Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Good thanks Mary...just getting on with the droll of everyday life! lol

Trying to stay away from comfort eating! :)

This weather doesnt help much with the comfort eating, so damp and cold all the time. Roll on October to get some sunshine in Turkey again.

Last shift tonight then off until Tuesday.

We are building a Gazebo out the back at the moment and we have some friends coming up on Satuday, so depending on weather, if its nice we will continue building and have a few drinks in the garden, but if its rainy weather, then no doubt we will end up in the pub most of the day.

I was thinking of making a Shepherds Pie and a Chicken Curry, at least it will be filling food without me having to snack on nibbles all day.

I find if I eat a big meal I am not looking for other things, but if its all party food I could easily pick all night long.

Sounds like a good plan Mary! Have a lovely day. We've got 2 of the grandchildren getting christened on Sunday, so there will be party food around. My 2 freezers are full of cakes !!! I have a cousin staying over Sat & Sun too ... but it'll be lovely xx

Still maintaining my weight even though I am eating more and more carbs too. Just sticking to 3 healthy meals a day and trying not to nibble in between.

I think what works for me is my shifts. I work 4 x 12 hour shifts and I am always really good on these, then on my 4 days off, thats when I snack/nibble a little more, so it seems to balance itself out.

Typical meals I have been having are

Breakfasts, 1 of the following.
Porridge followed by boiled egg and ryvita.

Continental breakfasts, tomato, cucumber, cheese, olives, boiled egg, wholemeal bread.

Grilled bacon with poached egg, tinned or fresh tomatoes, wholemeal toast.

Lunches

Usually home made soup with meat/chicken, full of lentils, barley etc.

Wholemeal sandwiches with meat and salad.

Dinners,

Just normal dinners now.

Pork chop, potatoes, veg.
Steak, fat free chips, salad.
Gammon, potatoes, veg, parsley sauce.

Really got respect for food lately and by eating larger meals, but healthy, it stops me from feeling the need to snack.

Long may it continue.

I have maintained for 4 months now and I am extremely happy as this is the longest I have ever maintained my weight. Usually after losing weight it starts to creep back on after a month or so.

I think you're doing great Mary!

It's funny - your shifts seem to work for you, I feel mine work against me! :) I once maintained for 2 years by being really strict while on my 3 nights and relaxed in between like you but now - when on my nights I seem to be constantly wanting something! When I'm on my days off I'm not bad at all food wise but like to have a drink!!

S'ard this maintaining lark  xx

Thank you Jan.

I think what helps me as well Jan is the fact that I can only eat what I bring with me, the only other food that is here is what the other workers bring, plus the fact that Asda is just across the road, but I am just hooked on the clothes shopping there.

The alcohol seems to be the trigger point with me, on my days off I have alcohol then its the next day that I pick on snacky type foods. If I didnt drink I would probably have lost more weight.

I am sure you will soon get into a pattern, its taken me this long to really establish a pattern where I am eating and not being scared. The biggest hurdle was actually eating more, as beforehand I was having much less, but never feeling completely satisfied. Its definitely the weight watchers core plan that works for me, but I have altered it slightly as to maintain.

See you tonight chick xx

Yes I must admit - stuff being around and me being on my own doesn't help . Losing weight is definitiely the easy part though!!

If it only takes me 4 months to establish a reasonable pattern I'll be happy ;). What I don't want to do is gain each week for a few weeks then diet for a week to get that off and then repeat, and I've already gained 2 weeks in a row ... ho hum ... keep trying I tell myself!xx

I know I have said it before Mary, but I like to look at your menus! They seem so sensible and right! And they appeal to me :) So, I will be coming on to see what you are having and pinching it ;-)!!!

You are doing so well and give me so much hope you really do.....2 weeks tomorrow Turkey here I come ;-)!!

Its just about finding out what is right for us as individuals, maybe what others eat I couldnt cope with and vice versa. I just find it easier to shop and cook for normal meals now and me and OH can eat together instead of doing seperate meals. He is so fussy with his food that it just makes life simpler.

Ooooh not long for Turkey now. I still have 62 sleeps before I return to Icmeler - I cant wait.

kendine iyi bak.

Its my Birthday on Monday, so I wont be in work, this is my last shift, but its normal to bring in some goodies. Well, I brought NOTHING healthy. I brought, fresh cream chocolate eclairs, fresh cream profiteroles, large tube of pringles, savoury eggs, chocolate doughnuts.

Already I have had an eclair, 2 profiteroles, some pringles and 2 savoury eggs. ARRGGGH, usually in work I am good....extra day to cut back next week now lol.

Ha Ha ..... well it IS a big birthday ....... so BIG celebrations are on the cards ;) xx

I hope you have a lovely time - whatever you're doing xx

Mary ,hope you have a smashing birthday .You really deserve it girl .:birthday::candle1:.

well hope you have a nice birthday, its my daughter's birthday today (monday) too. Only problem is she came home for the weekend and we have pigged out on food and booze. So going to have to be good over the next few days. I dont see her very often now, so it was worth it, but I really have to be focused to get back on track. Still trying to be careful during the week. May look into ww core plan myself too.

Hope you're having a great day Mary!!! xxx
