Down with Spanx!

Whoop! 1.5lbs off today - 2lbs to go for my official 1st (although already over 1st based on my own first WI, which was a week before I rejoined group!) Really pleased with that, but there are 4 or 5 of us who all have 1.5-2lbs to go for our next stone award, so the challenge is on between us to do that this week.

Might try a couple of success express days, some scanbran cake and superspeed soup - determined to get that award next week!

Brrr! Bloomin cold today! My son and OH brought me coffee, flowers and a Terry's Chocolate Orange in bed (2.5 syns a segment? must check!) and, even though it was snowing and windy, I got up and took the dogs on their morning social walk with the doggy group. So a brisk 2 mile walk around a freezing cold reservoir, followed by a slice of weetabix cake and hot coffee!

Went to my mum's for lunch and she'd done a SW-friendly meal, apart from 2oz of butter in the curried rice (18 syns!!!!), which served 4, so that's 4.5 syns there. even had fruit and yoghurt for pudding, while everyone else tucked into fruit strudel and custard -
:angel09:

Tonight we are having a SW Chinese feast! Sweet and sour chicken and egg-fried rice from the new Asian Cooking book and mushroom and pak choi stir fry from the All-in-one book - can't wait!!

Well, most of the Chinese was delicious - but the egg fried rice was a disaster, so we quickly cooked some noodles instead!

Lol - Sian, the recipe said to put some beansprouts in, presumably to pad out with some superfree - but they didn't cook at all and just tasted absolutely rank! I've never had a successful SW-style egg fried rice, so I'm giving up now and will just stick to boiled! Sweet and sour was gorgeous though - best one I've ever done, even my son, the takeaway addict, pronounced it delicious!

Hope your week is going well xxx

The sweet and sour sounds fab...is that from a new cook book? I wonder whether the recipe would be in the Around the World cookbook I've got by slimming world. I shall have to root it out :) It's a shame about the egg fried rice though. Sometimes the added superfree just doesn't go with the dish I find xx

Yes, it was from the new Asian Cooking book - which is absolutely fab and my definite new best SW cookbook! Only £4.95 and well worth it I think, ir you like chinese, japanese and thai etc.

Probably not too different from the Around the World one though (I think I've got that book somewhere too, will root it out and compare!)

Spanx,
I'm getting ready for another epic read!
Here goes!:coffee:
See you in a couple of days xx

Good luck! Here are the highlights - huge, lost slowly, hit target very briefly, put 3st back on - doh! :D x

Begging your pardon, it's World of Flavours, I wasn't far off, lol! They seem to be re-publishing a lot of their old books, or they're very similar anyway. I seem to have so many of the books I don't know what to do with them, lol! xx

I've definitely got that one somewhere - can't spot it at the moment though. It was different from the ones I've done before, because it actually used cornflour to thicken the sauce a bit and some orange juice - along with the normal soy sauce and vinegar etc. Then you put the pineapple in right at the end, so it didn't cook at all, so you didn't have to syn it1 Made a huge bowlful, four generous portions, for 6 syns for the whole lot!

I'm having a reasonable week, although I don't feel well, so I've been craving comfort foods... Haven't fallen off the wagon though, which is something to be proud of! My friend has suggested I go and get a blood test at the doctors, as she seems to think I might have anaemia, or a thyroid problem, whereas I thought it was just a bug I couldn't shift. Seem to be achey all the time, with headaches, an upset stomach and just sooooo tired all the time, so maybe I will go and get myself checked out.

Sunday: EE

S: Hifi bar (HEB), KitKat (5.5 syns)
