Has anyone else noticed how stupidly expensive fruit, veg and salad is?? :mad:

Just got back from tesco and I swear half of the bill was spent on my fruit and veg for the week. It just annoys me that processed stuff is so expensive, yet I'm trying to do something healthy, to look after my body and it costs so much :sigh:
 
It is really expensive, I went to Asda this morning and spent £24 just on fruit and Veg!
£24 might not seem like much but as a student it's a lot every week :(
I try to go to fruit and veg shops now instead of the big supermarkets as they are usually cheaper xx
 
Way too expensive. I don't have an aldi near me but the lidl has good offers and have a look at the local markets. I got a huge bunch of bananas for a pound!!
 
Emily - switch to frozen veg as its just as good and way cheaper :)

Also you could try Aldi for fresh fruit and veg too x

Wow well done on 3lb loss. Excellent and much deserved. I know what you mean about fruit and veg costing so much. It annoys me but then I just think how much I would have spent on chocolate, biscuits, cakes combined and rationalise me spending tons on fruit instead. Not right though, why would someone buy a mango when they could buy a whole ready meal for less??!

Have had the hairdresser here this morning so wasn't able to get on earlier. So am going to have a catch up now :D

Food for today (green day)

Breakfast - 2 alpen light bars (hexb)
Snack - banana
Lunch - grilled cheese (hexa) and tomato sandwich (hexb) with cucumber on the side
Snack - peach
Dinner - tuna (5 syns), pasta, cheese (hexa) and sweetcorn
Snack - crisps (5 syns) and muller light
Total syns - 10
 
Food plan for today (EE)

Breakfast - peach, banana, shreddies and milk (5 syns and hexa)
Lunch - Tomato and cucumber sandwich (hexb)
Snack - 1/2 dragon fruit
Dinner - gammon, egg, sw chips and salad
Snack - crisps (5 syns)
Planned syns - 10

Just doing a quick food plan for today as I'm on the ipad and it's a pain to type with, so I'll do a proper catch up tonight on the laptop

Dinner - sweet and sour sauce with rice
Snack - toast (hexb and 6 syns for spread and jam), crisps (5 syns)
