Dubchick81 said:Yea he took to the lead straight away. He was very good.
sarah88 said:When tills was a pup we were always told only 3 x 10 min walks a day! Apparently lots of little walks is better than a big one as their joints r still forming and it can give them joint problems. But I'm not a vet so don't take my word for it!
sarah88 said:It's best not to go mad every day but I think as it's ur first walk together it will b fine!
Tills still gets 2 walks now, she gets 10 min in morning b4 I go out anywhere then 30 mins in the afternoon! And she's got the odd limp every now and again since jumping off the sofa like a numpty but I think she's good otherwise! Obviously I know ur not dumb and no how to look after a dog, but I like to feel like I help!
Dubchick81 said:Thanks hun it's very much appreciated. Am new to this puppy lark so appreciate any help/advice u can pass on
Is Tilly only a pup? She looks quite young in ur pic ya'v just put up. Very cute! Is she a collie?
emmaedes said:Yay first walk done! Sooo pleased he loved it!, and you loved it
You and Sarah are making me get puppy envy!! Both are gorgeous!!xxx
sarah88 said:She is 16 months but small for a collie, and she is a pure collie, she came from a farm and my oh was like oh a farm dog! But she really is lovely! And she hates my oh dads sheep, she runs in the opposite direction
Dubchick81 said:She's adorable. Sure ya'v heard ne talk about our old dog lassie. We had her for 15/16 years, she was a border collie. Absolutely brilliant dogs. And GREAT with kids. Ours was a long haired collie but I wouldn't say there was much height difference. Obv I'm guessing Tilly's height as she sat down in the pics but going by her paws n size of her head...
sarah88 said:Get one, get one!!
sarah88 said:They told me tills was long haired when I got her but I quite like her short hair now! I've been told by ppl that she's small for a collie, they r a nice sized dog! Not too big and not too small! Yeah I remember u saying about lassie, poor thing! How old do collies live to? My mil has jack russells and ones 8 and apparently that's old!
Dubchick81 said:Tbh I don't kno but we had ours for allot longer than that. We had her at least 14 years. But I think it was more like 16 years... She was a brilliant dog. N like Tilly she had my niece pull n drag n climb in her back like she was a horse n she just carried in regardless.
Aw the long hair ones are cute, but my God when they shed their coat they cover the whole place!!
sarah88 said:Yeah Tilly is bad enough for hair loss, don't think id cope with longer hair, it drives me mad at the mo, I'm hoovering everyday, floor and sofa!
Here r a couple more pics to try and give u an idea of her size tho it's hard to tell from a photo
