Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

Slept in this morning so am running a bit late. Got lots to do to prepare for the weekend.

PV day today (looks like it's going to be 1453 cals):

B Yoghurt with medium glass of apple juice
L Beef meatloaf with green beans and bread, followed by yoghurt
D Galette, homemade burger, cheese, grilled onions, gherkin, homemade tomato ketchup. Followed by crème au chocolat

apple juice mmmm what does it taste like i cant remember !!!!!:p

Never liked it so no jealousy from me... (but I often wonder whether it's worth spending 15g carbs on 1/4 OH's big apple while I'm holding it on a Friday evening...)

i prefer the fermented version mind you ;p

problem with me being a Somerset girl it goes down too well

I worry that I won't be able to control myself on a gala meal - a sort of feeling that I need to 'get my money's worth!

I know what you mean, Mouse. In fact, this weekend (and probably next weekend), my galas have been a bit too-gala-ish. However, during normal weeks and weekends, I hope to keep them much more under control.

This coming weekend is when I am due to move on to Phase II, which ties in well with a trip to London.

Last weekend was way too naughty and not something which I intend to repeat on a regular basis! We were staying with family and I didn't always have access to Dukan-friendly food, plus I must confess that I misbehaved quite badly with naughty edibles. Still, I was more restrained than I would have been pre-diet, I suppose.

This my full confession of what I ate (unfortunately):

Saturday (PV - supposedly)

B Yoghurt with oatbran and medium glass of apple juice
L (Already prepared by my aunt and didn't have a chance to get out to the shops as we were on a very tight schedule) One white bread roll with a scraping of butter, a slice of lean cooked ham, a slither of pease pudding and coleslaw (tried to scrape out as much of this as poss), half a mini pork pie, one very mini sausage roll, 3 small cubes of Cheddar cheese
D Mushroom and onion egg foo yung (also contained a few peas) from the Chinese takeaway, 2 prawn crackers and 2 mini spring rolls

Sunday (gala)

B Yoghurt and small glass of apple juice
L Carvery dinner of thin slice of lean roast beef, thin slice of roast pork (I didn't eat the fat), gravy, 2 small pieces of roast potato, heaped tblsp of carrots, 2 tblsps of mashed swede, 2 tblsps of broccoli and cauli in cheese sauce, 1 tblsp garden peas, 2 large Yorkshire puddings, 1 tbslp green cabbage. Followed by sticky toffee pudding (not a huge portion) with 1 small scoop of chocolate ice cream. Washed down with half a pint of cider.
D Cheese and spring onion toasted sandwich (using my bread and cheese ration)
S (Yes, I know!!!!!!!!!!) 2 dark choc Lindt Lindors and 2 Thorntons Continental chocs, 1 of my friends' daughter's homemade biscuits

And before you ask, yep, I am thoroughly ashamed of my behaviour. (Even though it did taste nice.)

Today, I shall be trying to make up for my disgracefully decadent weekend.

PV

B Yoghurt with oatbran and small glass of apple juice
L 3 egg cheese, mushroom and spring onion omelette, followed by a yoghurt
D Courgette and mint soup with bread, followed by crème au chocolat

cider you had cider OMG i hate you you lucky mare

Scrumper - I know! Isn't it great! ;-)

Em - Perhaps too nice a menu over the weekend! :-O

Just found out that I forgot to buy the ingredients for most of tonight's dinner as I was in such a rush last weekend, so must remember to pop to the supermarket for them on the way back today. Otherwise, we'll be eating thin air.

Also, the soup which I made last night (I got it wrong when I wrote out my menu, it should read "Broccoli soup with cheese clouds") was foul. First time (and definitely last time) I've ever made it. It was supposed to serve 4, but we only managed to get 2 big bowlfuls out of it (thank goodness). The remainder was meant to go with my lunch today and tomorrow.

Planned PV menu is:

B Yoghurt with oatbran and small glass of apple juice
L Cheese and spring onion toasted sandwich, yoghurt
D Rump steak and root veg stir-fry (onion, leek, celeriac, swede, carrots), followed by crème au chocolat

Thankfully, last night's dinner turned out to be much more successful than that of the previous night. In fact, it was extremely delicious and I'll definitely be making it again - big hit with the hubby, too.

Another PV day today. I'm missing out my carb day this week, since I'll be having 2 galas at the weekend whilst I'm away as the start of my Phase II, and to recover from the excesses of last weekend. I want to try and take it slowly at first. Once this week's over, I'll start having 1 gala and 2 carb meals at first to see how it goes, before moving on to 2 of each. Obviously, I'll also extend the length of my Conso phase accordingly. I think I may decrease my bread ration back to the suggested one in the book when I move onto Phase 2 as well.

Today's menu:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, medium glass of apple juice
L Cheese and spring onion toasted sandwich, yoghurt
D Sunset oven-baked pork with tenderstem broccoli, followed by crème au chocolat

Getting ready for the weekend. I intend taking some oatbran with me and will pick up some yoghurt and Dukan-friendly sandwich stuff once we've booked into our room so they I can pop them into the fridge.

PP day today:

B Yoghurt with 1 toffee muffin
L Chicken slices with chive cottage cheese, yoghurt and 1 toffee muffin
D Oriental meatballs, 1 toffee muffin
S 1 toffee muffin

Back from a fantastic weekend in London, which happily coincided with Phase II of Conso. ;-) I'm just glad that I was able to do a LOT of walking in order to compensate.

So last week I had 2 galas and no carb meal as I'm trying to ease my way into Phase II. This week, I'll be having 1 gala and 1 carb day, plus 1 gala dessert (just the dessert, the rest will be a normal meal). Again, this is to introduce things a little more slowly and to make up for the excesses of the weekend as my galas were much more gala-ish than they are normally when I'm at home. Also, whilst I was much more restrained than I've been in the past on a London break, I did buy just a few of my very favourite chocs, but am saving them for the gala dessert later this week.

Sorry, that probably sounds awfully complicated!

Here are my menus for today and over the last weekend:

Friday with Gala meal 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, small glass of apple juice
L Cheese and tomato sandwich on wholemeal bread
D (Gala - shared with husband, so we had half of 2 different dishes each) Okonomi-yaki (Japanese-style omelettey thing with veg, cheese and bacon), Pork Yaki-soba (pork with noodles and veg), followed by a delicious but light and tiny dessert of green tea ice cream, kiwi fruit, rice dumplings, sweetened adzuki beans and a little cream. Drink was a plum wine squash

Saturday with Gala meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran
L (Gala) Started with half a homemade Scotch egg. Main was gourmet burger and chips - huge burger with bun, homemade tomato relish, gherkins, salad and Cheddar with small pot of thick potato wedge chips. Dessert was a small baked chocolate pudding with small scoop of homemade ice cream and a little pot of dark choc sauce. Drink was half a pint of proper cloudy cider.
D Ham, cheese and lettuce sandwich

Sunday PV (wouldn't normally have 2 doses of cheese but the sandwich choice was very limited and this was the most Dukan-friendly I could find at the time)

B Fruit yoghurt with oatbran (had no juice, so the yoghurt doubled up as my fruit ration for the day)
L Cheese, mushroom and onion omelette with salad
D Ham, cheese and salad sandwich

Nearly forgot to add today's menu, which is:

PV

B Yoghurt, 1 toffee muffin, medium glass of apple juice
L 2 egg cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, plus 1 toffee muffin
D Piquant pork stir-fry (includes lots of veg), 1 toffee muffin
S 1 toffee muffin

Wow what a great weekend! The Japanese food sounds delicious. The rest too of course. And isn't it nice that you can just enjoy yourself. Yes I always end up walkign miles and miles on those rare occasions when I go to London.

Your complicated plans - as long as they make sense to you that's the main thing.

~What I wanted to ask - earlier you referred to 'extending your conso phase accordingly'. Accordingly to what? Even if you lose in conso the consensus is to stick to the length originally calculated, and not to extend. Or do you mean extending because you're going more slowly? I think you're going more gradually but maybe you ought not to go necessarily more slowly by have shorter phases or gradual introductions?

There are some fantastic places to eat in London - in fact, far too many tempting places!;) The Japanese restaurant is called Abeno and there are currently 2 branches, one near the British Museum. I'd definitely recommend it if you're ever in that area. :)

Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean in your remarks about my Conso duration extension, Anja?

I'd planned on extending the Phase II period a little because I hope to try 2 carbs + 1 gala for a short while to see whether my weight STS, then moving on to the full rations if all is well. In which case, I'd only extend the duration of Phase II to cover 70 days of full rations (2 galas, 2 carbs per week).

Hope that makes sense.

Does that sound sensible, or do you foresee problems with my plan? Any advice would be very gratefully received! :)

Also, I am so incredibly terrified of Stab.:cry:
