Oh Crikey!!! How are they now???
My dad has been insulin dependant for about 20 years and my mum is managing hers on tablets at the mo

He's fine now thank you love, it happens quite regularly i'm afraid tho he's been ok the past couple of months. Dr changed his medication which is what caused this one, he's insulin dependant too. Last year i had to have an ambulance out to him 3 times as i just couldn't bring him round... Very scary :-(

It usually happens in the early hrs, 3 hrs after he's had his long term insulin just before bed. So you have to go from being fast asleep and dreaming to wide awake and fully responsible for his health, well for his life actually! He hasn't got a clue what he's doing when he's hypoing and thinks you're trying to kill him ( paranoia is common apparently) so you HAVE to get the gel into his mouth and get him to swallow it and often he grabs my wrists and starts fighting with me because he doesn't even know who i am at the time. He started fitting this morning too, it's such a horrible disease, it's already ruined his beautiful brown eyes, he has to have regular laser treatment for retinopathy and he's lost most of the sensation in his lower legs and feet.

That is a bummer, i had that for yrs too so now how it feels :-(

DYJHIW you've cooked OH's tea, then cooked yourself a seperate tea, ate it all up and are now collapsed on the settee, full as a very full thing, and there is a MOUNTAIN of washing up to do :-(

Hi Louise - The Naproxen im taking are anti inflammatorys a bit stronger than ibuprofen - ive had to take codeine tonight to see if they help.

naproxyn are really good pain relief actually, better than codeine, i use them for my migraines xxxxx
