Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

OMG! YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I can't help it either! I know i shouldnt but still do! Whenever i go shopping i always have to look around the clothes section and theres pretty much always something that i like!!!!!!!! Still, atleast its better than buying junk food! :rotflmao:

I went to bed and couldnt sleep.......I think holiday mode is coming into my brain now.

Absolutely Tanya, its better to buy clothes than junk food, but I have clothes that I still have NOT worn. I dont need any.

Anyway, my new promise to myself (after tomorrow) is to STOP buying clothes, unless its something that I really NEED. :(

Sounds like a good excuse to shop to me! :)

I think I'm a bit strange re the clothes buying thing. I was saying to Iris last week that this time last year I felt and felt that I looked, quite slim and svelte but now - although I'm more or less the same weight I don't feel like that any more. I'm guessing that last year I was seeing the 'difference' wheras now I'm used to the weight I am I can see that actually I'm not 'slim' there's lots of flab - I'm a large 14, mostly 16.
The temptation is to say I'll lose another stone but I know myself and I know I won't be able to sustain being under 10st and the little amount of calories it would take to do that. And the natural conclusion to that slippery slope is all the weight back on and MORE!

So I guess at the moment I'm trying to come to terms with this being it for me. I find I'm wearing more of my 'hide a multitude of sins' clothes than the fitted stuff. Mainly because instead of making me feel 'held in' they make me feel 'squashed in' and I'm not interested in buying any more.

I'm hoping it's just a phase and I'll be able to see the slim me in the mirror again - same me, it's my eyes that need adjusting LOL! xx

:8855: Wonder how long that will last?!!! :p

Jan!!!!! You are looking fab woman! The pic of you and Iris where your holding your stomach, even though your hand is in the way you look amazing. Your right though, i guess we do get used to how we look and start thinking the negative things. I'm constanly asking the bf am i fat. Even though i know that i have maintained being 1st ish up from november for a fair few months now so i cant possibly look any different but still constanly ask.

We are strange creatures aren't we?!!!!

Nowt so queer  xx

Well ladies, and mark if you are around,

I am off to bed, as I am going for my final, final, final shop at George at Asda tomorrow. I wasnt going to buy anything else (wardrobes will hardly close) but we had the brakes done on one of the cars today, so we wanted to give it a good run tomorrow, so George at Asda came out favourite.

Is anyone else addicted to buying clothes since losing weight? I honestly DONT need anything, but I cant resist buying anything that I like the look of, this has been going on for over a year and my wardrobes really ARE full. I have 3! - wardrobes that is.

I went through phases Mary where I couldnt stop buying..but lately I havent, probably becaues of the same reason as Jan. But, I have so many clothes that I havent worn either and I just never feel right about keep buying. I must admit I am more sensible now and think, "have I got something like this already"! More often than not, I can say yes...so I dont buy! My big thing is shoes..I have to have at least 50+ between shoes, boots, sandals and trainers! It is absolutely obscene to be honest, but I cant help it!!! Again, I have been good recently and only bought 1 pr of sandals!! go me!! haha...

It is a nice feeling though, if you have only been able to shop in a particular shop for clothes and know that only baggy things will suffice to all of a sudden, whatever you pick up will fit, etc! Now, that is a nice feeling and one I do with to replicate very much so!!!

Good for you Mary..now, lets see how long it lasts.....I would make a promise that you will wear EVERYTHING in your wardrobe once before buying anything new..haha...easier said than done though!!

Jan, you look absolutely fabulous...you really do....but I told you that on the day :) But, I understand what you mean....this time last year at the weight I am at now, I felt fab!! Today, I feel fat and huge! I cant imagine what I felt like at 14 stone! It is just what we get used to I suppose!!

Yes, same you....and eyes need adjusting because you looked so elegant, stylish and slim when I saw you! And I wouldnt say that if I didnt mean it....

Jan, even though I am about the same weight as last year, I too feel fatter than I was last year, but I think its something to do with the TFR, because I remember the Pharmacist recommending me to lose what remaining lbs I wanted to with a low calorie diet rather than TFR.

I think with TFR we lose it quickly and then when we are used to food again, our skin plumps up a little bit.

I was quite good today girls, I didnt buy too much at all.

I only had one vest in Asda, then I went to Tesco and I had 1 dress, 1 bikini and 2 skirts. Definitely finished now, and I dont intend to buy any more clothes unless I need them. It is silly after all.

Today's Menu.

Got up early and we were leaving early, so I skipped breakfast as I wasnt hungry, just had a cup of tea.

We got back about Midday and I had cheese omelette with side salad. 1 apple.

Dinner was Red salmon (tinned) and a huge salad, followed by strawberries and greek yogurt.

Just had a snack of a tangerine, so might have a couple of oatcakes or something similar later on.

Back to work tomorrow, just 4 shifts before the jollies.

Just 4 shifts! excited much?!!!! :giggle:

Iris, don't even get me started on shoes! I flippin love the things! I have drawers on my bed and 2 of them are filled right up with shoes! If i had to choose between buying clothes or shoes, shoes would always win! :rotflmao:

Yer day is looking good Mary :) xxx

7 sleeps.

1 tonight, then 4 shifts in work, then another 2 sleeps then its TURKEY HERE WE COME, I must admit, I get like a big kid before going away, I just love the buzz.

Got all the clothes sorted into piles today, night wear, new day wear, bikinis, so just got the toiletries to sort now.

Done some more packing - woohoo.

:rotflmao: Sounds like you are well and truely sorted Mary!!! The buzz before the jollies and not sleeping the night before and the take off is just 'mazin! :giggle:

oh, arent you doing well Mary..yes, that feeling of excitement leading up to holibags is just wonderful! You feel alive and dont mind going into work, cause you know you will be sunning yourself shortly !!! Oh, 7 sleeps..arent ya so lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay - lucky you :) :D I love that feeling too :) ANd well done for not yet being in holiday mode - I think I've found it for you!
Interesting what you say about TFR and skin plumping up afterwards Mary. I don't think I AM actually any different (apart from the fluctuations - I can see them too) I think it's a perception thing - but I might be wrong.

And Iris - You're very kind and complimentary, thank you ;) xx

I think with TFR, we tend to look a bit drawn sometimes, but I noticed a few months after TFR, my skin plumped up even though there was no weight gain.

I know, I still cant believe holiday mode has struck yet, even though I am partly packed, excited, you name it, I have it :8855:

Edit - last night I had 3 oatcakes and a small bit of grated cathedral city with 3 cherry tomatoes. Thats what I get for skipping breakfast.

Saturday Food.

Brought to work,

Breakfast, 30g porridge with a small banana.

Lunch, 2 egg salad. Strawberries and Greek Yogurt.

Also brought a small apple and a tangerine for snacks.

Dinner tonight will be, 1 baked chicken breast with basil. Green beans and carrots.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm chicken & basil!

Your menus are so good lately Mary, well done on that. Can't believe you are off in a week, that's come round so quickly. Once I start packing that's when the holiday mood really kicks in!

I am exactly the same Bev, hence the reason I have NOT packed too much yet haha, more in piles on the spare bed. The hard work we have to do to stop our brains getting into gear is beyond!

Thanks Bev, I am really pleased with the menu's lately, I have surprised myself, but thankful. Its got to be the bikini icmeler, bikini icmeler, bikini icmeler attitude........lol.

Well, whatever it is you're doing it's working great! You're showing some really strong restraint just before your hols.

I think next year before my hols it will be tankini, rhodes, tankini, rhodes, tankini, rhodes! Hope it works as well as yours!

I love it, I should have royalties :8855:
Probably after my 4 shifts in work (this is my first) I would imagine holiday mode will set in. Phill has already mentioned having a chinese next Friday afternoon before we set off for the airport about 14:30 but I said I would just have chicken breast and veggies - go me, go me........lol
