Hi Emma-Louise,

Hope you're enjoying some freedom in the kitchen :)

i am indeed Suey its brilliant :D i love being able to make a right old mess and not have to clean it up straight away - my inner slob is LOVING it! ;)

ah the syns werent for the rice they were for reduced fat creme fraiche and a tiny splash of wine in the sauce :) xx

lunch: tuna mayo (2 syns) sandwich on a wholemeal bun (8 syns)

dinner: spag bol (3 syns)

total syns - 13

very pleased with my spag bol!! :D always ask my stepdad not to use the jars of dolmio sauce but he insists that they make it taste better... well he is wrong!! mine was just as nice if not nicer! so there :p xx

You'll have to treat your mum and stepdad to a bolognese when they get back... and prove him wrong!!
I agree bolognese does taste so much better when you make it yourself. Just out of interest what were your syns for? I always make mine syn free and wondering if it can be improved with a few syns...

if i told you my secret ingredients id have to kill you...

chorizo, tommy puree and 1 tbsp of bbq sauce ;) we used to use smokey bacon but i darent look up the syn value of streaky bacon and its not the same with back, so i need to use something else to get the smokey flavour :) id love to make a bol or a lasagne but thats very much my dads territory in the kitchen, ive left half a pan full on the side so hopefully when they get back tonight they might sneak a taste and see how good it is! :) xx

Mmmm sounds yummy, I may have to copy when I make one next!
I do love a bit of chorizo...
It's the same for me whenever I go home to my dad - nothing could possibly be as tasty as whatever he makes so I've got no chance!!
Plus we lived in Italy for 3 years when I was young, so he obviously thinks his Italian cooking skills are far greater than mine!!

monday 9th august - red day ;)

dinner: cous cous (B) with leftover bolognese sauce (2 syns) and cheese on top (A)

I'm quite impressed your lonely half wispa lasted all the way to today!!

Could you use back bacon but add smoked paprika to give it a smokey flavour? xxx

well would you believe that todays 1/2 wispa isnt the other half of the one i had two days ago which *mysteriously* disappeared out of the fridge! only other person in the house was my brother but he is adamant it wasnt him... .yeah right! xx

well i STS this week

what a pisser :( i cant work out whether it is the venison pie naughtiness from last saturday catching up with me, or the banana cake incident on friday even though i was inside my syns for the week... upset but its all my own fault xx

Aw sorry to hear you STS. Don't worry about it too much though, just stick at it and I'm sure it'll start coming off again next week.
Maybe try something different to shake things up a bit - a fishy week or a non-meat week perhaps?

a non-meat week?!?! :eek::eek::eek:
i dont think i could do it! im toying with the idea of doing a week of all red days though, will see how the week unfolds i suppose as i dont get that much say in evening meals so its difficult really xx

Hmmm... that is tough. I guess if you go for a red week you could still avoid the pasta/potatoes/rice etc and have extra veg with dinner instead?
I think it's just about changing things around to keep your body guessing... I'm going for mainly green this week, and might try red next week - am determined to get some more weight off before my hol at the end of the month!!
