Down with Spanx!

Hi Val, thanks for your support. Yes, it's really annoying1 I know we all have weeks where we don't think we've had a good week and lost, but it's just so frustrating to hear others losing when they freely admit that they don't 'deserve' it. I need to take a leaf out of your book and see the bigger picture - will look back over the month and see that as a positive (hopefully - depending on next week's WI!)

Have a great weekend xx

Hiya hun! I'm sorry to hear about your gain this week. Although I'm sure you'll soon have kicked that pound into touch :) As women we all know it's better to look at our weight loss over the months...I'm sure if you do that it'll soon show up that you're doing really well since you've been back :) xx

Thanks Sian - I know you're right and I'm soldiering on - just impatient to get some results!

Didn't end up going out for a curry, but had an absolutely delicious dinner tonight - and it felt really naughty, all for just one HEA!

Made some chilli, but replaced the kidney beans with loads of roasted veggies left over from last night, to up the superfree content. Served it with spicy potato chips topped with cheese and jalapenos - felt like a really naughty mexican feast!

Link to recipe for cheesy, spicy potatoes here: http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/306385-omg-look-what-i-found.html

Also managed both HEs and 9.5 syns...

Yes, the one I had was a Coconut one - quite nice, but not a patch on Orange!

I've got one of each of the new flavours in the cupboard - I'm sure I can hear them calling my name!! :p

Well, I managed to resist the lure of the KitKat - settled for some Dime Mikados instead! It had to be a choccy night, as I had a night on the sofa and finally caught up with the end of Homeland Season 2...

We've woken up to a slight covering of snow again this morning - grrrr! I have to drive to London tomorrow and York on Thursday, so hope it disappears by then, as I hate driving in bad conditions.

Didn't do quite so well on operation HEs and syns today, but not too bad!

Monday: EE
B: Melon, blueberries, mullerlight
L: Leftover potato wedges, chilli with roasted veg and cheese (half HEA), green and red cabbage, green beans
D: Chicken, mushroom, spinach, potato curry made with onions, passata and a Schwartz slow cooker curry pack (total 4.5 syns, 3 portions made, so 1.5 syns per portion)
S: Hifi Light (half HEB), Mikado x 10 (5 syns)

Syns today: 6.5

Hi Val, have a lovely time! Your plan sounds very sensible - better to take a break than overindulge while you're supposed to be on plan and then feel guilty!

Well, operation HEs and Syns has worked - 2lbs off this week - in six days, as had to go to group this morning instead of tomorrow. Very relieved!

Had a manic week and it's only getting busier - off to York for work for a couple of days (hotel food and a buffet), then family party, two girls' nights out and pancake day will make this a challenging week! Determined to get at least a STS though...

Will catch up on my food diary later, as in a rush now...

Didn't have a great start to my new week. Sadly, I had to go to a funeral on Friday, which meant a night in a B&B beforehand and lots of emotional eating with friends. Then I managed to go out for the whole day on Saturday to a do with a buffet and left my syn-free, home made lunch on the kitchen counter - grr!

Still, I drew a line under it and started afresh on Sunday - although in a change for me, I haven't cut back on the syns since, which I would normally do, so we'll see how I get on at WI!

Can't remember all the food since last Thursday, so I'll just note down yesterday and today's:

Sunday: EE
Brekkie: Lean bacon, sauteed potatoes (frylight), tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, brown sauce (1 syn)
Dinner: Chilli, with passata, extra lean mince, onions, kidney beans, mushrooms, potatoes and cheese (HEA)
Snacks: Apple, 2 x hifi light (HEB), kitkat (5.5 syns)

Syns today: 6.5

Monday: EE
Breakfast: Apple, berries, activia 0%
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA), banana, bbq sauce (1 syn)
Dinner: As last night!
Snacks: Mugshot, banana, 2x hifi light (HEB), kitkat (5.5 syns)

Syns today: 6.5

I really need to get off my backside and get some exercise done! This cold weather and the ice/snow on the roads don't really fill me with enthusiasm, so the dogs have been suffering from shorter walks and I'm not getting my requisite number of steps in!

Tues: EE
Brekkie: Banana, activia 0% yoghurt, hifi light (half HEB)
Lunch: Baked potato, beans, cheese (HEA) BBQ sauce (1 syn), tangerine
Dinner: Chicken and mushroom curry (syn free) with boiled rice and spicy potato wedges
Snacks: Alpen light (half HEB), KitKat (5.5 syns)

Syns today: 6.5
Week from Sunday: 19.5

Had one of the new Lemon Drizzle Alpen lights today - mmmmmmmmmmm!

Another good day on plan, although I think I will be lucky to scrape a STS this week, after last Friday and Saturday, which included a curry, lots of cake and a McDonald's (and I never eat McD's, but was stuck at a service station for 2 hours due to an accident on the motorway, bored and emotionally exhausted...emotional comfort eating at its finest!!)

Wednesday:
B: Pineapple, blueberries, apple, mullerlight
L: Left over chicken and mushroom curry, boiled rice
D: Pasta, chicken, courgettes, leeks, mushrooms, tomatoes, parmesan (HEA)
S: 2 hifi light (HEB), mullerlight with cherry layer (2 syns), kitKat (5.5 syns)

Syns today: 7.5
Week from sunday: 27

Thursday: EE
B: Pineapple, blueberries, mullerlight
L: Pasta, leeks, mushrooms, tomatoes, courgettes, chicken
D: Yellow thai curry made with Kara coconut milk (HEA), yellow curry paste (6 syns for whole meal, had about 1/3, so 2 syns), chicken, onions and mushrooms, boiled rice. Pudding - chocolate 'mousse' made with quark, ff yoghurt and an options sachet (had half, so 1 syn), with orange segments and 4 sticks of orange matchmakers (4 syns)
S: 2 x hifi light (HEB), apple

Syns today: 7
Week from Sunday: 34

So my weekend of emotional comfort eating did take its toll and I weighed-in with a STS this morning.

Got two nights out next week, so need to have a good week apart from that to try and get a loss next week. Monday night I'm having a girly night at a friend's house - not sure if we're having takeaway or if she's cooking, but either way there will definitely be syns! Then on Thursday, night before WI, I'm going out for curry with another friend - although I've already told her that I'm not drinking and that I'm doing Slimming World, so that should limit the damage there!

Had a good day today, despite my disappointment at WI!

Tried the 'bloody mary burgers' with wedges, coleslaw and salsa for tea from the latest mag - delicious! The salsa was fab - and loaded with superfree - tomatoes and spring onion, with coriander and lime juice. Going to make it to go with everything from now on!

Friday: EE
B: Apple, banana, activia 0%, lemon alpen light bar (half HEB)
L: Less than 1% fat supernoodles (not great, but too late for a proper lunch)
D: Bloody mary burgers, wedges, coleslaw and salsa (2 syns for whole meal, largely due to extra light mayo in coleslaw - it said 1 syn in the mag, but I did have quite a lot of the coleslaw!)
S: Hifi light (half HEB), Kitkat (5.5 syns), orange mullerlight

Oh, I also tried the Equator 0 calorie, 0 alcohol 'beer' - not great, but made a change from diet coke at dinner time!

Another good day - feeling really positive this week. I've not lost anything off my stomach as yet, but my jeans were a bit looser today and I've definitely lost some off my face, so that's keeping me upbeat.

Made the Peking Lemon Sauce from the Little book of sauces tonight - absolutely delicious. So if you like chicken in lemon sauce from the Chinese, I highly recommend it. Served it with chicken and rice and a big serving of stir fry veg done in soy sauce and chilli. Felt really naughty and all for 1.5 syns.

Saturday: EE
Brunch: Lean bacon, 2 grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, poached egg, brown sauce (1syn)
Snack: Hifi light (half HEB) and banana
Dinner: Chicken in lemon sauce (1.5 syns), boiled jasmine rice, stir fry veg (baby sweetcorn, mangetout, mushrooms, broccoli, spring onions)
Snack: Hifi light (half HEB), orange mullerlight, 175ml red wine (6 syns)

Syns today: 8.5
Week so far: 16
