Go Donna, Go Donna, :party0011:Well done on the 3lb...

Hope your mum is better, let me know xxx

Thank you all so much for your caring messages, Mum is full of infection, she is a silly woman, went on hols, got ill in scotland, spent 3 days in hotel bed, finally drove home late on monday, spent tuesday in bed before finally seeking medical attention, our gp took one look and sent her straight to hospital. Sadly it will delay her chemo start date...we have all really told her (and stepdad to an extent) off, but i think this stay in hospital has finally made the penny drop!

Back to work today, feel exhausted, am gonna try and catch up with as many diaries as i can now, if i don't get round to you, apologies, will do asap

have fantastic weekends, donna x

I hope your mum is much better soon. I know how infections can be scary but it sounds like your mum is a fighter.
Try if you can to have a little you time aswell, can't be getting ill too x

thanks shell_y, i'm afraid your words of warning come a bit too late, have the sorest of throats, am bunged up and head killing, so i haven't visited Mum this evening, am trying to ignore paul and meg and fill my boots with minimins lol!

We are off for a family picnic tomorrow to celebrate my cousin's 30th birthday, will have fun but sad also cos mum will be missing!

Hope you are less hectic and feeling more relaxed, have great weekend, how did you find school run?

lots of love, donna x

aaw no, get lots of vit c into you and plenty of rest!
I hope you have a lovely picnic, afterwards go home and rest and get Paul to help out ;).
Yeah less hectic here thanks, off to a wedding tommorow though and have nothing much that fits where lost weight lol. So it will be a aaaah what do i wear morning lol.
I am loving the school run as it give me a purpose to walk again (3 mileish round trip twice a day) makes me feel great doing it.
Anyway you take care of you ok?! lol

You poor thing, and your poor mum, I'm sure she just didn't want to bother anyone, but hopefully she'll realise that with her condition she needs to look after herself. Sending lots of healing vibes your way :)

hope your mum is feeling better soon and they can get on with the chemo soon.

Ooh dear, I wonder if you can catch things through computers!! Computer virus?!:sigh:LOL!! I am in mid-cold! My sore throat started a few days ago, then went to my nasal passages! Very bunged up for 2 days!! Congestion starting to ease now- battled into work today:cry:and now coughing lots of stuff up! Hope yours passes quickly!

Sorry bout your Mum! I think people overdo things because they want to live life to the full and don't really think about the consequences! I hope she gets better quickly and that they can proceed with chemo soon! Bless her!!XXXXXX

it's the weather isn't freezing then boiling, typical that the day i go back to work, i look like a pig lol!

i really thought it was another pleural efusion but they took her down to drain lung today and there is only a small amount of fluid which doctor said he couldn't take it out with a syringe, so i guess that is good news. mum is now suffering with indigestion, that horrid reflux bile you get during pregnancy, so is on the hard stuff..gaviscon, the sickness just will not budge!

That does sound like pretty good news then if it hasn't built up to a large volume! Poor chicken! Is she not on something stronger like Omeprazole (Lozec) or Lanzoprazole (Zoton) for the reflux?X

to be honest they don;t quite seem to know what to do first, because there are so many different doctors involved in her case, apparently the reflux problem is cancer related, not sure about sickness tablet will ask tomorrow (if i am well enough to visit), i am worrying now its in her stomach...

The Lozec and Zoton are antacids to treat gastric reflux, although sounds like she should be on regular anti sickness meds too! Maybe it's pressure of lung area pressing on abdomen and causing reflux?X

Sorry to read about your Mum Donna and also that you're not well. My Dad isn't good this week either although he says he is. I swear by a few drops of tea tree oil in some water for gargling with when you have a sore throat. I do it every half hour or so and it really does work. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}

hey honey, sorry to hear about your mum again.. my dad's just gone into hospital too a few hours ago, waiting on bloods.. he was coughing and bringing up icky stuff all day, called the gp out who prescribed antibiotics and then he threw up about an hour after taking them, so sent him off to the hospital.

definitely an acquired taste but if your mum doesn't mind liquorice, get some soft ones and try and get her to have one or two a day, it keeps your mouth busy, saliva coming, and helps to settle the chest a bit or so my dad has found. other than that, can't really suggest much, but big hugs for you both xxx
