Help needed for 1st day......

Morning. How was your weekend?! My Saturday went to plan food wise even though I was shopping all day so I'm pleased with that. Yesterday is another story however and I ended up having a day off plan since we had people round for a BBQ.

I did however have low syn food (i made homemade burgers, low syn potato salad, fresh salad and chicken - i stayed away from the sausages!) apart from a few Pringles and I'm pleased to say I didn't even want that many anyway. Usually the tub would be gone in minutes with me and bf!!

Where the syns came in was the pimms!! I def had a few too many of those - all with diet lemonade. But back on track and I have a lovely chicken salad for lunch today and lots of fruit! Dinner tonight will be leftover burgers so that's syn free as well unless I have some potato salad.

What's your plan today?

sounds like you had a great weekend and food wise - it sounds bang on! well done on not bothering about the pringles - dunno if i could have! lol
as for the pimms...well...it was a 1 off and you're straight back on plan which is a great mind set.

my weekend consisted of more painting the fence, hut etc and shopping - nothing exciting but it's been scorching and i managed to get burnt through factor 30!!! think i was trying to copy you with the white marks and burnt shoulders hehe.

not sure what the plan is today...EE maybe. i'm thinking i should prob get cooking asap cos if the sun comes out here, my kitchen is gonna be horrible with the heat from the sun and the oven being on for ages.
can't really be bothered but need to....totm has made an appearance so i'm kinda waiting on the pain kicking in so that's another reason i should get things done cos there will come a point i'm just wanting to curl up :( x
 
ahh i wrote a nice long message this morning and it obviously hasn't worked! I hope you managed to get stuff done this morning before your pains kicked in.

my chicken salad was yummy which is probably a good thing seeing as i will prob be having the same tomorrow :) its such a shame people didn't eat more yesterday and now we have tons to use up but at least all the food (except the sausages) was syn free. So its burgers (no buns) and salad for dinner tonight I think. Doesn't sound very appetizing does it!? But I will survive for today and tomorrow it is steak night :)

I lost 2lb this morning (yay) so that takes me to 7lb now. Pleased with that but my body fat has gone up AGAIN!! I am convinced its because I am not doing exercise but at least the scales are going in the right direction eh!?

i think your dinner sounds nice....i'm feeling yucky and haven't managed to stomach much!

and a huge well done on the loss...but i don't get the whole body fat thing - i don't understand how it works it all out or can even tell?

i had to lie down earlier but had had some fruit this morning just after i replied to you. i was then sick and god it was so sore...i hate being sick and my little one was there (asking if i wanted him to rub my back...bless him eh...the wee soul :) ) so i was trying to be calm and not say "oooowww it's sore....breath...urgh.....breath" lol cos i always try to paint a picture of calmness!

had some pudding rice and fruit a wee while ago but only cos i figured i should eat something and didn't really want "lunch"

got gammon cooking but think we'll have it with salad and maybe wm roll for dinner rather than the whole roast dinner...it's just too hot!

made some sw onion bhaji's and quiche using low fat supernoodles for the base for a change but can't face making the soup seeing as the kitchen's like a furnace and i know i'll kick myself tomorrow when i'm indoors and not feeling the heat at all! lol

i'm not going to class tonight....i just feel too sh1t so hopefully i can put it through as a holiday when i go next week - either that or maybe try and make another meeting through the week somewhere else...but then that means less than a week til WI again if you get what i mean?
i feel a bit bad but i've been on plan 100% so it's not like i'm avoiding it cos i'm went over my syns or anything...i just can't be bothered and still have things to do seeing as i got held up with mother fekin nature earlier....grrr....i bet she's not on the slimming world! pmsl x
 
i think 'mother nature' is a bloke!!! No woman would make others go through this in my opinion lol. Im sorry that you are feeling rubbish but yes if you feel awful then dont go - you will only regret it if you do....or if you feel better by then you could just weigh and go?! Dose yourself up with paracetamol and ibuprofen (you can take 2 of each at the same time) and try to relax. Bet the heat makes it worse too as the last thing you want is a hot water bottle!!

I have just remembered that I bought a BNS so I will make some 'chips' with that to go with dinner and make it a bit more exciting lol.

I went to Aldi and thought it was brilliant - some of the stuff is a bit odd and random brands but for the fruit and veg etc I was impressed. I will def be going there more often! In fact I might go tonight as I am making cakes for the hen do this week and i'm pretty sure butter from there is no different to asda or tesco lol.
 
quite right! some of their labels are amusing cos they're practically identical but just a different name.

i got their snack size version of snickers bars last week (not for me clearly! :( lol) and it was 6 for 69p....OH said they taste the same!
and seemingly some of their cereal bars are HEb too? i just checked on sw and its 2 harvest morn benefit cereal bars (70cals)?
i take it that's the low fat version of other ones they do?

i get wm rolls from there sometimes....they're 39p for a pack of 4 and weigh about 57g so perfect for out HEb!


i'm just gonna give it a miss cos teeny is away to his pals to play out so footy is off as a "treat" this week. if he was sitting in i'd have still taken him but he's been out all day and they've asked if he wants to stay for dinner which was nice...he doesn't often get the chance with having something on or being at his dad's etc so why not.
but he's the only reason i cooked the bloody gammon....i am literally melting in here lol...and def NO hot water bottle in sight for me!

i'll feel better in a bit...gonna get a shower etc and only didn't do it sooner cos i've got sun cream on so pointless to get clean then greasy again x
 
I am going to take a close look at their snacks tonight and see if there are any bits I can pick up as treats. I also need some crisps that are low syn as the ones I have in for bf are about 6.5 and I don't want to waste so many every time I want crisps.

I have decided to save a burger to take for lunch tomorrow as a change. I'm going to warm it in the microwave and have it in a hexb roll :) mmmm! Might even use my hexa for cheese and make it a cheeseburger. Think it will be a nice change.

So that means no hexb for breakfast for me - ill have fruit and yoghurt instead.

So far today I have had 6 syns on crisps, 1 syn on extra light mayo and 1 syn on a teaspoon of oil (must buy fry light today - do aldi have that?!?!). So I can still have a treat.

i've never seen frylight there but i've heard that they do have it in sometimes....i always keep a look out for it but it might not be national when they have it?
it's pricey eh...i always try to get a few if i see it on offer...which isn't often!

can't you do a red day tomorrow....and that way you can have 2 HEb's? or take some rice pudding/cous cous to mix thru fruit/yog for break if you're doing EE?

10 pack of space raiders for £1....3 syns a bag....or skips/quavers/french fries...they're all quite low and aldi will def do their own version of those! or what about those velvet crunch? i know they're all corn snacks but they hit the spot as best as they can!

i'm ok thanks...not long out the shower so feeling more fresh although it's still really warm here. waiting on the wee fella coming back - barely seen him all day but he'll have had fun so that's great plus i kept saying sorry when i was lying down earlier so it's been kinda good in that sense.

i've not had any syns today...i had my gammon roll but now that i'm feeling better i'm regretting the lack of food throughout the day....not that it was planned but the star bar i have had hidden away for weeks is shouting on me....no way is it near the syns so will see what other goodies i can have instead x
 
I usually do a red day on Tuesdays because its steak night and ill have a jacket potato with it. I managed to pick up some snacky bits and crisps for about 4/5 syns so it was worth the trip.

Still didn't get a chance to have a proper look round though as I was in a rush to get what I needed and go pick bf up so ill have to go again and take my time. The meat looked pretty good from what I saw.

Did you have your treats last night? Are you feeling more human today?
 
feeling more human today...thank god! although i had a pretty restless sleep....and yep, had a my treats...but chocolate consisted of a freddo and not the mentioned star bar ;)

think my fridge is about to pack in....all i bloomin need :( its just not right and things don't feel that cold....plus there's a layer of frost at the back and i'm thinking grrr...not messing about with fridges, i'm going to look online when i get back from work today cos there's not way we can cope without one for even a few days....so might just look at take the hit...i've wanted a new one for a while and a bigger one at that but it's always different when you need and want one though eh!

it's sunny here already...i'm sporting sleeveless which i'm dreading for work (plus the fact i'll be cold when i'm IN work!!) but will look like a right plum if i head in all covered up! lol who cares eh....GULP!x
 
wow!! short sleeves is a big deal for you if i remember right?? Good on you! You would melt in the heat at the moment if you covered up and it might be a start of you getting used to it!!

ahh no - my fridge was playing up at the weekend too but I think someone must have knocked the switch and turned it down a bit. I have turned it back up a bit and it seems to be ok. I inherited the fridge with the flat so I will also need to replace mine before long sigh. Hope you manage to give yours a kick start and save yourself some pennies.

my syns today will be crisps (fakey monster munch lol) 4.5 and if we go for dinner then butter for my jacket potato 4. Ill have some choc or something tonight as well. But bf doesn't seem bothered about going tonight as he is tired (slept from 8 last night straight through) so if we don't go, god knows what I will cook as I didn't get anything out of the freezer. Maybe a mushroom omelette or something like that.
 
i've no idea what i'll have tonight...it's a green day today so might do pasta with philly, quorn and superfree...again! i'm loving the chicken quorn at the minute - can't believe i hadn't had it until recently!

well...it's been hot here all day...i didn't miss the soup one bit and surprisingly wasn't as hungry as i thought i'd be!

gonna go sun it for a bit before i get the lunches and dinner sorted etc.

omelette sounds nice for dinner....with salad...

and lucky for your bloke sleeping right thru eh! lol x
 
so what did you end up with yesterday? I did go for steak in the end and it was really yummy. I sometimes have issues with how they cook it as i don't like it pink but yesterday it was done to perfection lol.

I was a bit naughty after though and had an ice cream sundae. Argh it was lovely but now i'm annoyed with myself as i know I will be totally off the scale syn wise at the weekend for the hen do and I should have been disciplined enough to stick to plan 100% leading up to it. I am meeting my friend for drinks and picnic tonight and I brought all SW food with me so at least I wont be too bad syn wise (We are getting a bottle of prosecco to share).

I guess the lesson here is to think about things a bit more before hand. There will be things in future when I am at target that I will need to be off plan for but I don't need to let that become a habit.

So today's food is peach and kiwi for breakfast with a yoghurt, chicken and potato salad for lunch (2 syns for mayo), crisps (4.5 syns), alpen light (hexb) and an apple. Dinner is couscous with added superfree, carrot sticks and hexa philly, strawberries and then syns for prosecco.

I think I can safely say I will have a gain next week. I was expecting that however after the hen do!

Are you feeling better now? Are you on green again today?
 
I am reading all sorts of horror stories for wetherspoons syns trying to work out how many my ice cream sundae was last night! I want to keep track of how many syns I go over this week - more for info in future than to try and make them up as such.

Do you have access to online? Some of the postings are showing the steaks as 37 syns!!!!! I had only been counting syns for butter on my jacket and ketchup etc. Will not be having another one if that is true!

The ice cream I had is 713 cals including the cream but I had mine without the cream so I have no way of working this out. How can I guess at the number of cals without cream?!

why would they syns be so high in the steak...do they fry it 1st? surely not!!!
just looked on the sw site and it said steak, all fat removed was free but nothing for ice cream/desserts....

your food for today sounds good...but were you not starving after your teeny wee breakfast?

green again for me today, i've brought a few bits and bobs home with me which i always like cos then i don't think i've eaten loads (even though everything i take is sw friendly! lol)

try not to worry too much about the hen weekend...you'll spoil your weekend if you worry about food too much - just know that when you're back and it's all over with, you'll be right back on track...you know what to do and you always have a great variety of food ;)

short and sweet from me just now but i need to head....was supposed to go for a fridge but came straight home so need to either go soon or tomorrow.
i'm waiting on my little one coming back so need to get some stuff done before he bombards me us with his presence lol x
 
I know!! Its just an insane amount of syns and just makes no sense whatsoever! People were arguing about it so it was an interesting thread but some people couldn't even find it on there at all! Its listed under J (as in J D Wetherspoon I suppose) but I am not convinced that it can possibly be that high! I think I might not have it every week from now on lol. Mayeb every other week instead with a five bean chilli at 4.5 syns to alternate with on a green day.

As for the ice cream, unless it jumps out at you next time you are online, I am going to stop trying to find the syns because it wont be right anyway. The eating out threads just have comments on some of the mains from what my searching has revealed but I have asked the question so someone might spot it. If i just use the 20 cals to 1 syn rule then its about 45 syns!!!! SO the lesson there is not to eat them very often lol.

God yes I am hungry today - and not just because of my breakfast I dont think. Just one of those days. But I have stuck to my plan so far and looking forward to some strawberries and prosecco to have with my couscous for dinner!

I have been looking on the slimmingeats website and there are some great recipe ideas there that my bf would like I think so after the hen do I will get abck on track straight away with full enthusiasm :) I might pinch some green day inspiration from you as well lol
 
i've seen the slimming eats site...there are lots of yummy recipes and they all look soooo good!
good idea about the chilli for a change...then you'd know exactly what you were eating if it's listed plus you'd have 2 HEB's for b/fast and lunch that day too...result!
i found the steak under jd wetherspoons on the website and it said free with fat removed. i would give up on the ice cream but a standard 60g scoop is 5 syns so yes, it would be more but 713 cals for a wee pudding....surely NOT????eeek! lol

i'm on the philly pasta with quorn again today. made my lunch for tomorrow (a cheese and pickle sandwich) but i might change that as there's some pasta left which i could always take instead?x
 
Hello :) your Philly pasta sounds really nice to me!! I have only ever tried quorn mince and I wasn't a fan. Maybe ill pick some of this up and give it a go!

hectic day today but home now...thank god!
just ordered a fridge freezer so it's coming on tuesday - what a palava but it's done now....i better like it! lol

i hadn't tried the quorn chicken pieces but i like them although i've only tried them through the pasta...would def give them a go in the fanta chicken etc.

been hungrier today - not sure why but do we ever? lol
