Today today today.
Wasn't quite so reluctant to get out of bed this morning, but was still tired.
Got down the gym and was aching like mad.
Really didn't enjoy the workout this morning, but I did it.
Just 1 Zumba class tomorrow and that's my working out done until Monday evening at Aquafit.
Was hoping to be at work for 9:30, but got there about 20 to 10 because I forgot to pack my sports bra last night, so had to go home before going to the gym to get it. Silly billy.
And then, because I was aching so much, I took more time in between activities to catch my breath.
I could've started at 9:45, but decided just to chill for 20 minutes before starting work.
Day was ok.
Same as most of the others really - putting out stock, pricing items, until I get a call to the manager's office
So I go in and the manager and the deputy manager are in there and want to have a chat with me, see how I've been getting on, how I'm finding working there, what I've learnt etc.
Almost like a mini interview.
The manager tells me that he's calling all the jobcentre work experience people in, to have a little chat with them and get to know them, in case he's got any hours available.
He told me he's had good feedback from his staff about me, and if he's got any hours, then I'll know by the end of the day.
I also told him that if it was ok with the jobcentre and with him, after my work experience finishes next friday, if there's no jobs available, I'd like to extend my work experience as I've been enjoying having a routine again.
So I spend the rest of the afternoon wondering, talking to other members of staff, hearing their views, and got told by my department supervisor that if there's a job going, I'm top of the list, but I didn't hear it from him.
So, at 3pm, an hour before finishing, myself and the other work experience girl that finishes next friday (the final WE person is a boy who's still got 3 weeks left), get called to the manager's office again, however the other girl had already finished for the day (but somehow someone got hold of her and she came back).
I was told that I had made an impact, had impressed the staff and that they were offering me a 20 hour contract starting Monday 24th June!
Yay!!!
I've got a job!!
arty0011:
So I'm to finish my work experience as I would've done this week coming, and will be receiving my rota within next week, ready for the following Monday.
It's a bit bittersweet though, as I've got tickets to Alton Towers on the 24th, and now can't go.
Luckily they were freebies from The Sun, so it's not costing me anything to miss out, but I'm a bit gutted.
However, now I've got a job, I'll be able to afford to go at some other time (using a 2for1 of course - I ain't paying full price when I don't need to haha).
It's my friend's birthday that day as well, and he managed to get the time off work and was going to tag along with me (I hadn't actually found anyone to come with me yet cuz they're all working, but it just seems that I wasn't supposed to find someone to come with me, because now I can't go - the greater plans of the universe).
So now I'm thinking of just giving my friend the tickets so he can go with someone and enjoy himself.
My biggest concern atm is how it's going to change my routine.
At the moment, I start once I've finished at the gym, and make sure I'm finished in time for classes.
However,
they'll be telling
me when to work when I officially start.
It's only 4 hours a day over 5 days of the week, so going to the gym shouldn't be too hard, however I may end up missing classes.
And that's what worries me.
I've announced I'm going to be at goal in 5 weeks, but if the amount of exercise I do goes down, I'm worried the amount I lose will as well.
So thinking I'm gonna have to either getting in extra exercise by walking or cycling, or try different classes during the hours that I'm not working.
I don't think it would be wise to do my gym workout twice in one day though.
But we'll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.
So I've had a brill day.
I can go to the jobcentre on Tuesday and tell them I don't need their money anymore.
It's really weird - I applied for a job in this shop a whole year ago when they were opening it up.
Got the interview and was told there was a good chance of getting a position, however it didn't work out.
Now, a year later, I'm working there anyway.
Madness haha.
Went shopping at Morrisons, then headed to Tesco (they're quite close) and got a whole bunch of reductions such as 4 bags of bananas for 20 something pence each (they were based on weight), 2 punnets of grapes for 31p each, mum got mushrooms for 25p and a whole bunch of stuff.
Got home and just had my pizza and sweet potato chunks again.
Tonight I stuck them under the grill instead of in the mickey and I left the pizza in til it was a bit burnt (rubbish cook over here), however the wrap had gone all crispy and it tasted amazing.
I can't get enough of them.
I've got 4 points left.
Thinking of having some ice cream and some fluff.
Hope you've all had a good day too.
Signing out!
