From here to Eternally Slim

Thanks MLM, seems you had an eventful morning. Hope all is ok with the inlaws?

Still off work today, got up, had a shower and I was so light headed, had to lie down after that, so made the decision not to go in and to do some admin from home. Im fine if Im sitting down. Good thing is, my chest infection, seems to have lifted a little, no coughing during the night, so my chest isn't as painful today. "Hail" the old mould, it (penicilin) must be working already :D. Could be back tomorrow :).

So off to the webamail now to make sense of any emails i've been sent in the last 6 weeks i've been out of office, lol.. could be a long sit on this here comp. x

Morning all!!

Glad to hear your feeling a bit better EF, thanks for the message :)

I made real dauphinoise potatoes last night in the end *slaps wrists* I did get a chance to see your post otherwise i would have made them!! DOH!!

We were disconnected from the internet from 12:00 onwards yesterday, i left work at 15:00 as my brother has a massive rash and a temperature of 102.6 so i took him to the doctors, they've ruled out meningitis which is a relief as all the boys in my family have died from it so its something were all on edge about! Aparently he has hand, foot and mouth (a viral infection) and should be okay soon!

MLM - I know what you mean as by the 3rd day of 11 hour stretches i was making any excuse to sit down lol, I do love it tho, designing and creating each room, knowing that its all your own work :D

I put the aerial cable in last night, quite typically of me i decided to have the telly on the other side of the room to where the socket is :D I spent 1 hour with a hammer and some coaxial clips pinning the cable to the wall neatly lol. Im going to get the tv and sofa round tonight :D im making a cottage pie with SW chocolate cake;

I think this is also one of britmums recipes!!

REAL chocolate cake.

Ingredients
9 syns for entire cake
6 large eggs seperated
1/2 cup of splenda (or other sweetener)
2 oz of cocoa powder (be sure to use real cocoa powder and not drinking chocolate etc)

Method
Preheat oven to 180c or 350f, spray a oven proof cake tin with non stick spray
Whisk the egg whites to the soft peak stage and set aside.
Then place the egg yolks in another mixing bowl and whisk until they start to thicken, then add the splenda and continue to whisk, but be careful not to let the yolk mixture get too thick. Add the cocoa powder into the egg yolk mixture and if it starts to get too stiff, add a little of the egg white mixture.
Carefully fold in the egg whites into the chocolate mixture and then pour the mixture into the cake tin.
Bake the cake for approx 25 minutes until springy.
Remove it from the oven but leave it in the cake tin to cool.

I served with fresh light squirty cream (1 syn for 4 tablespoons). Which made a quarter serving of the cake about 3.5 syns.

Morning EF, good to hear your cough has settled a bit! Penicillin eh? Whodathunk mouldy bread could be so useful!

RE the minx-in-law, she is lovely, and I get on really well with her. She usually comes to visit once a week, and doesn't look or act or really seem to feel her age at all, she is 79 next week, and is a dab hand with a computer, likes to play on the wii, and is a fabby grandma!

Still snuffly here, but that could be the dust as well as it could be the germs. Have a good day all!

Thanks Pesty, she really is tremendous, she has been a never ending source of love and support for me, I was estranged from my own mum for 5 years (long story) and she was so kind to me during that time- she's just awesome. I am very lucky.

You must tell me about your decorating, what colours are you doing and all that sort of thing? My kitchen is next on the hit list but it will have to wait till next year coz there is just too much going on between now and Christmas!

Morning Pesty, Our posts must have crossed. Another nice meal and choc cake tonight. I like the idea of the cake, with only 3.5 syns for 1/4 of the whole thing, mmm, big slice me thinks. Sounds like you are really enjoying designing and arrnanging things at the new home and its lovely to hear. But.. Naughty Pesty for naughty dauophinoise, lol. At least you know what it'll be like to do it sw style. Gonna do a sw rice pudding sometime this week, thats free on green and EE using your HEX's, so good for after dinner and brekkie with chopped bananna on too, mmm ;).

MLM sounds like you have a cold on its way, get yourself some Vit C before it takes hold hun.

Had to delete so many emails from my work webmail to be able to answer any this morning, the IT have shrunk our inbox useage, makes you think though.. I suppose when you get junk through, to delete it first and then delete the deleted, what a perfermance! lol. Not much to answer so over and done in an hour and made myself an omelette for brekkie as well.

Gonna try and look up the restaurant im going to tonight for my nieces birthday, and see what I can have, thinking of seafood aribiatta but we'll see.

Be back soon x

Hi All!

I'm trying a green day today so I can have more HeXB's so making homemade spicy veg soup and probably pasta with arriabiata {SP} sauce for dinner tonight ..

Afternoon All

Its another nice sunny one here again today

Glad to hear the Antibiotics are starting to kick in EF ;)

Sorry you're still feeling crappy MLM...some nasty bugs flying around at the mo :sigh:

Hope your little Bro is a bit better today Pesty? that must have been very worrying for you and your family :( the choccie cake sounds lush.....just what you need after all that decorating and organising rooms :p

Well its WI tonight.....Ive got a baaaad feeling about ti too:sigh: since my bad day at the hosp when I had the kitkat attack.....then nicked a mars bar out of OH's golf bag and ate it in the loo (the shame of it so he didnt know:break_diet:) my tum has been giving me hell so ive eaten over half a bottle of gaviscon advance on top of my normal meds.....result.....not been to the loo AGAIN  and my belly is soooooo hurting, I swear I am NEVER BINGEING ON CRAP THAT I KNOW HURTS MY TUM ANYWAY EVER AGAIN......I dont think

I will report back with the damage :sigh: x x

I am proper hungry today. Salmon for tea tonight (doing a bit of a fish week kinda to give myself a bit of a kick-restart). Cant decide whether to have roasted veg or salad with it. Think it might be roasted veg, co-op had two packets of courgettes for 2.50 yesterday so I have a surplus.

So many birthdays next week, its my mums, the minx in laws, and my mums boyf (lol, hes like, late 50s, boywhat?), am going to have minx in law over for a SW friendly lunch on tuesday, but need to carefully negotiate my way round celebrating my mums birthday coz shes like.. going to be 60 and wants to go out for a meal. I am going to try and persuade her to let me cook, firstly because I know my brother is absolutely skint, and wont be able to afford to go out to eat but would be upset if he couldnt come, and secondly because then I have some control over what I eat. Too close to October to be taking liberties with flexisyns, imo.

Will have to carefully negotiate with her, I think.

Aww, CD. Think of tonights WI as a fresh start after a rubbish week. Whatever damage is done is done, draw a line under it and fresh start after WI. (((hugs)))

MLM i think that'll be more special doing a meal for her!! And then you can all celebrate how you want instead of the holding back in a public place lol I always feel uneasy in a restaurant esp if there's quite a few of you!! Dinner tonight i would go with the roasted veg - sounds yummy!!! You did remind me that i forgot to buy cauliflower at lunch DOH!! Trip to my mums to pinch some out of the freezer me thinks!!

Im glad to hear that your mix in law has been such a rock for you, i had a friends mum that was there for me when my relationship with my mum was on the rocks and i will always love her for it, the repayment is in the appreciation you have for her.

My schemes are as follows;

main bedroom - cream on 3 walls, mulberry on the other
2nd bedroom - cream on 3 walls, teal on the other
Front room - Black and white (3 white walls one black wallpaper from next (sample below)) with black glass dining table and black gloss furniture.

Kitchen - Currently grey and white but were thinking of changing the floor which is currently a beigy colour

Bathroom - Currently white with same beigy floor tiles as the kitchen but im stealing some black tiles that my OHs sister has left over :D

CD - sorry to hear your not feeling well huni (((hugs))) dont worry about WI tonight, its a bummer when you havent done well because of illness but it cant be helped. As MLM said draw a line under it and go for it next week, your health is the most important thing. My brothers okay thank you, his rash is getting worse before it gets better but were just about keeping his temperature down enough, he's just itching like crazy, we had a few tears before i left for work this morning bless him!!

EF - Im going to give the cake a go tonight and will tell you if its any good!!

Mel - I havent had soup in ages!!! The weather is getting a bit cold here so might be time to get my food processor out!! I think i'll do a sweet potato soup over the weekend!!!

xxxx

It really helped me when my tum was being silly
The now re- named famous Dyno Rod soup

Speed food Soup (syn free on Green and EE)

1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
2 cans chopped tomatoes

Handful of split lentils
2 large leeks
1 large onion
4 medium carrots
2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
2 vegetable stock cubes

Water (enough to cover all ingredients)
Chop all vegetables. Put them and everything else into a large pan, cover with water, bring to boil and simmer until vegetables are soft (about 30 mins). Once cooked, the soup can be left chunky or blended smooth.

Thanks CD, Dyno Rod Soup - free on Ee too, so will give that a go myself. Love the new named soup, lol.. guess that means it def is a SPEED soup, lol.. no holes barred, eeewwww.

Pesty, I like Next designs, I have their bedcovers and throws in gold/bronze, love them. That wallpapaer looks nice and they do some really nice photo frames and accessories in there too. It will look lovely when its finished. xx

1.5 lb ON for me at WI .... that will teach me to steal mars bars off OH and eat them in the loo where he cant see:rolleyes: my tum is still paying the price now....god it hurts I look pregnant!!!!:(

still no action in the ....ahem toilet dept so Ive got a big pan of Dyno Rod soup to make tomorrow in an effort to sort things out:p. Got my Barium swallow on the 20th so hopefully that will shed some more light on whats happening down there

CD, I do feel for you re not going to the loo. I take it you are not veggie? If you are, apologies hun. If not, then steak is the key here, it always works for me, with salad or veggies it does the trick. Sorry to hear about your 1.5lb gain, but in all honesty if you stay on track, that will be off by Monday hun, so stay on track, plan plan plan and you'll be fine. Fingers crossed they find out the core of the prob with the Barium hun x

That said, lol.. Ive just got back from Italian, a little drunk, and had a lovely eve, food wise, great decision made, but turned out to be quite oily (think olive oil drizzled all over pasta), so wasn't for me. But the drink (wine spritza's) let me down really, so here we go again and back to basics tomorrow. Hey ho, I know what I need to do.

Right, off me wobbles to get changed for bed, hiccccc!!

Night xxx
