i don't heat mine, i just make it up in the yog the night before and eat it cold the next morning....just like a more filling yog...i love it! :D

Happy Friday Folks :D

just popping on to write in today's menu....not a lot to report at this end and not 100% sure what i'm gonna end up with for dinner but i was faffing about on here and decided just to post anyway...

Day - GREEN

Breakfast:
Fruit salad with yog & 1 slice of scan bran cake. was up and out 1st thing so a couple of hrs later i had
a boiled egg & 1 linda mc sausage

Lunch:
WW petit pan with melted cheese and onion (haven't had these as my HEb choice before and cannot wait to have it! i love crusty bread and it'll be the 1st time in months i've had any sort of white bread so hoping i'll say mmm, that was great and not mmm...where's the rest! lol)
cup of home made soup (for superfree)

Dinner:
undecided but thinking smash pizza with salad or maybe meat free bolognese with pasta.
i know there's always the debate about synning the smash but if i have that, it will be topped with superfree PLUS my salad where as if i have the bolognese, there will be none really

left over fruit salad from this morning

HEb:
1/2 scan bran cake/1 hifi light
1 ww petit pan roll

HEa:
30g cheese (with lunch)
(plus another 30g if i opt for the pizza at dinner time

Syns:
not sure yet. i have a packet of Revels shouting at me which are 8.5 so might have them with some crisps tonight but not sure...can update later

**update on the ww petit pan for lunch**

well, i've had it, and it was nice, but my red onion kinda overpowered the taste of everything else.
think i'm kinda glad in a sense cos i originally was just gonna syn some butter but that, i think, would have pushed me over the edge...warm crusty roll...butter all melted...mmmmm (drools! lol)
i kinda would've been as well with a cheese and onion toastie using wholemeal...but not to worry...it's done now and secretly, i'm breathing a sigh of relief that my reaction wasn't what it might have been! x
 
lol the bread thing has made me laugh! sometimes i get an unbearable craving for the superthick toastie white bread with shed-loads of salty butter.......agh!!

i very rarely buy white but the odd time i have, and i've been making sandwiches for my OH, it just seems so soft and delicious...and appealing... but not worth the syns - i'll wait til i ever have an "off plan" day then i'm going for tiger bread...thick cut with lurpack to start, toasted tea cake or toasted hot cross bun with butter and home made scones from the bakers/butchers/cafe....
god amy, i wasn't even thinking of these things til i started replying! lol.
i'm so full of sh1t...bet i wouldn't even lmao x
 
ooh and those bread rolls with the cheese baked on top, warmed up with proper cheese spread.....i need help!

gonna give the revels a miss tonight and have 2 mini malteser bunnies for 6 instead along with a packet of hoops and crosses for 4.5. those plus the 0.5 for an extra bit of scan bran cake will give me a total of 11 for the day :D x
 
Oooh I love the malteser bunnies! As for the pizza, I think now and again is ok for these tweaks, and if you're having it with just salad then you're not over eating potato are you? Cos no chips. I wouldn't worry about it x

i love them too chick....i have 6 bags left then god knows what i'm gonna do for a 3 syn treat...the little chomps etc are teensy and i savour that bunny like you wouldn't believe lol.

i had the pizza and don't feel guilty at all...it was 4 or 5 tbsp of smash so nothing too drastic. i had it with salad and topped it with onion, mushroom and peppers so fell that there was no difference to me making the smash runnier and having a plate of superfree with a dollop of mash!?

it was nice too...i really enjoyed it :D x

I cannot get the ww ones anymore all the shops here stopped stocking them and I used to love them too

that's rubbish that they've stopped stocking them...i hate it when that happens :(
you should write to ww and bang on about how they're the best thing bla bla but you can't get them...they might send you some?? don't mention the dark side to them which is SW though...haha...can you imagine - they'd be thinking hmm...right then! lol.

i'll take a peek at your diary in a second...need to update my menu later as right now, i've no clue what the menu's gonna be so need to get my thinking cap on ;) x

the scan bran cake i make is using 5 scan bran, break them up and soak them in a wee drop water, fluff them up a bit (til they look a bit like weetabix) add 4-5 spoonfuls of sweetener (depending on taste), 2 eggs and i use a toffee muller. i sometimes add some cinnamon then put it in a microwavable tub and bung it in. i do mines for about 10-12 mins but that will depend on the power of your microwave too lol.

the tub i use is quite big and not too deep and i cut it in to 10 slices meaning that if i use half for my HEb, i can snack on it through out the day or add it to fruit etc.
I like it, (my other half definitely doesn't lol) but haven't tried any other flavours of yog cos i know i like that one!
I think there are a few recipes on the SW website although i've never looked properly...i tasted a bit at WI one night and my C gave me the recipe and that was that.

as for the ferrero rochers...i use ryvita, crush them right up, usually 3 or 4 and stick a tablespoon of nutella in the microwave til it softens then mix it all together. if i use 3 crackers, it would be 8.5 syns for the mixture so depending how big you make them would determine how many syns they are each.

when i first started making them, i used more Ryvita and more nutella but found cos i was only having a couple now and then (and keeping them in the fridge) they went a bit chewy so just do smaller amounts.

to be honest, it's the 1st time in ages that i've made them and they wouldn't stick well together so i kept dipping my fingers in some water to squeeze them together which meant that they weren't crispy!
lesson learned me thinks lol...but still trial and error.

they're good though...my little one loves them which is a bonus as he thinks he's getting ferrero rocher but of course they're much healthier!

I haven't tried the curly wurly one....was it nice?
think there's a carrot cake one too you can do which i fancy trying...but i don't have a cake/loaf tin and wasn't sure if it would turn out the same in anything else? x

Thanks for all this, made the curly wurly scan bran cake again and it was horrible, perhaps I don't like scan bran then. Think I may have a go at ferrero rochers and use ryvitas like you use, see some people have used scan bran and they also use syrup. X

i've not tried the curly wurly one and yesterday, i made a scan bran cake as normal but used a different flavoured yog...it's a bit bland to be honest so think i'll stick with what i usually do with the toffee one and add cinnamon.
it's definitely an acquired taste lol....and nothing like the "cake" taste we think comes along with the word cake...but i've seen a lot of different ones being made this week as people are doing the scan bran challenge and making coffee cake using it, banana cake etc so maybe different ingredients help?
i want to try the carrot cake and might do at some point.

you should def try the ryvita ferrero rochers...even my little one likes them...and he's a fussy b*gger at times lol x

hiya folks....

eugh! what a cold windy day it is today....that nice weather we got through the week was definitely just a teaser me thinks.
BOOOO to that i say...middle of may and i'm still freezing! lol.

wasn't sure how today's menu was gonna look but i've finally decided so can update now.
i've been spending the last couple of nights trying to get my head around red days and think i'm going to give it a bash tomorrow....eeeek! hehe

today....

Day - EE

Breakfast:
fruit salad with yog & a slice of scan bran cake
1 e/l choices sausage, 2 bacon medallions and some scrambled egg

Lunch:
Ham salad sandwich using e/l laughing cow cheese tri instead of butter or mayo (part of my HEa)

Dinner:
diet cola chicken with lots of peppers and onions and egg noodles

HEb - wholemeal bread
HEa - 20g cheddar stick and 1 cheese triangle

Syns:
0.5 on scan bran
0.5 on the sausage
and the rest....to be confirmed ;)
