Down with Spanx!

Thanks Girlies! x

Gail - I may well swap to Sunday, partly because it gives me time to get over my Friday nights and partly to keep me on track on a Saturday. We do both seem to be night owls don't we!

Kellie - thank you for your lovely comments. I don't feel inspiring, but I do feel proud of myself! Keep up the good work hun x

Sweet - you're doing so well yourself, I'm sure you will know how it feels to reach target sooner rather than later!

Well, I had a STS on Saturday, probably due to the Friday blow out and maybe last weekend catching up with me. Still, it wasn't a gain!

It does mean however, that I need to lose 2lb this week and 2lb next week if I'm to get to my target of 4st lost by April 16th. So, I think I might try to cut the carbs right down this week and up the exercise.

I really need to get my running back on track now that the lighter nights are here. I've been doing my zumba dvd and using my vibration toner, so at least I've been doing something, but now it's lighter in the evenings there's no reason why I can't go out for a run and my son can cycle along beside me... watch this space for a C25K progress update!

Had a pretty good Saturday, but went well over syns today, courtesy of a son who bought me chocolates for Mothers Day and a mother who made my favourite cake. Of course, they didn't force me to indulge, but indulge I did...!

Saturday: EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, mixed fruit
Lunch: Chicken breast, banana, alpen light (3 syns) (odd mix - was in a rush and grabbed something to take to the football!)
Dinner: Mushy pea curry with extra veg, oven chips (5 syns)

Total syns for day: 8

Sunday: EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, mixed fruit
Lunch: Thai starters (8 syns), chicken breast, baked potato, salad, 1 tbsp low-fat coleslaw (2 syns?), small slice cake (8 syns), 2.5 black magic chocs (6 syns)

Dinner: Pasta, spag bol with extra veg, cheese (HEA)

Total syns for day: 24

Week so far: 32

Hi Spanx,

Yes, we're usually on at the same time ! Well done on the STS. And now, having had cakes (and I really can't criticise after my hot cross buns fiasco !) back on plan. I'm sure that you can achieve 2lb this week, which is what I might be aiming for too. Hopefully you'll do better on the exercise front than me (I just can't find the time anywhere !) which will help.

Hope you have a good week. I'm sure I'll catch up with you later in the week around 11pm-12am !!!

Gail x

Thanks Gail! Let's put our cake/buns fiasco behind us and get cracking on that 2lb target this week! x

I have decided that I'm finally brave enough to put some photos on my profile now that I can finally start to see how far I've come! :D

Evening all! A reasonably good day today, although I missed lunch due to a meeting, so had to lunch on bananas and an emergency Alpen Light bar!

Total syns for day: 13

Week so far: 45

Also did another 20 mins on my vibration plate and a 20 mins Zumba DVD, so a big tick in the exercise box! :D

Yay. Well done Spanx. Glad to see you had a good day too. I'm off to bed (early for me I know !) so catch you during the week. Are you leaning towards a Sunday weigh in yet ?????

Gail x

Yes Gail - think I am going to swap to Sundays - after all, a change is as good as a rest, or so my Granny used to say (was never quite sure what it meant!!!)

Have a good early night...! x

Thanks.

Come and join us on the Sunday weighers thread then. You will be made very welcome :)

Gail x

Hi Spanx,

I have been preparing the ground for your arrival on the Sunday weighers thread this week :p. Tonight's dinner looks delicious - yum yum.

Gail x

I have managed to really up the exercise this week. I've been out running twice, done my Zumba DVD twice and used my vibration plate 3 times! Yay me!

Hoping for a good result this week, on my new Wi day of Sunday. I've been pretty good all week with regards to food, so keep your fingers crossed...

I'm watching 'Dead Fat' on I Player as I type. It's another documentary about obesity (there seem to be loads on at the moment!), but as part of it, they show you the autopsy of an obese woman.

Seriously, if you want to see something to shock you into never giving up until you reach your target, watch it. The amount of fat inside this woman was incredible, but what was worse was the impact the fat was having on her organs. Her heart and kidney etc were surrounded by fat, literally coated in it, and her lungs were squashed up really small, because the fat had pushed them up towards her heart. And the fat itself, it's disgusting - bright orangey yellow - looks a bit like dayglo blancmange.

It's not for the faint-hearted, but it's really powerful stuff... There is no way I'm giving up any time soon!

Thursday: EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, blueberries and strawberries
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA), apple, mixed fruit
Dinner: Chicken, McCains rustics (3 syns), large salad
Snack: Shape yoghurt

Total syns: 3

Friday: EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, blueberries and strawberries
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, large salad
Dinner: Turkey breast, pasta, pesto (3 syns), mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, leeks, spring onion, cheese (HEA)
Snack: KitKat (5.5 syns)

Total syns: 8.5

Week so far: 64.5

I was starving all day today, no idea why, so ended up having too many carbs for a lower-carb week!

Saturday: EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, blueberries and strawberries
Lunch: Leftover pasta, pesto, turkey, mushrooms, leeks, spring onions, cherry tomatoes (3 syns)
Dinner: McCains rustics (3 syns), turkey, salad

Total syns: 6

Total syns for 8 day week (changing WI day): 70.5

WI in the morning and I think I deserve a good result - fingers crossed! :)

Woohoo! 2.5lbs off for me this morning! :p

Really pleased with that and it leaves me needing 1.5lbs next week to make my target for getting into the 12s and getting my 4st shiny!

Amazing stuff Spanx! :bliss:

Must feel great being so close to your 4st marker!!

Keep it up ;)
xx

How exciting. I am really pleased for you Spanx :)

Fingers crossed for next week. Hope you found the Sunday weighers a friendly bunch. See you back there next week :D

Gail x

Thanks Honda and Gail and well done to both for your recent losses and new shinys! :D

I've been on cloud 9 all day, after that good result! Went out for a bike ride with my son - he's just passed his cycling proficiency, so I took him out on the quiet roads nearby to get some road practice, then we went off roading in the woods. Now normally I'm the one saying 'Is it time to go home yet?!', but today I was still going strong when he decided he'd had enough! :D

Sunday: EE
Brunch: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, blueberries and strawberries
Snack: Apple
Dinner: Chicken breast, few McCain's rustics (2 syns), green beans and mushrooms, BBQ sauce (1 syn)

Bit peckish now, so might have a yoghurt and a KitKat in a minute...just reminding myself in case I need to update my syns tomorrow!

ETA: Ended up having an Alpen light, so that's another 3 syns to add!

Total syns for day: 6

Fantastic loss Spanx!!! Well done

Thanks Sweet and Surreygal - hope you are both having an excellent week!

Don't you just love mens' reactions to your weight loss?! I went out for dinner tonight with some ex-colleagues, 1 of whom I hadn't seen for about 6 months, 1 I hadn't seen for a year. As I walked into the restaurant, they both did a double take - and then commented, in rather embarrassed tones, about how 'well' I looked! Awwww, sweet! :D

I had a great NSV today as well. Bought a pair of boots in the winter sale, as they are lovely and a real bargain - £30 instead of £120. Only problem was I couldn't get them done up all the way to the knee, but as I usually wear boots under trousers, I didn't think it would matter too much. Anyway, I got them out today and managed to get the zip up all the way! OK, so I did have marks on my calves when I took them off tonight, but still - yay me! :p

So, as I mentioned, I was out for dinner tonight, but we went to a 'healthy' indian restaurant, ie there were loads of dishes on the menu with no oil/ghee and where there was cream or butter in a dish, it was clearly marked. So I think I did pretty well syns-wise.

Monday: EE
Brekkie: All-bran (HEB), mullerlight, blueberries and strawberries
Lunch: Chicken breast, innocent thai veg pot (4.5 syns)
Dinner: 1 poppadom with onion dip (4 syns), lamb starter in tomato and rosemary sauce (3 syns - complete guess, but think it was low!), chicken with cumin and chilli (6 syns - again a guess, but it was a fusion dish, a bit like a wagamamas ramen, with a clear broth, so I think it was pretty low!), lemon and chickpea boiled rice

So, all in all a pretty good meal out!

Total syns for day: 17ish!

Oh dear - my week has gone slightly off-plan! Ended up spending two days in London having meetings over lunches and dinners... Tried to be good, and didn't do too badly on the food I ate, but didn't eat much, as there weren't many healthy choices.

Don't know about you, but for me, if I don't eat enough, I don't lose anything... On the plus side, I had my first ever red day! (I'll probably still class it as an EE, but it could have been red...)

Tuesday: Green
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, mixed fruit
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA)
Dinner: Pasta, sweet chilli philly light (HEB), peas, mushrooms, green beans
Snack: KitKat (5.5 syns)

Total syns 5.5

Wednesday:
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, mixed fruit
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, babybel (HEA)
Dinner: Tapas - hummus, flatbread, meatballs, chicken souvlaki (HEB) - not too bad synswise, apart from the flatbread I think, going to count 15 syns

Total syns: 15

Thursday:EE
Brekkie: Allbran (HEB), mullerlight, mixed fruit
Snack: Apple
Lunch: (Nouvelle cuisine = small portions!) Crab salad, steamed sea bass, veg puree made with asparagus, broccoli, peas. Petits Fours (I had 3 , they were very small - going to count 3 syns each one)
Dinner: Chicken, salad, small baked potato
Snack: Mullerlight, KitKat (5.5 syns), apple

Total syns 14.5

Week so far: 58
