Helloooo!!! Your food is looking luscious as usual! I love the veggies in your pesto! I made a watercress pesto the other day and I have aubergines and peppers in the fridge. You've just given me a great idea adding griddled aubergines and peppers to some yummy pesto pasta!

Thanks hun. Mmm that sounds good! I think I could easily eat pasta for every meal if I had to. Enjoy! I'm about to pop over to your diary to get some inspiration for next weeks meals. :)

I have decided to officially have this weekend off as it's impossible to be SW friendly whilst we're away! See you all Tuesday (when the WI scales will not be my friend) Xx

The weekend off has resulted in a STS from the official WI last Tuesday so still 10st 6.5lbs. I'm not disappointed as I'm not desperate to lose too much more as I'm under my original target. However I will stick at it as I genuinely prefer the SW diet and a few more pounds won't hurt.

I'm looking forward to getting something back from this insurance claim as my boots have holes in, my leggings are thinning and my jeans are too big :)! I'm actually going to attempt to get my bum into a size 10 next time I go shopping!

Ooh I'm so excited for you! Size 10 is no mean feat! Have fun shopping and well done getting to this point! How amazing a feeling is it that you can take or leave a few extra lbs loss! Can't wait till I'm in that position!

Thanks Honeyoc! My original target was 10st 7lbs, I just changed it to 10st thinking I wanted to lose more but I'm actually finding I'm kind of happy as I am. I just think that weightloss can get a bit addictive so I'm making an effort not to focus on it too much and just enjoy the SW lifestyle as I genuinely enjoy the diet. SW makes me feel so much healthier and I have no guilt when I enjoy the occassional treat, plus I actually enjoy those treats more than when I was having them all the time.

It feels weird thinking of myself as a 10 as I've been a 12 (sometimes a 14) for such a long time. Because I have a big bum (which I like!) I don't think I ever thought I'd fit into a size 10 on my bottom half. I might try on a pair of my Mum's size 10 jeans tomorrow to see if they fit
:)!

Do you have much further to go until you reach target? How are you finding SW with being pregnant? Congrats by the way it must be such an exciting time! I can't wait to start a family and have some little ones running around :D!

Congrats on staying the same!!! I hope my weight stays the same for the next few weeks, I have some heavy weekends coming up! Takeaway this Fri (but I can have the healthy option!), Hen Party next Saturday (consisting of afternoon tea and a greek meal!!), Italian meal out the week after, week after that a wedding, and then the following 2 weeks I have b'day parties! There is no hope for my diet over the next month and a half!! I will just have to try my best.

Enjoy buying your clothes when you get your money through! Especially buying smaller sizes! That will be a great day out! :) x

That curry looks really gorgeous. What rice do you use? Do you use a boil-in-the-bag one or make one yourself? I can never get the normal stuff right :( I end up using a microwaveable one or a boil-in-the-bag one. Much cheaper to make the regular stuff, if only I could master it.

What is magic porridge? That dinner looks incredible by the way. SO good. Do you make your slimming world chips by par-boiling, frying and then oven baking? I love how they're so thin and crispy looking. mmm!

Ooh and I forgot to congratulate the OH on going a whole week booze free (this is a big deal for him)! His treat was a pint of ale with his jacket potato at lunch yesterday!

I'm so chuffed at how much he's getting into this. He's even declining cake and biscuits without me having to nudge him.
The booze is a killer isn't it? Me and the OH love our few drinks! It makes it so much easier when you are doing with someone doesn't it? my OH can be hard to motivate sometimes, and we dont see eachother every day or live together (yet, 6 month count-down yipee) so it can be hard to plan stuff as we dont always eat together. But overall he has made so many changes and it makes me so happy because I look forward to a healthy happy life together eating amazing delicious food ;) We also tend to eat out quite a bit like yourselves x

WI tomorrow. I haven't been too strict this week as I'm feeling like I may have reached target - I'm chuffed to bits with my figure as it is now so I don't mind if I don't lose much more. I'm going to stick to plan until we leave the country at the beginning of May, so any loss before then is a bonus! :D

Was it just for a month? sounds like it was great, fair play to you getting up and leaving your house etc. had your lease etc run out? I bet it was a brilliant experience. Where did you go? One more teeny weeny question, what is magic porridge?

It's just normal rice. I know what you mean though as I remember I never used to be able to get it right but I think I make it so often now that I've managed to master it. I just put the rice in boiling water and leave it alone until it's ready. I don't time it I just stay near it as I'm normally doing the rest of the dinner and look at it or taste it on occassion to see if it's done.

What is magic porridge? That dinner looks incredible by the way. SO good. Do you make your slimming world chips by par-boiling, frying and then oven baking? I love how they're so thin and crispy looking. mmm!

Magic Porridge is 35g porridge oats mixed with a mullerlight (or any yoghurt you fancy). You mix it all together the night before in a bowl, cover it with clingfilm, and pop it in the fridge. The porridge soaks up the yoghurt so it's ready to eat straight from the fridge. I find Mullerlight vanilla works best as there's lots of yoghurt in the pot and the flavour goes well with the porridge. I normally have a chopped banana and blueberries with it to make up my third superfree.

With the chips I use jacket potatoes. I peel them and slice them into chips shapes, space them out on a plate and microwave for 5 mins. I them cover a tray with tin foil and spray it with frylight. Arrange the chips on the tray so they aren't touching and spray over them with frylight, then pop into a hot oven for 20 mins or until they're cooked through. When I parboiled them I'd end up overcooking them half the time so I'd end up with a soggy mush. Microwaving them first pretty much guarantees perfect chips!

I've seen some people on MiniMins suggest 0% fat Greek Yoghurt as an alternative to fromage frais so it may be worth a try?

It's great. I made something similar before I went travelling using a recipe from a SW mag but lost the magazine so I googled the ingredients I thought was in it and came across a recipe on Slimming Eats (Pork Loins with a Mustard and Apple Sauce on Bubble and Squeak Mash | Slimming Eats - Slimming World Recipes) but I left out the apple and sugar to make it almost free.

Thanks hun glad you enjoyed reading it. Have you just started SW? Do you have a diary?

We went travelling through Europe for four months. We went to Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium! It was amazing - we took our car and camped the majority of the time which I loved. I was a bit sceptical to begin with but I really got into it. So much so that we're already planning to revisit Spain and camp again for a holiday. It was so great being able to just jump in the car and go to the next place. I've been back almost a month now and really starting to miss it. Towards the end I was ready to go home but looking back over the photos is making me sad we're not still out there. I really must put some photos on my profile on here of the trip.

Looking forward to speaking to you more! x

Tut tut Vintagepockets, the superfree police is gonna come getchu! :D

Mind if I butt in and suggest a foolproof rice recipe for Tracey? Tracey here's what I do;

  • Weigh out your rice and use double it's weight in water volume. So if you have 300g rice, you use 600ml water. The water should be tap hot.
  • Wash the rice several times in warm water, this is essential as it washes some of the starch away and makes the grains nice and separate when cooked.
  • Transfer to a pot, add salt to taste and add the water.
  • Cook on high until the water boils and then turn down the heat to the very lowest setting and allow to steam for 20 minutes. YOU MUST NOT OPEN THE LID!!!!
  • After 20 minutes fluff with a fork and eat!
  • Same applies to brown rice, same weight to volume ratio, except you let the rice steam for 40 minutes.

Hey Hun.

I thought I would pop into to say Hi and well done! You are doing fabulously and your food is looking great too.

Do you do much exercise at all? I find that I am good at doing either SW or exercise at the moment, but not both!

Thanks hun. Not at the moment I've become really lazy and I blame not working at the moment lol. Not doing anything makes me lazier! :) I do need to get my bum into gear by starting the 30 day shred which I keep putting off!

I've just caught up on Nigellisima today and I'm going to SW-fy this Nigella recipe next week.

http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/MEATZZA-5546

It should be easy I just need to use extra lean mince, cut out the garlic oil/butter and use porridge oats instead of breadcrumbs!
