Frances' New House, New Life, New Start Diary...

Maybe you should try eating a bit more then Hun,that's could be it.Try a week of eating more and see how you go,especially if exercising more with walking.
See, I know how easy this sounds... But honestly, after each meal I've had.. I'm full!
Like the other day I had an admirals ocean crumble and 150g boiled potatoes.. That's not a big dinner to many I know, But I was STUFFED!! Only ate half the potatoes and about 2/3 of the crumble.. I was so stuffed tho (remember I was giving out that I hadn't added veg but couldn't have eaten them even if I had?!)

Oh I know it was a great achievement to have lost that amount.. And I was so pleased with myself when I hit that 2 stone goal.. But that was 8 months ago and I've another AT LEAST stone to go.. So while its great I've got that far, i still have SO far to go...

Lost it doing Weight Watchers hun.. WW is the only "diet" I've ever done as its always worked for me.. I'm not doing anything difference now to then tho.. I cook fresh healthy meals as if I don't I'm crippled with pain from my IBS.. So I've no choice.. The only thing I done differently was probably the soups..

Maybe then your body is bored.....and needs a shake up to kick your metabolism again ? maybe its in the routine and stopping losing, i know its quite "normal" when dieting that eventually that diet stops having an effect? xxsx

How bout less carbs and more veg Hun?maybe a few weeks of trying different things to see what works for you as there is something that will its just finding it and I understand you being frustrated after 8 months.

I agree that maybe you aren't eating enough, you need to eat every single one of your dailies.
Even if you use them up on drinks, nuts, sauces xxx

We'll see.. I know pasta is a heavy dinner n never have it the night before WI.. My weigh is officially tomoro (please don't give out anyone for sneaky WI's as I usually would do to you)
Medical check was bloods in one hospital.. (they checked thyroid, glucose, hormone and something else which I now can't rememner) And had colonoscopy and ghastroscopy and more bloods in another... Have been diagnosed (officially) with IBS.. Which I've known I've had for years, but just went n got the tests done last month to have it official so I can get a prescription to treat it when it flares..
(I did giggle that u used the word "butt", considering what I'd had done hee hee)

Hehe!

Hmmm - maybe you're not eating enough? I have suffered wit IBS since my teens so feel your pain on that one (literally!) Just a thought on that though - one of the common issues with IBS is erratic bowel movements. There's no other way of putting it, but(t!) I find I can 'hang' onto food in my body, even when I've been to the loo, and if I were a 'normal' person, would have cleared everything out in one go! (Pun intended!) Then later I'll have to go again and realise I was still hanging onto a lot of food in my system. (Sorry peeps if this is TMI - I'm trying to put it delicately!) Maybe the healthy food is hanging around in your system, not just the pasta. Also you said you hadn't had much veg the last day (or two?) If I don't eat enough veg my IBS plays up and I get bloated and constipated with it. Were the soups you mentioned in another reply veggie soups? If so, maybe worth getting some of them inside ya!

Phew just finished my breakfast before I read this LOL

See this is what WW kept telling me when I attended meetings but honestly, I eat enough to fill me.. Maybe its not enough for my body to function. So do i keep on eating, after I'm full???
I eat so much fruit and veg (usually) that I can't eat up all my PP's Nessa.. This is why I have my dailies set to between 26 n 29.. If I reach 26 in a day I'm happy that I've had enough..

In reply to the IBS part of the above comment... Yes this happens.. I "hang on" to food.. But this last 2 weeks maybe, i've been regular.. Yes, still cud be hanging but going far more than EVER as usually I'd only got (on a good week) once a week r every 2 weeks.. So i'm far more "clear" than I usually would be...

BTW girls, I hadn't intended on all this support/advice.. Was just getting it off my chest.. So thank you all so much for all your advices n suggestions... xxx

It doesn't sound like you eat very much? I'm not giving out to you in ANY way about that btw - just making an observation lol. I dunno how you survive lol - I must seem like a greedy gut to you. I eat between 1760-1990 every day the last 2 weeks. I'm thinking I'm just maintaining at that for now because I can't seem to stick to anything (tomorrows WI will probs prove this for me). It probably is the pasta and water. I had pasta last night and wouldn't dream of weighing in today now hehe - I'm always up a lb or 2 when I have pasta the night before. Are you drinking 3litres of water? That's a lot of water too - take a couple days to level out. With the extra exercise with Stringer, you might need to try and fit in some extra cals somewhere. Glass of OJ? Nuts? A yogurt or actimel with brekkie? Maybe you need more protein?? What kinda fillings do you have in your lunchtime sambo? Maybe have more fillings - some cheese or more chicken. (bug hugs) x

Sorry.. Just nipped off to get me brekkie :)

No you don't at all Sarah.. I'm just not a picker at all.. Never have been.. Saying that, I do have my moments!!!
I eat allot of protein.. Like, usual sandwich is ham... or turkey... Then dinner is chicken.. Or now I've realised I like salmon it'll be that.. If i'm having any mince meals its turkey mince..
I know.. I'd never usually have pasta the day before WI, but WI is officially tomoro.. And I never hav a huge portion of it.. Well, its big for me but I only had a 40g portion of dried wholegrain... PACKED with veg!!

Doesn't look like it's the IBS side of things then. It's difficult if you're feeling full - what about full fat versions of dairy instead of low fat (although vaguely remember you may be doing that anyway), nuts, avocados? Or 5 smaller meals instead of 3?

Have the veg that you need to point like peas sweetcorn and parsnips that way you are still getting your veg but using those points up too xx

Yeah I understand hon - I'm defo a picker. Have to really try not to snack out of control.
Do you like cheese? You could slap a bit on your sambo. Some golden olive type spread is high-ish in cals but full of good fats too (if you don't like cheese). You olive oil to fry your food (eggs etc.). Salmon is awesome and full of _good_ fats so that's great to have maybe twice a week if possible? 40g pasta lol. I had 75g of spaghetti last night!! You defo make me feel like a greedy guts ;)

Oh I do like Nessa's idea of pointed veg? I love me some peas. Beans are something I can't really eat - seems to flare up some IBS-type symptoms :( but if you can eat em then do! They're pointy but healthy.
I do think your body might be just hanging onto the food you're eating. Might just be a couple of simple changes to start up the losses again - mine have stalled aswell xxx

Yea I've been having full fat cheese.. I can't take full fat milk at all.. Its horrible :( Don't like nuts or avicados..
I'm still eating my brekkie.. Am struggling, not gona lie.. Decided to have 45g of porridge instead of my usual 30g and I've added 15g sultanas to bring up the points... I'm SO full and only halfway thru...

Yum.. Love me veg.. Not peas tho..Yuk (lol) I love parsnip chips :D But have them instead of potatoes which kinda then defeats the purpose.. oops.. :)
My only problem with that is if I add veg, i'll cut the amount of potatoes I eat.. Which kinda defeats the purpose a big..

I know i'm sounding like a negative nelly, shooting down all these great suggestions.. But i'm funny with my food..
I eat what I can n what I like.. Like, last week I bought actimels to have and use up more PP's while having something healthy, instead of thinking "oh I have 5pp's over, I'll have chocolate", And I had to throw them out yesterday as they went off.. Full pack of actimels in the bin.. Such a waste.. I like them, but wasn't in form of having them... I might have a yogurt a year!!!

See? I know my portion of pasta is small, sometimes I'll have 50g if I really hungry... But its more than enough to fill me.. I have cheese on almost everything.. If its not cheddar/edam its cheese singles or philly.. Love me some cheese :) Usually use full fat cheese too to use up extra PP's.. Altho somestimes it'll be Low Fat coz I feel guilty almost eating full fat..
Don't like beans at all so they're a no no.. Altho great source of fibre...

i know what you mean hun, your not being negative!! you can't lie and say o yer i can do that when you know you dont like it!! because that wont be helping yourself!! I agree with you in the fact of if you have PP leftover then not great mind set to use on chocolate or something! maybe with the walks with stringer and that it will help kick start your metabolism.

not sure on PP's but instead of porridge (not sure which one u have) why dont u try oat so simple (if you dont already!) like the golden syrup one as im sure (not 100% sure, kind of guessing lol) that it will be slightly higher pp than normal porridge - ok i realise this comment isnt actually helpful as i have basically guessed lol! so sorry if its wrong (probably is)

like making slight tweeks just to increase your PP's!?

ooo or have a google and look at things that help with your metabolism? i think things like green tea are good for it? xxx

Got the same problem with not eating enough and the only way I can seem to combat it is to bulk up breakfast because otherwise i'm having a supper just for the sake of it.. but then I feel guilty for using points so early on in the day in case I *need* them later on, lol :p Nuts/dried fruit/fruit juice are all good for a bigger breakfast, shame you don't like them!

Oatsosimple sachets etc are higher in points but are packed with sugar etc, adding jam or honey to your porridge would probably be a better idea :) Adding eggs to a meal somewhere whether it's just hard boiled egg in a salad or a small serving of scrambled egg at the side of the plate is a good idea x

Hmm maybe....cut down on the cheese! I really think a chop and change of a few things for a couple of weeks will help and maybe drink less water before breakfast etc so you eat more and aren't full up on liquid so to speak!

I already drink green tea, take sea kelp tabs and acai berry... Not all at once! ha..
I have jumping between porridge, bran flakes and weetabix for brekkie of late.. I love me porridge..
Couldn't eat anything with golden syrup or the likes as its far too sweet for me.. I add either sultanas/raisins or crunchy apricot linseed to my porridge to up its PP's.. But still that's only 4 r 5pp's...

I tried adding butter to my mash last week as that's how I would have had it as a kid.. Thought it'd be a great way to up the pp's.. EWW.. nearly got sick with 1 bite.. its AWFUL!! So I had to remake it with a splash of milk :) Yum :)

Jaly, this is me.. I don't liek to use too many PP's early in the day as then I'm panicked for the rest of the day thinking OMG i've no PP's left.. What if I'm hungry? What will I eat that's no PP? etc etc.. And then coz i'm thinking all day about it, and I'm thinking about food all day, I get hungry n feel I need to hav something.. even if I've planned my day perfectly with plenty of snacks so there's no way I'd go hungry.. Its a mind over matter type thing isn't it?!

Adding eggs is a very good idea.. One which I defo will take on.. I often add an egg to my rice if I've allot left come dinner time and I've heard of people cracking an egg into their mash (usually for babies but hey ho ha ha) So will defo keep that in mind.. thank you :)

Good idea.. but I find if I don't get a good start on my water I struggle to drink any... but I will work on this :) Thanks
