danii. Not sure how today will go, not for my will power but how much I'm going to feel sorry for myself!! We have 4 children and plan to go out for the day to keep them occupied. I think I'll have porridge ( one more chance before I swop them all for shakes), a shake for lunch as its easy to take and make in the bottle thing I bought from the CD lady and then maybe soup for dinner.
I'm already a bit worried about feeling awful on Monday when I go back to work.. It will be day 4. Hope i'll be ok!?

.. Just read about your throat. I'm the same. How weird! I sound like I've smoked 60 fags the night before. I've just been looking at dresses online to motivate me. Pretty maxi dresses, here we come!

So how did today go for you? I cant even begin to imagine how hard following Cambridge must be with a Family, Its just me to worry about and I still feel like dieting is like a full time job! Yeah the throat thing is very weird I'm still really horse and thirsty. Not sure what that's about. Sipping on my water and hoping that this will pass!

Yeah I'm horse too.. Thought I might be coming down with something but guess its just a change to our diet. My body is used to c**p and loads if diet coke instead of water!
Today has been a mixture. Start of today I was a grumpy mare, bad headache and felt sorry for myself. After porridge around 1pm I had a burst of energy and cleaned my house. Later this evening I had SS+ meal of mushroom omelette and lettuce. Don't think I've ever been so excited about food before. How sad. Luckily my husband has sorted out the kids food mainly today. I made beans on toast earlier for them, but it was ok. I've now got a thumping headache and I'm hungry again. Think I'll go to bed soon and dream of shorts and spaghetti strap tops!! (for this summer hopefully!)
How has your day been? So glad this forum is here, it's great to have ppl to chat to who are feeling the same x

Yes this forum is an absolute life saver. Is currently helping me to stay on the straight and narrow! Today was not as bad as I was expecting it to be.
Had apple and cinnamon porridge for breakfast, went to the gym and didnt get back till nearly 3pm when I had a chocolate shake.- I have to say it was not bad!
Had 2 poached eggs with 80g mushrooms and trying to delay my last shake for another few mins as I hate going to bed even slightly hungry!
Whens your 1st weigh In?

My weigh in is on Tuesday. I saw the CD consultant Tuesday for 1st time but didn't start diet til Friday as I didn't want to start it when I was at work ( I don't work Fridays) Actually I think I'll ask her if I can swop appointment for Friday so I get a better result. I'm not weighing myself at home as weight changes throughout the day AND daily on CD I guess.
I've watched 'Im a celeb get me out of here' and laughed when they say they miss food and it's all they can think about. I know what they mean now!
Have a good sleep.. We're 1 day nearer to our goal.

Day 2 over!
Apple and cinnamon porridge -ok
Chocolate - nice
2 poached eggs with 80g mushrooms
Chocolate mint (blended with ice) - was quite lush!
2.5 hrs of exercise (boxing and spin) with a stinking cold which seems to be getting worse!

Going to bed now to get plenty of rest for day three! - I'm expecting it to be painful!!!!!!

Start of day 3
Feel ok,
Maple pecan porridge again. Tastes slightly better than day one but does anyone have any tips to make the porridge more palatable???

Thank you - I did wonder if I could use cinnamon. I'll try that then tomorrow!
