I hadn't realised you were that close to tw! Amazing achievement! As I remember it took me forever to shift the last few pounds - I certainly remember it did Sid - but when the weight does start dropping again it doesn't necessarily stop at tw. I should stick with the Dr's target and switch to conso, and you never know... X

Arrrggg just lost it all. Have typed answer once.

Thing is its not the last few pounds, when I first started Dukan I said I wanted to lose 5st because the thought of more was too scary. True weight calculator, I put 13st as my target, Dr D said 12st 13lb was my true weight. Once I realised diet was working and I could actually achieve a healthy weight I reset my target to 11st 7lb. Dr D site said 12st 8lb (a stone heavier).

I don't think its unreasonable to want to be 11st 7lb, its ideal for my height and I think will make me look better. I still have a podge and am not happy to settle for 12st 13lb. i don't want to be 12stone anything.

I redid the questions and calculator recently because I wanted to know how long he thought it would take to get to tw. so I could then work out the weeks from when i started to possible target date, it changed my tw again to 11st 11lb, another change for the same answers. If you play around with the questions you can actually get it to read anything, which kind of cheats the whole point of the true weight calculator.

I'm going to keep going and aim for as low as I can go. I really want to be 11st something. The first diet I ever did I had a target of 11st 3lb. I realise that it was along time ago and bodies and systems change so I know its not a target I can go for really.


Anywhooo, got weighed this morning and had a loss. One of the things i realised, esp after reading the plateau informatoin, is that recently I have been feeling hungry, the meals I have don't keep my full for very long, and my portion sizes are no different now than they used to be. I ate more today at teatime, actually had two seperate meat dishes, one of which I could eat for every meal, oh boy it was soooo nice. Sticky Chinese Chicken. Grilled so it has a crispy coating.

I made a lemon cheesecake tonight with cottage cheese and had that for my supper, well half of it. Other half is for tomorrow.


Right gonna have a nosey about and then earlier night, I really do need to get more sleep LOL.
 
Another loss this morning, not saying what or how much just yet cos I have a feeling that by the time Monday comes round it won't read the same LOL. I don't know if my body has worked it out now, or if the carb blip helped. Fingers crossed on any count :D

Made some turkey mince sausaged today, used chinese spice mix, didn't quite work out as I expected, but still got 16 turkey goujons out of the pack LOL. Nice as a finger dip. Might be good for you Siddy Sue, for a Freddie Friday. I just mixed onion and spices and then took spoonfuls and manipulated in my hands to make sausage shapes. Cooked half in halogen for 20m on 175 turning once. They didn't all fit in so the other 8 cooked in electric grill. Took about half the time cooking them.

The sad thing Sue is that i don't remember what I felt or looked like at 11 something. What I do remember is my weight adviser telling me i should have gone down clothes sizes yet I hadn't done. I'm sure I'm in a size lower now than I was then. I seem to have had this image of a fatty in my head for so long I can't get an image of a thinner me. I am still not happy with my shape as it is. My belly is still a bit apron like and I would like it to be a bit flatter than it is.

I do admit to being so much happier at this weight, i feel better, have more energy (most of the time) and the comments I get from people makes me happy LOL. I would like my thighs to be thinner, very chunky at the top, and my bingo wings are horrid. I am doing toning exercises in the hope that will help.

I will keep following the diet until such time as I really don't lose anymore at all, and then move to conso. eek that sounds scary just saying it LOL
 
Oh Karin I know this battles inside out and there is no easy answer - I think everyone is right though - the weight you are shouldn't be a defining point - the way you feel about yourself and how you feel you look should decide for you!!! Hard one though as we are all conditioned to be ruled by the numbers!!! LOL! x

thats the truth of it isn't it. We see numbers on the scales and numbers on the clothes.

I don't really care what I am supposed to weigh accoding to site A B C although I do look, because its curiosity. I want to be happy with my shape when I look in the mirror. At the moment I'm not 100%....I would say I am 75% which is a heck of a long way from 0% last June. I used to have lovely legs, I always thought they were my best feature, but they still look chunky.

I would like to think that I could be fully in the size clothes I can only just squeeze in to, I bought those 16 jeans and 14 top. But they were one offs in Matalan. I don't want to be at a mid point, nothing worse than having to wear belts cos its just a bit to big on one size, but the other gives me muffin top LOL. I worked it out that 1½stone is approx one dress size for me. So I need to lose the next stone to be in that size, to be able to go in any shop and buy the 16/14s LOL.

Weighed this morning and it was a gain, new it would be. Could have been the custard (though I only used ½ tablespoon so thats ½ tolerated) or the late eating of my oatbran. Forgot my bread at lunchtime so I made Mug Cake with the custard. And for the first time in a week I had crabsticks for my supper. So for me there are three reasons why I gained this morning........but it didn't faze me, I could already feel that difference in me. I quite often feel it in my gut, as it were, that I have or haven't gained. Its always a light or heavy feeling. Hope that makes sense.

Got meat sandwich for lunch, and meatloaf for tea. Cottage cheese on a side i think with it. Maybe a sweet omlette for pudding if hungry.

I think aiming for a size 16 or 14 is a great goal - usually most people at those sizes look great unless they are very short and you are definately not!!! Hope official weigh in shows a loss for you lovely!!! Hard to keep those tolerated items down sometimes isn't it? Well I find it hard anyway!!! LOL! x

Definately hard T, I have been noting down again what tolerateds I have been having, for the most part it ends up being soy sauce or hot chocolate. The last two days though I have used cornflour and custard powder (both thickening agents)...gained both days. I should know better though as cornflour has done that to me on a couple of occasions before. So today I have not had any tolerateds at all. I've also been drinking sprite zero the last two days and I think that might have helped the gain. I have now given the rest of the bottle to my daughter and gone back to my coke LOL.

Good news today, our DD has received the notification of which High School she is going to in September, and we got our first choice. Its a great school, and will help her in maths and computers, a must in todays world. She is very clever, studying and revising to do Level 6 SATS, and i don't mean yr6. She is already a 5b across the board and so they are hoping to put her in for L6. The high school is a girls school as well so will help her to stay focused.

Yes it was very fraught, I'm a very emotional person, I cry at book endings LOL, when I got a text from one of DD best friends that said they had got into that school, yet we still hadn't heard, I was nearly crying. So daft, but thankfully its over, for now. First day nerves yet to happen and its months away.

Sid and T, tolerateds, I too had stopped counting them, I didn't use loads, but hot choc drink each night, soy sauce when needed, goji berries and then cornflour in certain sauces etc., it all adds up. I didn't have any Tols yesterday at all, lost ¾lb this morning. Had only had a tbls of soy today, which doesn't seem to be a bad one for me.

I've decided that if I have to use cornflour or custard I am only going to use them once a week, either as a custard with mug cake, or in the BBQ sauce with meatloaf.

There aren't other tolerateds that i use really, Goji berries have only just come back on the shelves in Asda, I don't use rhubarb on PP days, so its not something that will be difficult to leave off the menu.

A good dukan day today

Bf Hearty breakfast porridge which is made with the brans/egg/milk/sweeetner. very yummy
Ln Deviled Eggs and Cottage cheese / Jelly n Yogurt.
Te Chinese Chicken (Soy) / sweet omlettes
Su Boiled Eggs and Herbal tea.

Had minimumf drinks today, 1.5ltrs though I will try to drink some water before bed just to up it a bit.

I hate monday mornings...........in all the weeks I have been on this diet, only a handful of Mondays have been losses, for some strange reason they are always gains. And so again this morning.

A gain of ¼lb on yesterdays weigh in, but a loss of 1 lb for the whole week.

My tolerateds yesterday 1 tbspn of Soy Sauce. Not been a problem throughout the week when I've used it, BUT.....I didn't drink as much yesterday, only the minimum needed instead of 2ltrs which i normally drink these days.

Also eggs, hmmm I had eggs for nearly all meals yesterday in one form or other, be it devilled, fried or boiled. I worked it out I had 9 eggs yesterday. In the week the most I had was 7, and average 6 a day. I think I need to re-evalute how many i eat LOL.

Been for a walk this morning. Did 2648 steps which was .75 miles in 22 mins. I used my old WW pedometer which measured it all. I am going to use the same route all week with the same songs. I live on what could be a huge rectangle, with a fork shape of streets at the lower end, so I can walk back home a few different ways each one being a different length of route, so I am going to increase slowly, week by week, the amount I walk. I plan to do the walk before lunch so I'm exercising on an empty stomach. Which is the best way obviously.

Dukan food today:

Bf Porridge with milk and yogurt...usual
Ln Dukan bread with beef and a cup of homemade veg soup / cottage sweet pie
Te Chicken livers flavoured!! in half peppers / jelly n yogurt.
Su Crabsticks if hungry

Fluids so far 5 drinks = 1250ml planned at least another water and coke taking me to 1750ml.

A pound is a pound is a pound Karin!!! Well done sweetie! Menu sounds grand - not ever eaten quite so many eggs so not sure how it affects weight!!! Your menus always look good to me - I believe your body has slowed down the weight loss as you are close to your body's natural tw!!! Keep going love - it will be worth it! x
