Well ladies, and mark if you are around,
I am off to bed, as I am going for my final, final, final shop at George at Asda tomorrow. I wasnt going to buy anything else (wardrobes will hardly close) but we had the brakes done on one of the cars today, so we wanted to give it a good run tomorrow, so George at Asda came out favourite.
Is anyone else addicted to buying clothes since losing weight? I honestly DONT need anything, but I cant resist buying anything that I like the look of, this has been going on for over a year and my wardrobes really ARE full. I have 3! - wardrobes that is.
I went through phases Mary where I couldnt stop buying..but lately I havent, probably becaues of the same reason as Jan. But, I have so many clothes that I havent worn either and I just never feel right about keep buying. I must admit I am more sensible now and think, "have I got something like this already"! More often than not, I can say yes...so I dont buy! My big thing is shoes..I have to have at least 50+ between shoes, boots, sandals and trainers! It is absolutely obscene to be honest, but I cant help it!!! Again, I have been good recently and only bought 1 pr of sandals!! go me!! haha...
It is a nice feeling though, if you have only been able to shop in a particular shop for clothes and know that only baggy things will suffice to all of a sudden, whatever you pick up will fit, etc! Now, that is a nice feeling and one I do with to replicate very much so!!!
OMG! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I can't help it either! I know i shouldnt but still do! Whenever i go shopping i
always have to look around the clothes section and theres pretty much always something that i like!!!!!!!! Still, atleast its better than buying junk food!
Yes, better than junk food buying!!
I went to bed and couldnt sleep.......I think holiday mode is coming into my brain now.
Absolutely Tanya, its better to buy clothes than junk food, but I have clothes that I still have NOT worn. I dont need any.
Anyway, my new promise to myself (after tomorrow) is to STOP buying clothes, unless its something that I really NEED.
Good for you Mary..now, lets see how long it lasts.....I would make a promise that you will wear EVERYTHING in your wardrobe once before buying anything new..haha...easier said than done though!!
Sounds like a good excuse to shop to me!
I think I'm a bit strange re the clothes buying thing. I was saying to Iris last week that this time last year I felt and felt that I looked, quite slim and svelte but now - although I'm more or less the same weight I don't feel like that any more. I'm guessing that last year I was seeing the 'difference' wheras now I'm used to the weight I am I can see that actually I'm not 'slim' there's lots of flab - I'm a large 14, mostly 16.
The temptation is to say I'll lose another stone but I know myself and I know I won't be able to sustain being under 10st and the little amount of calories it would take to do that. And the natural conclusion to that slippery slope is all the weight back on and MORE!
So I guess at the moment I'm trying to come to terms with this being it for me. I find I'm wearing more of my 'hide a multitude of sins' clothes than the fitted stuff. Mainly because instead of making me feel 'held in' they make me feel 'squashed in' and I'm not interested in buying any more.
I'm hoping it's just a phase and I'll be able to see the slim me in the mirror again - same me, it's my eyes that need adjusting LOL! xx
Jan, you look absolutely fabulous...you really do....but I told you that on the day
But, I understand what you mean....this time last year at the weight I am at now, I felt fab!! Today, I feel fat and huge! I cant imagine what I felt like at 14 stone! It is just what we get used to I suppose!!
Yes, same you....and eyes need adjusting because you looked so elegant, stylish and slim when I saw you! And I wouldnt say that if I didnt mean it....
