Help needed for 1st day......

Really really hard going today! Had to go through some complicates documents and comment (each doc 140 pages and needed line by line comments!!) worked an hour late so on the train home now.

Bf is getting the dinner on for me and thought I was mad when I said I was having veggies with my chilli lol. Might syn some bread to have since I can't have rice (red today) and I have only had 3.5 syns today so far. WM bread is 6for a hexb so 3 for one slice and I still have enough syns for some butter on it so that will be a nice treat. I'm also going to make some SW coleslaw.

Green is my plan tomorrow so I need to get some 3 bean chilli out the freezer (my last portion and can't wait to be rid of it. Nowhere near as nice as I thought it would be!!) going to make some rice up to eat with it and take some fresh chilli to give it some kick!

Once I get in and eat that will be me ready for a bath and bed!! Had an awful sleep last night so early to bed for me! You got anything planned?! What are the quorn pepper steaks like!?

they're alright...i first picked them up cos they were reduced and i thought i'd give them a bash...not too bad with potatoes and veg.
i want to try the quorn meatballs next - i've heard good reviews and they're syn free too ;)

what a shame you had a hard day....it sounds draining at times but with how busy you are, it must fly by??

not long out the shower, dunno what the goodies are for tonight but i'll make my mind up soon and post my eats for the day.

green for me tomorrow again, got a cheese and pickle sandwich which i'm looking forward to...i know i've used wm rolls for my quorn burgers but i've not had a sandwich for ages x

I think I'm going to make meatballs one day next week. I picked up some pork mince the other day when I was shopping. Bf made a lovely red day chilli last night and there was enough for a portion leftover so that will be lunch tomorrow (meaning I didn't have to make any soup in the end ;))

Today is green for me so I have cereal for breakfast and some 3 bean chilli (and I chopped up another fresh chilli to put in it so hopefully it won't be too boring) for lunch. I brought some SW coleslaw as well for 2.5 syns.

Dinner tonight will be linda mc sausages (normal sausages for bf) and mash with veg. Was lovely to have some coleslaw for a change although I'm a little annoyed I didn't pick up the extra light mayo the other day when I saw it so had to stick to light and waste a few syns.

Need to do some planning for the weekend as I'm working I'm my friends dads butchers Saturday so I will be out of action for a day! May do a roast on Sunday if I have enough potatoes left.

Bf has the dentist Saturday which is going to be massively expensive (he has a hole in his tooth) so not looking forward to that! Although he has had to fill himself with pain killers this week so it needs to be done. He isn't working again at the moment and it's driving me crazy because we really need the money. Fingers crossed it picks up soon or Xmas will be rubbish!! :(

The aldi choc and fudge cereal bars are not as nice as alpen - they almost taste a bit strawberry in the background?! A bit like if you get a macdonalds milkshake and the one before you was strawberry if you know what I mean!? But they will do for the price!! My sister bought me two boxes of rocky road hifi bars to try so I'll get them off her tomorrow evening.

She seemed to like her new group and is getting on ok this week. She has about 3.5 stone to lose so I am hoping she gets a decent first loss to spur her on!

How you feeling hun?

i'm fine thanks, all good at this end :)

aww good on your sister for going back...1st week WI's are always decent so fingers crossed she gets a good one ;)
mmm to the rocky roads, i love them!

not good about the dental bill...needs must though eh. i'd never put up with pain even though i don't really like going - but i am good and go when i need to.

how was the chilli in the end? i had my sandwich which was a nice change...but i ended up chatting in between bites and left it for a bit so i couldn't focus fully on it if you know what i mean lol.

you've reminded me i need to get mayo...i'm just going to get it from aldi again - it does the job and to be honest, i think all the extra light stuff is pretty tasteless so maybe it's not such a bad thing using syns for some flavour hehe.

how's your day been?x

I haven't tried them yet but everyone raves about them so will give them a go! I like the deluxe choccy ones they do but they are only one for a hexb and i like having two so i can split it if i want to! (I know someone else who likes to do that too lol) I also love the choc and caramel hifi light's mmmmm!

I'm so proud that she has gone back - it must be hard to do after losing a lot of weight and then putting it back on (and more). Someone at her work is doing it as well so hopefully they can help eachother!

My day has been ok so far - hungry though! Can't wait to get home and have some grub lol! The chilli bf made last night was really good - he even remembered that I'm not allowed kidney beans on a red day so I was v impressed!! The 3 bean chilli was ok - im not going to make it again as i had to force myself into eating it - not a good sign! :(

oooh....ye canny beat a bit of splitting the HE's lol - it's potentially 4 separate eating times lol.

i didn't like the caramel hifi's - thought they tastes cheap but i do lilke the RR ones.

did i tell you i emailed SW about the lack of marshmallows on the rocky road bars sometimes? i sent a picture of one that literally had 1 on the whole bar - you never know what you're going to get and considering i spend £4 almost every week on 2 boxes, i was miffed.
they replied and sent me a box but they did say that they aim to have 6 on each bar....i'm thinking that's maybe concerning when sometimes you get a loaded one...does that mean we should be syning the extra ones??

i had a peanut hifi last night and i really like them too...there's no chocolate and i don't often have them - but when you've got a spare HE left at night then it's ideal for those times lol.

just had a big jacket potato with cottage cheese and beans for dinner. meant to ask...is the 5 bean chilli and JP low syns from wetherspoons?
i'm sure i saw someone's diary on here and they'd only syn'd 1.5 for it - is that right?x

You didn't say that you had emailed SW but what a bonus if you got a box free!! :) might try it myself lol. I wouldn't worry about synning the extra ones as I'm sure it evens out over the boxes. And marshmallows are low syn anyway - and the ones on the bars are only little aren't they?!

I couldn't have the peanut ones but I am tempted to try the minty ones. Next week I'll get my sister to try and pick up one box of caramel and one box of mint I think. Not sure on trying the lemon ones as I'm a bit fussy when it comes to lemon but I know a lot of people really like them.

I'm going to have an omelette and SW chips tonight I think - changed my mind halfway through the day and I have some mushrooms to use up so that will do me. Also still have a hexa to use up too!!

The 5 bean chilli from wetherspoons is 4.5 syns and it comes with tortillas. There is a long standing argument about the JPs and if they are syn free or not. Some people say they are fried, frozen and then defrosted to order. But I can honestly say they are not in any way greasy so I don't think they are fried. As far as I know the SW website lists them as free. So I would say a JP with the 5 bean chilli would be 4.5.

All the wetherspoons stuff is listed under 'JD' on syns online so you might want to check - but I count it as free.

The sweet chilli egg noodles are 1 syn on green and EE. If you add chicken it's 11 syns on EE. They are pretty tasty but not as filing as I would have liked.

yay!
you'll be able to check loads of things!

i've tried to search a few things tonight and not been able to see anything i'm looking for - JD wetherspoons chilli etc and the aunt bessie's carrot and mash i saw weeks ago as syn free...has vanished from both?? :( x

that is odd - I didnt know they had a free chilli at wetherspoons?! I noticed on the red days thread you talking about that mash. strange if they have just disappeared - if anything they should still be there but with a syn value.

Ill try to have a look over lunchtime and see if i can find them hun. What is your day looking like? I'm on EE today and got chilli for lunch and a stir fry for dinner!

well I can't find it either - tried using the syns calculator and it showed up as 33.5 syns for a 500g pack! But I have no experience using the thing so no idea if I did it right - I cant have done as there is no way it is this many syns! I tried entering the information for the chille con carne as well and that came out at 26.5 syns so I am obv not using it right. Am I right in thinking that the free food you select is the first ingredient on the list?

You might need to call up the SW syns hotline (do they ask for a membership number or anything?) to see why it has gone if you have seen it on there before.

I did find this in the eating out section of the website;

  • Chicken breast & pepper skewers, with piri-piri sauce. The chicken, peppers and side salad are all Free Foods. Count a Syn or two for any oil that may have been used on the grill pan. The piri piri sauce comes on the side, so you can add as much or as little as you like (approx 1 Syn for 1 tbsp).
  • Five bean chilli. A real veggie delight with butter, kidney, haricot, cannellini and pinto beans, bulgar wheat, Quorn mince and peppers in a tomato sauce, and basmati rice – all Free Foods! The 5 Syns in the dish come from the tortilla chips it’s served with and any oil used during preparation, so if you want to bring the Syns even lower, skip the chips.
  • Sweet chilli noodles. At 1 Syn on Extra Easy, these noodles tossed in a sweet chilli sauce, with red peppers, spring onion, choy sum, bamboo shoots and carrot make a colourful and healthy main course. Add chicken breast and count a couple of Syns for any oil used during preparation.
  • Steak and jacket potato. This is a great choice for eating out in general - it’s really Food Optimising-friendly once any visible fat is trimmed from the meat. This dish comes with peas, tomato and flat mushroom – so count a few Syns for any oil used during grilling.
  • Jacket potatoes. For a light bite there are lots of jacket potato toppings that fit in with Food Optimising. A spud with chilli con carne comes to 7½ Syns on Green and Extra Easy, while a potato topped with five bean chilli is only 1½ Syns and one topped with good old baked beans is fabulously Free! (Ask for any sauce or sour cream on the side – or without butter – so you stay in control of your Syns.)

i tried to look again but couldn't see it either!
tesco have it for £1 just now so i got it and i'll check later.

busy day of hair, eyebrows and nails being done for the wedding and my couple of days off plan has started early seeing as i was out all day and had nothing to eat so grabbed a roll on sausage in the morrisons cafe.

i'm not fussed, it was proper yummy (cos i was so hungry i think lol) but something like 28.5 syns!! madness eh.
anyway, i'm gonna enjoy whatever i have this weekend which will result in me consuming white bread/rolls and whatever i eat at the wedding...but it's been planned for ages and seeing as i wasn't away to tenerife for 2 weeks....this is my holiday lol.

no WI til a week on monday but i'll take any gain i might have on the chin!

bought some malt loaf toasty stuff too....and i can't wait to have some of that! ;) x

Ahh hun good for you getting all pampered up! I'm currently sitting in joggers and a hoodie all cozy after my day working in the butchers. Got paid £50 plus he gave me a great deal on some meat. I got 4 x pork and black pudding sausages (god how on earth do I syn them!?!), a whole pork fillet big enough for 2 meals for 2 people and a lamb joint for 2 (boned and rolled) all for £5!!!! Awesome!! I also booked a few more days in as well so all that money is going to go in my bday/Xmas pot. I have a few days out planned with friends as bday celebrations and now I'll have the money to not worry about it. :)

On the negative side I managed to get my car locked in a school car park so had to walk home! Grrrr. Now I have no idea if I will be able to get it out tomorrow or wait til Monday. Really annoying as we needed it tomorrow but not a lot I can do about it! *sigh*

Hope you really let your hair down and have a good old time at the wedding. Have what you want food and drink wise and get right back on plan after like I know you will :) :) can't wait to hear all about it!!

hey you :)

well...i'm back and god am i ready to get back to normal BIG time!

originally, i'd planned that i'd be off plan today too and back on it tomorrow...but i can't face it!!!

i've had a lovely weekend but food wise, it hasnt been what i thought it was and i feel a mixture of disappointment and happiness. disappointed cos i wanted to enjoy every mouthful of floury, calorie laden non sw friendly foods that i shoved down my throat...and happy that the truth is...it wasn't all that!! lol

i've had dominos, a fry up, scones, desserts, crisps, sweets etc but come last night, i was like eurgh! felt so bloated and desperate for some superfree that i just decided to miss a day of the planned badness.
eating the foods i used to seemed boring in a sense...i'd planned this weekend so much and had even made a list of all the foods which i was going to sneak in....and yep, i had them...but they just didn't seem as appealing as they've been in my head on the build up to it.

of course, this is excellent news cos it would be awful if i was like boooo...back to sw foods lol and i think i quite missed the cooking/preparation side of things. we were busy all weekend but at times i was like hmmmm...what can i do...cos usually i'm planning what's for eating and how am i going to make it etc.

so cooking is happening as we speak and i reckon a few days of some fruit, veg and plenty of water filled squash will soon have me feeling less gutsy as i do.

great news on your shift at the butchers and the meat deals! £50 here and there will def be a help! need to find me some of that lol. shame about the car - did you get it sorted??

how was your weekend otherwise?x

Heeeeey! Glad to hear you indulged and had a good time! It's really nice to get some SuperFree after a bad few days isn't it lol!?

It's really responsible of you to listen to how your body feels rather than going ahead with an off plan day just because you had planned it. You should be really proud - definite NSV there hun!!

I know what you mean about feeling a little disappointed. I have to say most weddings I have been to, the food wasn't up to much. Usually the same sort of thing but the last one I went to was awesome! It sounds like you got a lot of things out of your system though - bet the dominoes was goooood lol.

Interesting that you found yourself at a loose end over the weekend. I managed to do quite a bit of food prep on Sunday in between cleaning my flat. I made 2 portions of soup, three portions of the primula and ham risotto and some mini quiches which I has for lunch today. I also cooked an amazing roast dinner with the lamb I got from the butcher.

I did manage to get the car out Sunday morning in the end lol. Lesson well and truly learned there. I guess that's what I get for trying to avoid extortionate parking fees lol :)

I had a great day today - I lost 3lbs!!!! :) :) :) that put a massive smile on my face this morning. I had a red day today so cereal for breakfast, mini quiches and salad for lunch with crisps (3.5) and a hifi bar (3). Then dinner was a breaded chicken fillet (4) with hexb of sautéed new potatoes and veg. So that's me at 10.5 so for today and still enough milk left in my hexa for two cups of tea to sit down and relax with.

I took a leaf out of your book yesterday and bought some mini treat size chocolate treats. I got a bag of mini flake, twirl, buttons and dairy milk. They are all between 75-115 calories so I may have something with one of my cups of tea.

More good news is that despite my sister being nervous and thinking she had a bad week - she lost 2.5lb at her WI tonight!! :) so pleased she got a loss!

How was your day being back on plan!? What did you eat?

awww great news on your loss!
did you do anything different to give you such a good loss? and also good news for your sister...is she happy with it too?

the food at the wedding was nice, struggled cos they were decent size portions...i was just disappointed in everything else that i'd eaten...cos it didn't give me the satisfaction i wanted to lol.

the domino's was nice...but total stodge and to go from no white floury foods at all to a bit of everything (we got the meal deal thing!! lol) was a bit OTT. i didn't gorge though and stopped when i'd had enough (then picked again later lol)

i had a maple and pecan yum yum thing...now THAT was good! it was the 1st naughty thing i ate...and it's probably what i enjoyed the most out of everything! lol

i'd be the same as you with the parking...just a shame you got caught out in a sense lol.

today i had a great big bowl of fruit salad and yog, some soup and ryvita with tuna at lunch and chicken, roasties, carrots, sprouts & sweetcorn for dinner then some left over fruit a bit later on....c'mon the superfree lol.

had a mini curly wurly and some crisps too but i'm losing my tastebuds so not sure if i have a cold lingering...feel ok but i HATE having no sense of taste or smell...it stresses me out so hoping it's a one off!

what did you think of the risotto...i didn't like it, which reminds me, i must make the one i did before (think you gave me a recipe) cos i liked that.

heading to bed soon i think, all my stuff is ready for work apart from a nibble before i leave in the morning...i've got boiled eggs though so could have that?x

The only thing I did different was that I used up a ton of syns mid week on Terry's chocolate orange (haven't had it for years!) so cut back for the remainder of the week but still had my alloyed syns in total. Maybe that had an impact or maybe it's because it was a really well planned out week!? I've planned this week out properly too so hopefully another good loss for me this week as well. I also had more SuperFree from what I can remember and that must have helped too.

Yeah she is really pleased and surprised. I'm just so glad because she was connived she wouldn't those anything as I don't think she stuck to plan 100% because she was making and selling cakes so had a few bits here and there.

Your food today sounds great - packed with SuperFree. You will be feeling less bloated in no time!! I've got some of my soup today for lunch. It's leek and BNS with sage. I just chucked in what I had left after cooking my roast dinner and put some veg stock, sage, salt and pepper and it came out really lovely. So looking forward to that. I've decided to split my hexb today so I have one slice of bread to dunk in it and one cereal bar.

I haven't tried the risotto yet - I'm having it for lunch tomorrow and two portions went in the freezer so I'll let you know tomorrow!! I usually like risotto so hopefully I will like it. If not then ill stick to my normal recipe in future lol.

What is your food plan for the day?

food for today is a green one...
was really hungry this morning so had an alpen light and a cold boiled egg before i went to work then rice with yog and berries when i was there. got some mac and cheese and homemade soup for lunch and a quorn peppered steak for dinner - not sure what i'm having with it yet.

great news on your sister....i hope she sticks with it cos even with days off here and there...we know, in the long run, it works!x
