*deep breath* my journey to a thinner / healthier me

I think I might pinch your menu the week sounds brilliant xx,
I didn't find this site for a few months after starting sw, and then it was a while before I started my diary so can't look back to my early weeks ,

Morning sweetie, what a good idea, while I didn't find mini's for quite a while after joining sw I did use the online food diary on SW site so I think I too will go back and have a look what I was doing then...thanks for the good idea hun
xx

Hope you have a lovely day and the sun shines down on you :hug99: xxxxxxxxxxx

Today's food plan

Breakfast - grapes, banana, big bowl of special k (10 syns) and milk (hexa)
Lunch - fruit salad and 2 alpen light bars (hexb)
Dinner - chilli con carne
Snack - 2 muller lights
Syns - 10

I wanted to try something new today and allow myself to use my syns on cereal rather than sweet things and see how I go. It's just a trial thing for today, but I wanted to see if I felt deprived at the end of the day. I just thought it would be a good idea to fill up on fibrous cereal in the morning rather than eating rubbish at night time. And in the past big bowls of cereal have stopped me from wanting to snack on stupid stuff during the day :giggle:

Soooo excited :woohoo: 10 weeks tomorrow and it's TURKEY!!!! We'll be at Chris' mum and dad's house and knowing me I'll probably be wide awake, bouncing off the walls, too excited to anything :8855:

Hey!

Sorry I havent been round much on your diary. I think it's a good idea to look at what you did at the beginning of your journey because I think we all get into a rut. Do you eat enough? Maybe it's because I'm a pig but you don't have that much food in my opinion. I think you should keep all your fruit but for example rather than just having fruit salad for lunch could you have pasta and veg beforehand then the fruit salad. Just a thought, my consultant is always saying that the more you eat on plan, the more you lose. May also help you from going off track.

You're doing well though, really well. Just think of turkey and what you want to wear when you're out there :)

Take care x

My problem, and I'll fully admit this, is I get complacent and lazy and then end up piling weight back on. If I'm facing a gain on friday, it's going to be completely down to myself.

I have had some white bread today, but nowhere near as much as the past few days, so that initself is a big improvement. I've put some sw chips in the oven now as I was getting peckish and wanted to save my chilli for later on :)

The thing is I don't get hungry, I just get like a little bit peckish and then I make really bad choices. I want to try and stop that. Maybe making some scan bran cakes would help and veggie quiche to store in the freezer, just things I could easily put in the oven and reheat or grab a slice of that's either free or low in syns.

I don't know how saturday is going to go food wise as we're eating out at Cheshire Oaks, but I'll try and make sure that breakfast is on plan, then I think we're having takeaway, but I'll be having chicken kebab (giving Chris the pita bread) with salad :D

I've been doing it loads lately and I can't even pinpoint why. I'm going to try and sweet talk Chris into nipping to Holland and Barret for me in the morning to pick up a couple of packs of scan bran so I can attempt to make some cakes to snack on while travelling to Cheshire on friday night, which has got to be loads better than eating loads of crisps and chocolate

I think your plan sounds good, having something to hand you can have without much effort when you are struck by a moment of weakness is the way to go, and if it can be syn free or low then so much the better. I tried my nearest H & B for scan bran and they looked at me like I had horns. Then complained that the press were always saying they stocked stuff they'd never even heard of. Ho Hum so much for that plan. :)

I might have to skip that idea then and order it off their website.

I think what I'll try and do is stay syn free all day friday and then it means I can have fruit until oswestry and get a travel pack of cornflakes and semi skimmed milk from the services and use my syns on that :) plus it'll make me feel like I'm having a treat :giggle:

Hope this week goes well and looking back in your food diary sounds good..I might need to try that

sounds like you have really given the weekend some thought :D, I am sure you will be fine. not planning poperly is always my down fall.

you can by scan bran in some holland and barrett shops so it might be worth a try, i have bought it from our local one :D

Sorry I didn't mean to put you off for the scan bran I was just having a whinge about my local one. Hope ypur plan comes together fully. :)

Ours is only a teeny tiny one, so it probably doesn't have it either :giggle:

We had one hell of a night last night. Mum's cat brought a live mouse in the house and decided it would be fun to let it go and play with for a bit, but then growl at any other cat who came near her. It was hilarious because it went up the side of mum's china cabinet and the cat was looking for it underneath really baffled as to where it had gone and then all of a sudden it stuck it's head out the side of it :8855: Chris caught it in the end and set it free in the garden

Food plan for today

Breakfast - strawberries, banana, 2 alpen light bars (hexb)
Snack - apple
Lunch - pasta and cheese (hexa), fruit salad
Dinner - chips and cheese (hexa) with bbq sauce (2 syns)
Snack - fibre plus bar (hexb), 2 muller lights

359 this morning so 2.5 back on, which is less than I was expecting, so I can take that.

I'm going to try and be as on plan as I can possibly be over the weekend and plan on having a 100% week so that come next friday I can go back down to the 356s or even less :D

I've got a super busy day planned, got to get things ready for tonight so we can get out of the house as soon as Chris gets back from work so he can mostly drive in the light. So I need to pack clothes for the weekend, toiletries, make up, stuff for Chris, make sure both laptops, chargers etc are packed, phone chargers. I dread to think what it'll be like when we have kids :giggle:

I also plan on dying my hair today. I put what was meant to be a light brown on it earlier this week and it almost went black. So I've stripped the colour and am now at a lightish ginger colour. So I'm putting a semi permanent ash blonde on it for the next few weeks. Then I'll put a permanent dark blonde on it and get my cousin to highlight it towards the middle of may and it'll be all nice and settled in for when we go to turkey :)

Ok enough rambling as I've got way too much to do (I'll try and pop on and catch up with everyone in between jobs, so it might take me a while)

Food plan for today

Breakfast - peach, banana, muller light
Snack - 2 x alpen light bars (hexb)
Lunch - large fruit salad
Dinner - I have no idea, I'll try and grab a salad or something as low syn as possible on the road
Snack - again, not sure as I'll try and grab something on the road
Syns - will try and keep as low as possible, am aiming for 14 or less

hope everyone has a good day xxx

Afternoon Emily, sounds like a busy day.... Don't worry about the gain, as long as you stick to plan this week you'll have it off by next WI :)
Also, what part of Turkey are you off too? You've probably mentioned it before but I'm so forgetful lol xx

Afternoon hun, I really believe that forward planning is the best way with food, once I get complacent and don't bother to forward plan then that's when I find myself putting weight back on.
So I started last night planning my whole menu's for April, not necessarily exactly what meal but the types of foods that I will be cooking for B, L and D, and even Snacks, that way if I stick to my planner I am likely to stick to losing weight.
Have you made the marmite loaf yet or the curry loaf .....but relatively low or syn free and easy to pack for snacking.....what about chicken thighs or drumsticks and a pack of wet wipes lol, boiled eggs, and yep the scan bran cakes are nice enough.....go through the list I sent you, plenty of snacky foods on there cos I use them at my parties ...plus if you want I can look on iceland cos a lot of their snack foods are either free or really low syns too. :hug99: xxxxx

We're going to Dalyan, it's where the loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs. They have a beach that is closed to the public after 08.00 pm until 07.00 am so that the turtles are protected :)

I haven't had chance to make anything as I haven't been able to buy any scan bran, but am going to order some from their website and am hoping to make the marmite loaf from the list next week.

When you say snacks from iceland, which ones do you mean hun?
