Oh dear......
I have been a member here for a long time and I do know Mini cares about the site and it's members and one of the things I love about this forum is the care and attention from the Admin team. As a community it doesn't allow anything unhealthy or dangerous to be discussed or promoted and anything that seems to contravene this rule will be investigated rather than a member simply being blocked without a chance to explain. It also doesn't ignore any discussion that could incite others into an unhealthy or dangerous act or way of life.
On the flip side, I do have to say that MissMiff, like many of us, has most likely only listed the 'main meals' part of the day as that's what most people consider to be their daily intake. The people involved in discussions on this thread know that meals are much smaller for us, just as someone who has had WLS, but we also snack when we need to. We are not starving ourselves, quite the opposite in fact. We are listening to our bodies and giving them what they need, when they need it. And generally our smaller meals will be more substantial than they sound.
Personally I think VLCD's are the most unhealthy diets as they take your body to the edge of the danger zone and teach you nothing about a healthy lifestyle. But that's just my opinion, and I can't really see the difference between someone posting about living off of 4 shakes a day (whilst also posting about horrible side effects such as hair loss, stomach troubles, lethargy etc) and someone saying they have a slice of toast, other stuff, and a small healthy meal in the evening (whilst also saying they have a lot of energy and feel great!).
We have all chosen our paths and not every one suits everyone. The HGB is not a diet, there is no plan to follow, there are no restrictions. It is simply reprogramming the subconscious to eat in the way we were born to eat and not the way we have learned to eat. A natural side effect to this that your tastes change and you begin to crave healthy food. Your body really does tell you what it wants and as long as you listen you will eat a healthy balanced diet but only what you need of it.
I love this thread and the people who post here. Mini, you have my word that if anyone here misbehaves I will whoop their butts for you! I don't want anyone to stop posting here and I don't want there to be any bad feeling.
It's past my bedtime, lets all sleep on this and start afresh in the morning x
