Dreamaholic's diary - 20 pounds to go!

Right, total motivation time!! I want to lose weight for Xmas so I don't look hideous in all the photos and so I can ask for new clothes for my prezzies, and you want to lose weight for you hol. We can do this!! Just keep keep reminding yourself of that holiday whenever you feel down or tempted to eat something naughty. Its not that far off, but if we stick to plan we can make a real difference in time :D

Weighed myself with wii-fit this morning, dropped 0.3kg which is like 0.7 pounds since Tuesday. Hurray.

Some other people here seem to be losing 2 pounds a week consistently, while I'm only losing 2 pounds a month. I find my progress extremely slow, I wonder if I'm doing this correctly... coz I've cut down on crisps and wine... and cakes and biscuits (apart from the odd ones which I syn) that should make more difference than 2 pounds a month, right....?

Anyway... I am 7 pounds lighter. And I hope to get even lighter. Apart from the holiday in December... my sister got engaged last weekend and will get married probably in 2012! Another goal for me to work towards!

ok... have decided to do monthly photos.

not a pretty sight...:( which is why I'm trying to lose weight! (am not doing this for fun, am I? lol)

Well done for uploading the photos hun! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with them, you look great. I think its really great to be able to look and see your progress as you go. Looking in the mirror at yourself doesn't really work as you cant really compare properly. :)

quicky flicky through all diaries i am subscribed to (well, the first couple of pages anyway! not enough time to do this properly before xfactor starts!)

if you want, if you would like to, please join in the october flabfighters challenge! i know some of you have done it already and it's been lovely talking to you on the thread! anyone else who wants to join up for a teeny bit of extra support, please feel free :) link below, just pick a colour, add your name and the amount you wish to lose, and update weekly with any changes! good luck to everyone, and hope you're having a brilliant weekend :)

weigh-in tomorrow... was going to go to an evening one. there's one at 5.30pm but I've got a treatment booked at 6pm... there's another one at 7.30pm - it feels very late as that'd mean I probably won't be home till 9pm if I stay for the group chat after the weighing? am thinking if I can be bothered... or shall I just go to the usual lunch time pop in one (which honestly does not add any value)

hmmmmmm

maybe I'll see if there's any other one on another day that's earlier than 7.30pm...

weighed myself using wii fit this morning, lost 1kg since last week. fingers crossed the scale at the WI says the same thing.

wii fit assumes I have 1kg of clothing, and it says I'm 70.3kg, which is 154.5 pounds. If I add back on the 1kg it subtracted, I'd weigh 157 pounds. according to the WI scale last week, I'm 159.5 pounds. so it's sort of tying up? (159.5 pounds - 2.2 pounds = 157.3 pounds)

Thanks 10st10lbs for the info.

Just went to the lunch time pop in group as won't be able to try an evening group tonight (stupid tube strike in London) lost half a pound only. Experience today convinced me I don't want to pay a fiver each week to get weighed.

Well done on the loss hun. Maybe you should give it a go 'going it alone' and see how you get on. £5 does seem a lot. Unless you can find a good evening class that you could give a go without too much trouble getting there and back. :)

Yeah I'm probably going to do it without going to group. I posted last night to see if theres any Londoner on minimins who'd recommend a proper sw group to me but have heard nothing. The ones I found on the sw websites aren't easy to get to from work / from home so I can't see me spending hours trying to get there in the winter. I might as well spend that time at a gym. Will see how it goes and will make myself weigh every week and will pop on to minimins to get group support :) honestly I get more support here than going to the group!

Go for it hun, absolutely no harm in giving it a go, you might even start to lose more weight on you own!

let's see how it goes next week!

I've decided to take the wii-fit reading this morning as my WI this week, because
1) it ties up with the reading last week (159.5-2.2 pounds = 157.3 pounds = 71.5kg, and it said 71.3kg this morning, so it's tying up give or take 0.2kg)
2) it will make life easier going forward given I'll weigh using wii-fit
3) it says I've lost 1 kg (2 pounds) instead of 0.5 pounds according to the SW scale.

so... hurray, I've lost 2 pounds!! :D

food diary for today

4/10 (Monday)

Breakfast: 42g all-bran and milk (HeA and HeB)
snack: fresh pineapple cubes, 1 choc truffle (3.5 syns), 1/4 mince pie hi-fi bar (WI group was doing some taster today, 1.5 syn?)
lunch: pasta with tuna, prawns. mushroom and whole packet of salad leaves
snack: banana, fat free yogurt
dinner: pasta noodle soup with lean ham, peas and fried egg, brocolli and carrots as sides
dessert: homemade orange jelly, 225ml orange juice for 5 servings so it's 45ml for each serving. 142ml freshly squeezed orange juice = 2.5 syns so 45g is roughly 1 syn (it's like a maths test!)

total syns: 6

was soooo tempted to buy a packet of crisps (kettle chips) but didn't. may do that tomorrow. am really craving it.

Forgot to say, I had a really really really good facial at an Elemis spa today!! (that's my evening appointment and that's why I couldn't go to try out an evening WI group tonight) They're doing a special offer at John Lewis so it's buy one get one free for the half-hour booster facial! (45 quid each at full price)

It was so GOOD! while I was having the facial treatment, I was sitting on a massage chair, v.relaxing. And apart from the facial treatment, there's some hot stone therapy. the therapist said, you're very light (!!!) hence the chairs move you alot (and hence she dropped some stones placed on me on the floor!) that was probably my first compliment of being light for a good while haha.

the 5 quid per week that I'm gonna save by not going to SW group is contributing to my Elemis facial fund :)

Colleagues came back from holiday with lots of chocolate, and I have very little will power today. Had 7 squares of choc. 100g is 530 kcal, there are probably 3 x 6 squares in that pack, so that's around 200 kcal of choc, 10 syns? They are very lovely though! (proper Swiss chocolate that's hard to say no to)
