Thanks for caring you guys!

Lovely to see you back on your thread - we missed you :D

Meant to ask - how did your boys get on with the PS3 - although that's probably a silly question to which the answer if FAB!!!

:p

And have you refocussed?

Needed space to do you own thing? To experiment? Go wild for a while? Or just not think about food quite so much?

Or....and this could be a big one

OR
(see...told you it could be big!)

.....You don't happen to have a life do you...and where on earth can I get one from?

:thankyou: for missing me MD!

The boys had a lovely day on Saturday when they had their parties and so did their friends. Just shows a simple at home party goes down really well and cost next to nothing too.

The PS3 was secondary to the Wii really as we have lots of the controllers for the wii and so they could play tournaments of ten pin bowling etc. The PS3 was a novelty (but so was the wii to most of the other kids) but Mizzy only had one controller and one driving type game so it wasn't a highlight more of an extra. I definitely think the PS3 is going to be more of a draw for the adult and teenage market.

Not long now until you get yours now!

Do you know it is a little of all of those. As you all know Minmins is another addiction and sometimes you need time out to get on with normal life. I think sometimes that is even more necessary for me as I don't go out to work and so am left to discipline my time myself and sometimes I fail miserably with that.

Diet wise I have been struggling. I was starting to feel that keeping the diary was making me feel extra pressure which was making it harder. I am someone that lets perfectionism sabotage everything I do. If things are going exactly perfectly I have a tendency to give up. This is hard to admit but has caused me to give up on so many things. I suppose ultimately giving up on myself which is easy when you have kids as you can focus on them and put yourself on the back burner. Now I am trying to refocus on myself but it is one step at a time. I am doing well but it's not easy is it? This is too heavy for this time in the morning so a big fullstop here.

I am confused about why I have been faultering with the diet so much. I know this is a common way to feel but that's no consolation when I am wanting to understand and deal with my own behaviours.

I really want to crack the Gi plan. I love the foods and know they will be so good for me. But now I have put on 1 stone 3lbs from my lowest weight. I guess that is a constant concern and making me wonder if I should go back to CD and work down the plans properly this time. I found that part of CD difficult especially as it was in the run up to Xmas for me and I had 2 holidays along the way. So feel I made a pigs ear of it and after Xmas decided to 'give up' (there's that phrase again!) and move onto Gi.

Exercise is still going well. Still loving the gym and exercising loads. So diet is important I need the energy to keep up the exercise which I am not prepared to 'give up' :))) on.

So I have had a happy week away from my diary. I have caught up on life and got jobs done and routines back in place. Kept up with and loved the gym and aerobics classes. Given the boys memorable birthday's and parties. I haven't come to any real answers for 'dieting' of course I haven't, but not gone too crazy (well not all the time anyway).

Think I've put on another pound this week. My current weight is 12stone 3lb.

I'm going to plan strategies to see me through the next few days. If this weight continues to go up rather than down I will really feel like I have to re do the last stage of CD and then start again.

Ediets should email me today with advice will see what they come up with too.

Will be back later with update.

Thanks all!

I know what you mean about this site being an addiction, sometimes it just takes over, I try not to come on here too much on the weekend to give me some sort of break but then I spend all Monday morning catching up - can't win!

I think it's so hard to maintain/lose weight at this stage, I'm in the same boat as you, maintained steadily for ages and then it started to creep back up. I don't want to put all my weight back on again and I thought that would be motivation enough to lose it, but it's not that simple is it, I suppose I don't have the same motivation as when I was really heavy. But it should be easy to lose ½ stone, in reality though it's not. I am now counting my cals again, which I've resisted for so long as I felt like I was dieting again and I said I'd never diet again, but I've now accepted that in a way I'll always be on a diet to stay at my low weight and I need to monitor what I eat, cos it so easily gets out of hand.

With regards to the GI diet, I did the diet a few years ago, thought it was great because, like you say, the food is lovely and it's so healthy, plus I loved not being hungry. But for me, I found it very difficult to lose much weight on it and it didn't work as a weight loss regime, I was just eating too many cals. I found that my weight stayed steady and I always said that when I lose my weight (which was just a distant dream then) I'd use the GI to maintain, which is what I've been doing since last year. It's only the last 6 months that my weight's gone up and I know I've been eating more non-GI things, so I've only myself to blame. I know that many swear by the GI Diet and some people have tremendous success with it, but I think you have to be careful not to overeat on it - just my opinion of course.

Anyway, I hope you can work out what you need to do, you're exercising loads & eating well, so you must be in great shape and remember of course you will weigh more as you gain muscle.

Take care Dizzy - catch you later

Glad you're back Diz, i missed you too!:hug99:

Sounds like you've had a nice time with the boys. I think a break from the forums is a good thing, to get your head together. I've been on here more than usual as i am not well. Not at work today as still feelin yucky.

I have every confidence that you will get to goal again and stay there, good luck with the method you decide to do! I am not dieting whilst poorly.

xx

You still feeling rough Bex, what a pain. You're right I think not to worry about dieting when you're poorly, just need to look after yourself & get yourself better.

Take care, hope you're better soon

Thanks for the reply. Your story is helpful. I'm thinking that Gi is fab and you can eat a lot but have to be very strict and accurate about what you eat. I was for the first week and lost 5 or 6lbs, the next week I started getting more sloppy and have had problems since them. Putting on and on has been the consequence. Want to get to the gym soon as if I time it right I can swim after.

Cricky  better go defuzz if I'm thinking of braving the pool.

Look just found a give up smiley  could have done with that earlier.

Enjoy your swim Dizzy - lots of cals will be burnt off too :)

Gotta defuzz, adding all these cute smilies is lovely but makes posting even more time consuming.

Dizzy - have been reading through the last few posts you've made ... and not sure if this will help or not. I have quite a few clients now who are at target and have maintained for about 6months. ALL went up through the CD stages (790/100/1200/1500) and now 2 of them still come to me EVERY week for a WI and buy 10 CD products. They have a CD for breakfast and a CD for lunch Monday to Friday and a sensible 700 cal meal in the evening .... then at the weekend they forget about cals and CD and have as they please. Both have maintained for over 6months ... some weeks they'll lose a pound, others gain a pound - but most weeks stay the same. They know they are getting 2/3 of their daily vitamins/minerals as well. The others who went up through the plans come to me about once a month/6 weeks and have a WI and they all follow low Gi - but keep their calories about 1500 during the week and then forget about it at weekends.

I found losing my weight (4stone) easy the first time ... but like you did not go up through the plans at the end of it.This time round I WILL do it properly and go through the plans.

Good luck with whatever you find works for you - but thanks for being honest about it .... it helps us all to realise that losing the weight is only part of the equation .... keeping it off is the answer.

:thankyou: for the advice Flirty. Your maintainers sound like they are doing really well. The part CD maintenance does sound a good way to go until confidence with food is regained. It is such a simple plan too which will help to make it easy to stick too. One of the problems I have found has been getting used to the time it takes to plan, cook, eat healthy meals and ofcourse the clearing up as well. I now it doesn't need to take long but it does take a bit of getting used to after enjoying the ease of CD shakes and soups.

I do wish I had gone through the plans more successfully. One of my problems was actually lack of support from my CDC. don't want to criticise him on the forum as he is a nice man but he actively encouraged me to SS to goal and when I wanted to follow the advice I had on Minimins he wasn't supportive. I didn't have any further contact apart from buying packs which I did in large quantites to keep Mizzy and me going for long periods.

I do have packs left so could start to incorporate them. I think I would go back to CD and go through the steps to goal now but what is stopping me is the amount of exercise I am doing which I don't want to compromise on.

I will crack it. Not sure how. Not sure when. But I most certainly will!
