Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Hope you have a very happy birthday!

Thank you all for your good wishes. Well I have had a birthday weekend, not just one day. Non stop partying from Saturday night until Monday night, but it went well and its nice to sober up today.

I did drink too much but didnt eat much in the way off fattening stuff, so quite chuffed really.

Highlight of my birthday was my Husbands present - I had been hinting for a Wi Fit - well he did buy it for me, but when I asked where the console was, he didnt have a clue what I was talking about. I said, thats like buying me a car battery for a car but no car lol. So I now have a wi fit, but no nintendo wi.....hehe. He has offered to buy me the console, but I think I will just return the fit and buy something else. Caused a great deal of amusement though.

Oh for goodness' sake!!!! MEN!!! :):):) xx

Glad you had a good time though xxx

Go and buy yourself something really nice when you exchange it :)

coming up to Bonnie Scotland at the weekend!!! Really looking forward to it, so no doubt my accent will become thicker afterwards (as per usual)!!

That makes me laugh Iris, I left Scotland in 1981 and my Family think I sound quite Welsh now, but everyone in Wales still thinks I sound Scottish. As soon as I talk to someone Scottish though, I can feel myself reverting back to the 'broad' Scottish accent that will never go away.

Have a lovely time in Scotland.

We never fully lose the accent! I am laughed at when I go back as they say I sound like someone from the Highlands as I am so softly spoken (to them), but down here I sound Scottish :) Not particularly Glaswegain...never did sound broad,,,must have been snobby ;-)!!

My Sister is arriving at the end of August from Lancaster for a few days, so no doubt I will be very Scottish sounding on those days.

I have decided to post my menu's again due to the binges I have had on days after drinking too much alcohol.

Still maintaining my weight between 10st and 10st 4lbs.

Today's menu.

Breakfast (at lunch time due to working nights tonight.
35g porridge made with semi skimmed milk and water, with a spoonful of raisins.

Dinner, Fish grilled in breadcrumbs with fat free home made chips, sweetcorn and peas. Quarter of a honeydew melon.

Supper, Home made chicken soup, 2 slices linseed bread with ham, salad and mustard. Peach.

I have another quarter of a melon incase I get hungry during the night, but I usually dont.

Looks good Mary ... now see if I brought that melon with me I'd eat it - just coz I'd brought it! Once I start my 'lunch' I have to eat everything I've brought ... it's ridiculous I know. I didn't bring a snack pack of fruit & nuts tonight for that reason. Last night I ate them quite early on - just coz they were there really, but then my wrap was nagging me until I ate it! Then straight after I had the fruit, so I'd finished everything I'd brought by about 2.30am daft really when I'd another 4.5 hrs to go. There's no rhyme or reason to it! xx

Because I only work 2 nightshifts, I try not to alter my eating pattern too much, so I usually just wind things on about 3 hours. I usually have breakfast about 1pm, then dinner about 5pm, then my supper at 11pm as I dont like to eat too late.

I had my soup and sandwich about 11 tonight and still feel really full and I think its all in my imagination that I have had my 3 meals, so I just dont get hungry. I go straight home in the morning and straight to bed, then my breakfast is usually about 1pm again. Seems to work out quite well. I also did the same with the shakes when I was on TFR.

I just think of what I have in the night as what I'd have in the day the next day if I wasn't in bed. Usually the day I start I have my 3 meals as normal and next day's lunch in the night. So although I've had 4 meals this is compensated for by only having one meal when I rotate back to going to bed at night.

I always try to get as full a quota of sleep as possible. I'm convinced this is what's kept me relatively healthy and sane through 23 years of permanent nights!!

Because it's not a 'busy' job though - it's more a 'watching over' type thing - I can get bored. What I did before I had my laptop I really don't know. I'm on it all night these days. Even before I could get onto the internet (and now when I can't) I'd watch dvds, write, work on photos and videos etc etc. Technology certainly has it's uses. xx

Today's Food.

Banana when I got home from work at 7am.

Breakfast 1pm, 30g porridge made with skimmed milk and water, few raisins.

Dinner, Fat free chips made with frylite, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 poached eggs - this was scrumptuous. Followed by honeydew melon.

Supper in work. I have brought home made soup and a ham/salad sandwich on linseed bread. Nectarine and melon.

It was lovely and all so healthy. My OH had the crispy fat off the bacon and the taste of bacon egg and chips together was wonderful, its the first time I have had it since maintaining as a dinner and it wont be the last.

Mary, how much milk and water do you use? skimmed milk???? xxxx

For 30g porridge I use 150ml of skimmed milk and 150ml of water, just mix it together and blast in the microwave for about 2 minutes, if its a little thick, just add a splash of cold milk when it comes out, then add some raisins. Just keep checking it doesnt boil over though if you are going to make it.
