Half marathon training

Yoga is good for core strength though isn't it?
 
I am doing two kettlebell workouts a week. Going to also do a 30 min bike and 30 min x-trainer session in between 3 runs a week.
After my 8 mile run my ribs and boobs were really sore? Anyone else had this? Presuming its to do with my arms swinging??
 
Sounds silly, but are u wearing a decent sports bra? I found towards the end of my training i was getting sore boobs but then changed to a sports bra and it was ok x
 
Actually I wear those sport crop tops, so no I'm probably not. I do have a sports bra, so will make sure that's what I wear for the long runs. Thanks Summer :)

Too many parties are getting in the way of my running!! Need to detox, then attempting a 9 mile run, hopefully will be 2moro :)

That's amazing :) you must be so pleased! well done! I'm planning on doing a run later but after a week off I'm not expecting a good time!

Just a quick question: what are u meant to do when u need a wee part way round. I only ran 95 mins, but was desperate to go by the end of it!!!!
 
Well done Shazzabir, that's great!!! For my longer runs I try to make sure I pass a tiolet at some point just in case. I also think toilet control is part of the training, try experimenting with what you drink, how much and how soon before you go for a run. Try and go to the toilet 2 or 3 times before you run too.

I'm still on plan and going out tomorrow instead of today as I went out yesterday instead if Sunday.
 
Got back out there today and used my new Garmin toy! It's brilliant :)

10:46 pace p/mile
277cals burnt

V.pleased with that. Usually my pace is 11:30p/mile so where an earth I got 10:46 from after 3days of eating junk & drinking wine I do not know! lol

I celebrated the first day of the new year by signing up to my 2nd half marathon in 2012 ... Bristol! September 30th :D
