Help needed for 1st day......

oooh it all sounds fab!

nothing fun at this end chick...just the usual work, a bit of overtime and the joys of daily routine i'm afraid....one day i'll have exciting news to report...just not the now lol.

long weekend here for me (no school either...they're just bloody back! lol) but nothing planned. my OH isn't off so just me and teeny to occupy.
 
hello - how was your long weekend? Hope the weather behaved a little. We had rain and wind most of the weekend and today its crisp, bright and sunny (perfect autumn day!)

I had another wedding this weekend and worked yesterday so I am shattered today....but the good news is that I am back on plan now that the wedding is out of the way! :) Pleased to be back eating healthier and going to try some new recipes. I will start making soups again for lunches and out will come the slow cooker!! I love autumn food!! lol

Today I am out for dinner at a friends house so am doing EE and going easy on the syns until tonight (she will no doubt cook something lardy lol). I have had a yoghurt for breakfast and got lovely salad and a fish cake for lunch. Also got fruit and a cereal bar (no crisps today) so hopefully that will keep me full up til dinner! I am going to drive so bf can drink and I can avoid the inevitable wine lol.

Whats your plan today chic?

weather here's been windy and rainy and it's been really cold....autumn's def here now and although the food might be better, i hate the cold lol.

plan today is EE i think. i've taken the last of my chilli from the other week out the freezer so we'll have that.

glad you're back on plan and feeling better for it. i'm super hungry this morning so need to go eat something soon or i'll just crave badness cos it's quick and convenient lol x
 
I think Chilli is on my menu for tomorrow - we are trying to use up all the stuff in our freezer at the moment to defrost it and I have a nice big pack of mince that will do for dinner and a couple of lunches. I've also got some salmon and Basa (which is a white fish) fillets and a whole chicken to use up (the veg I'm less bothered about but I want to get all the meat and fish used up!)

Lunch was yummy! I have saved my cereal bar to have in an hour or so with a cuppa and give myself a bit of a boost (really really tired today lol). have you got back into your cooking routine?
 
erm...kinda.
been doing it for my work snacks(although i'm finding i'm not using it all the way i used to) but dinners have been a bit boring...all on plan but not as exciting as they used to be.
there's a few things playing on my mind and i just can't be bothered so although i know i'm still on plan, it's just not with the same oomph as before.

i made roasted red pepper hummus the other day, just finished it just now which i'm gonna do again...i think it would be great for work and def a boost for me to get a few carrots in me without even thinking about it cos i've been using those to dip in ;)

i want to try it with kidney beans...what do you think?
i know i added fromage frais to the chickpeas but dunno if it would be the same with kidney beans?
i have a tin there in chilli sauce which i have to put in when making chilli....but not sure how it would be blended?x
 
I'm not sure about blending kidney beans - i've never done it but I suppose you could give it a try?! The texture should be the same and i think the flavour would be nice. its mixing in the from frais im a bit unsure of but if it works then great!

Maybe you are stuck in a SW rut with your recipes hun - have you thought about trying some new things? I found a recipe for some little spanish quiche things that are cooked using a cake tin that might be quite nice as a snack for work. I'm going to try out some new things once i have been shopping and got some decent veggies in.

Goes without saying hun that if you need to rant or talk about whats getting you down you can just PM me :)
 
aww thanks chick...i'll keep it in mind.

i think that's exactly it with what's happening just now and i've not long said to my OH that i need to start looking at new things or looking over my food diary from the beginning and see what i was eating then.
i just think i can't be bothered and obviously it's great that i'm not going off plan but i need to remember to try keep the oomph up as much as possible cos it makes things better for me!

just having the last of the sw chilli with a baked potato for dinner.
i've just blended a tin of kidney beans in chilli sauce....tastes ok but runny compared to the texture of normal hummus so not sure what i could add to thicken it other than more kidney beans?

def think if you were using plain kidney beans, you'd need this and that to flavour it...just not sure what the this or that would be lol.

sts for me at weigh in tonight...i was a bit like hmmmph...but then i looked at the book and this would've been gain week so i suppose it's a bonus....and even though it wasn't a loss....it wasn't a gain either!

i've eaten next to nothing today so gonna have a bar of galaxy bubbles tonight i think for 8.5....so worth it!

Yesterday went well for me considering I was out for dinner. She made fish pie with veggies so at least I got my super free in and the only syns would be for wine and butter I guess?! I also didn't have any pudding....she had made a spiced apple crumble and custard but I'm really fussy with desserts so it was easy to say no.

Today will be EE again. I'm going to get some sushi for lunch on the way to work as I didn't have time to make something. Or I might grab some soup maybe?! Although ill have to browse what soups aren't too synful first and shop bought ones often are.

It's good you didn't have a gain at WI yesterday. I would definitely see that as progress if it was due to be gain week hun :)

Are you signed up to some recipe threads? There will be lots of new ideas on there.
 
that was lucky with your friend's dinner....bonus really considering you thought it would be quite synful eh ;)

i've got some recipe threads on here so will need to try have a look.

spent some time going through my clothes (again) last night and my god, i've nothing to wear...it's just all too big!
took a whole lot out - stuff that is just FAR too big and still have some stuff to go through but think it did me good cos it made me think that maybe it's not all about chasing the numbers....even weeks i have a gain doesn't mean that stuff is going to fit me again overnight but it was kinda bitter sweet when i looked at the few things i can actually wear lol.

not sure what my plan is today cos i forgot to take anything out the freezer for dinner...well, i remembered but only when i'd just gone to bed and i didn't get back up lol.

it's FREEZING here today :( x
 
its a bit milder here today than yesterday but its definitely autumn now and summer is long gone! we had a mad five minutes of hail and rain yesterday afternoon and then blue skies again but still cold.

I havent got much left in the freezer meat wise I noticed looking at things this morning so maybe i will be able to do some defrosting this weekend. I have some salmon to use up so I think that will be tomorrow's dinner maybe with some mash or sauteed potatoes and veggies.

Think we will be having a take away on thursday as its our anniversary (4 years) so we usually go for dinner or get a takeaway. We dont really get presents or anything though - sometimes a little box of chocs or something but we dont really go big.

so have you got to go clothes shopping again or do you have enough to keep you going at the moment? I know you hate clothes shopping lol
 
aww thurs will be nice...maybe you'll get a ring instead of synful chocolates?? ;) lol

clothes shopping can wait for now...i'll just see how it goes but i guess i'll need to make a day of it at some point!

still no further forward on food for the day, so far i've eaten a handful of fruit with a mouthful of rice pudding that i was making for the next few days...not really feeling too hungry yet but will def get something sorted soon so that i avoid the "i'm starving...what can i have" stuff lol x

I ended up with mug shots for lunch with a giant apple and some crisps (5.5) lol. Not a great lunch but not too synful considering I wasn't prepared. Will try to save some chilli for tomorrow.

Random question but do you know syns for condensed milk!?

your lunch wasn't too bad at all hun ;)

my day's been ok...i never really had much for breakfast then had a chicken subway salad for lunch (it was yummmmy!)

made diet cola chicken with noodles for dinner, added 3 peppers and a huge onion for superfree but i can't eat it...dunno what's wrong with it/me...i just can't face it ?
still have my HEb so will have some fruit salad with yog & muesli soon i think.

morrisons have little boxes of dorsets muesli for 59p. there's 80 odd grams in it so at least 2 HEb's worth but i half the amount and mix it in and i thought it was a good buy considering a big box is over £3!
that'll do me a few times anyway.

just checked sw online, condensed milk is 2.5syns per tbsp or 2 for the light stuff...whatcha making???x
 
Well I've been given a recipe for honeycomb fudge which I'm trying out as a present for someone. I just wondered if its even worth the bother Trying to syn it (its got 400g dark choc and 3 crunchie bars in plus the condensed milk) I think it's not worth the bother lol. It will be sooooo synful! But it will save me money on bday presents so its a good plan as long as it works lol.

I'm starving and dinner is just about ready. Yum yum!!!

shame cos i have the noodles, peppers, onions and sauce for lunch tomorrow (doing a green day) and already i'm thinking bleugh!

just tucking into a big bowl of fruit salad with yog & muesli...not eating my dinner being the reason for that! lol x
 
Lol. Sometimes you make a nice dinner but by the time you sit down its not what you fancy. Are you going to warm it up for lunch? I'm sure by then you will want it and it will be fine.

Or else you could throw it in the freezer for another day?! Ive got leftover chilli for my lunch with some salad.

actually the chilli we had last night was a frozen portion from before...def goes down a wee treat!

i'll just eat it cold...and if i don't want it then there's an emergency mugshot in my drawer lol x
 
Lol. Today was my first mug shot experience and they aren't bad. I don't think i would plan them in all the time but good as a snack or if I'm unprepared lol
 
yeah, they're ok.
the 1st time i had one i thought - total garbage, yuk and all processed, but next time it was ok...and felt a bit naughty.

i don't have them a lot but they're good if i'm stuck for ideas and great for lunch on a green day leaving 2 HE's ;)

i usually have the sweet and sour ones but tried the chicken one the other week (which ever one is syn free) and that was ok.
i'd never use syns for them tho...so not worth it!

had half a crunchie tonight for my wee goody....so tasty when you've not had one for ages and it lasted longer than the usual stuff i had cos i kinda nibble away at it....simple things eh lol x
 
Ooohhhh I love a crunchie. Well done for only having half lol. I'm not sure I could manage that!!

Bf reckons he might not cook tonight and I'm working late so god knows what ill end up having. I have a mug shot to have at about half 4 before I head to the other office so that should help. And there is fruit there too now that I think of it.

I'm finding it hard not having freezer pots to pull out the day before for lunches etc. I'm not feeling prepared and on top of things with planning!!
