From Maximus to Minimus - coming soon!

Ok, 22 hours later...can we stop playing now I'm knackered:eek:

Never stopped today - so much for a restful weekend. I'm going to start working weekends!

Among other things, inc. cooking:cool: I decided to give the car a treat and took it to the car wash. I followed this up by using the vacuum at the car wash place to remove the mats and give the carpets a good cleaning. Amazing how MY car get filthy through OTHER PEOPLE (car-share scheme at work) - going to suggest they pay for a full valet for Christmas lol.

Anyway, on inspecting the car AFTER the wash, and vacuum, I was not impressed. SO I brought it home, put it on the drive and went to work.

2 Hours later I had a beautiful shiny black car, with mirror-like alloys and almost showroom carpets, cleaned and spruced to within an inch of their lives. Windows and door sills cleaned - in and out and new air fresheners etc.

Tell you what though, what a fantastic workout or body magic thing valeting a car is because of all the twisting and turning scrubbing and polishing! I'd forgotten how therapeutic and refreshing it was to clean the old jalopy.

Only 3 neighbours made the usual sarcastic comment of "Do mine when you're finished" - which meant I didn't have to set fire to anyone.

I'm all aches and pains now, so have a red-hot bath cooling now to soak before my ramble tomorrow - Osmotherley and North Yorkshire awaits! Bring it on!

Just laughed out loud - isn't it funny that a Brit can't watch anyone else wash their car without saying 'do mine when you've finished'? Think I may have been guilty of saying it myself.... X

Lol, now then, we know the Germans are "efficient" and the Swiss are "pragmatic" - but what do the Swiss say when you wash the car?

No stamina, some people...;)

Donna - never done it! Haa haa! Hubby takes it to the carwash. I guess it would be mega weird for the next person in line to make a comment there! I imagine they would say the same though. They have similar sense or humour to us Brits.

Hahahahha! Bloody auto correct!

I suppose we'll see in about 19 days time eh? - I warmed up today with 6.85 mile in the cold N Yorks hamlet of Osmotherley. A circular walk with plenty of mud!!

We stopped and had two minutes silence at 11am and one of our party (John, ex-serviceman) said "THE" famous verse from Laurence Binyon's poem, For The Fallen.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Very solemn and fitting on a Yorkshire Moor in the mist.

Don't call me Donna!

Good to see you're taking it seriously Steve...

How embarrassing would it be if you were out-walked by a couple of girlies...

Not that Sarah and I would ever tell anyone of course...;)

So gang, I have lots of work-based training beginning tomorrow (four weeks of it) and will probably spill-over to after/bringy home stuff. Just to explain any disappearance from here that I've not fell off the wagon, neither have i been abducted by aliens.

Steve - I though the aliens left us with a look-a-like a while back?

Hi Steve,

Have fun with the training tomorrow xxx

I want to hear that you've been teachers pet and not kept late for detention ;) xx

Osmotherly - I think I might have bought my walking boots there. Or somewhere very close. A friend of mine lives in a village close the there.

Hope the course is going well :)

Good luck from mumsie as well.

I promise I have not read any risky exchanges with the girlies. Mumsie's boy is such a good little saint:angeldevil:.

Mumsie loves you son xxxxxx

Hiya Steve!

Hope the week of training has gone well. Any walking planned for this weekend?
Me - I'm off for 2 days R&R at the Mar Menor - plus lots of boring meetings for our community. Hey Ho.

Have a good weekend

Hello me lovelies!

Feeling a bit of cabin fever at present. The past 4 days (Tuesday-Friday) were stuck in a classroom environment. Not good - especially when one has the concentration of a gnat and a penchant for making people laugh!

Thursday's Indian with Lisa & others didn't come off. Some people can't plan getting washed of a morning I tell you:rolleyes: - either that or they went without me and never got in touch;)

My WI this week was a slightly disappointing 0.5lb gain. Disappointing because any gain is a disappointment, but temper that with the fact I was bang-on target at 10st 12lb and am forever wishing for 0.5 gains or losses rather than huge swings. Funny thing is though I felt like I had lost this week - usually I lose and feel like a gain.

A new member waiting for me in group was one of my rambling group. Inspired by my results, she decided to join my group for inspiration. Hmmm..... there is no way I'm telling her about Minimins:eek:

I celebrated/commiserated the gain with a visit to the chippy:eek: Dawn you're right! It is good to treat yourself every now and again. So long as I remain within target, I will be happy.

As for the walking? - not done any this weekend. I think I will go out in the morning after breakfast and get back in time for lunch. I like the idea of an unscheduled hike.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm still going to be tied-up for the next three weeks with work (steady on Lou!)

I've also got to choose my holidays for next year (got to have them in by end of next week) can't decided whether to go away again or not, and if so, where! - Florida is (always) tempting, but I fancy more visits to europe (weekends) and Britain.

Anyway, as you can all see, I am alive and well.

Steve

Hi Steve

Sorry to hear about the little gain. Very frustrating. But the chippy!!! Am I reading this right?!!!

I hope you have a good week and are not too busy at work. We need to think about our holidays for next year. I will spend more time in England during the summer hols as everyone leaves here in the school holidays but am also hoping we will go to Hawaii. We'll see.

Happy Sunday!

Jane xx

PS Thanks again for posting me something.
